Non slip carpet pad
Essentially, this is like a non slip carpet pad. The orange box store sells an All-Surface Thin Profile Fiber and Rubber Backed Non-Slip Rug Pads for use under large rugs - to prevent the rug from slipping. Yes, the surface of this is nicer than those pads, but it's essentially the same thing. In other words, it is thin. I have a ceramic tile floor consisting of 3 ft x 6 in tiles. Faux wood planks. My house was built in 2016 but no house today has level concrete floors. Unless you have the slab diamond sanded to level. They may do this on a slab to take out some high spots but add on top the ceramic planks and yes, this will lie flat but will not create a perfectly straight putt. Too many variables. So unless you intend to add a substrate of 5/8 inch plywood, creating a flat torsion box style floor to set this on, it will most likely not be flat in your house. Which to me is fine. Not many greens out there are flat. Or have no imperfections. But to use this inside to get to know speed and stroke techniques, it works fine. For the price (got mine at half), it is a good choice for putting practice indoors. I also purchase from Amazon the 2x15 version and plan on practicing my long lag putts. Down my hallway into my living room, and have the 3x11 added at the end. That give me an 18 ft run to practice lag putts. And so, I will enjoy this as my expectations are reasonable and I know for the price, it will not be a true sim green, but a usable way to practice. Hope that helps. UPDATE* - leaving the mat on the plank tile floor did finally settle where one could see the tiles through the mat on the long edges. So the mat will settle into cracks and crevices over time. Probably due to walking on it, even with just socks on. To eliminate this, I tried my 4mm yoga mats under the putting surface and it solved the problem. So I looked for the least expensive Gaiam yoga mats in 4 mm and ordered enough to place under both hitting mats. Got a great deal here for $17 per mat. Yes, the effect is on an 8 ft putt, the ball will travel about three inches less due to the substrate yoga mat. But I am okay with that. First, it gave me a reason to finally use these yoga mats (had two) and second: I am not going to build a plywood substrate for the putting surface mat to sit on, as then I would over-design something to account for uphill/downhill and most likely sidehill lies. Nope. Yoga mats will work just fine. Just more FYI using DYI. :)

Solid Product
If your looking for a putting mat to practice distance this does the trick. It’s made pretty well and I use it daily. I had my own ball return so I don’t really use the cups provided. The mat is made pretty well but it’s not a thick heavy mat. I think it is not bad for the price.

Love it
I’m on the road lot working kind of boring in the hotel room I use it to practice. If you cut the box in half and put it at either end of the carpet it works as a backstop It is fast but that’s OK. The greens today are really fast anyway.

Super FUN and usefull indoor trainer with some flaws.
This putting mat has a lot going for it. It's long enough to practice 10 foot putts and it's wide enough to stand on the same surface that you're putting on which I believe is very important since that's what you do on the course. Many other mats have you standing off the mat which just doesn't feel the same. The color and material really remind you of being on a green and the roll is much closer to the real thing than putting on carpet. The cups are nice too in that your ball doesn't go over anything to make it in the cup like some other putting mat trainers do with their cups. Now the cons. This thing is pretty expensive for what is basically a 3 ft by 11 ft piece of fabric. It just seems like you could buy something similar at a fabric store but maybe not. It also tends to move around a bit so you'll find yourself constantly moving it back into place after a few putts. It also gets slight buckles/humps from standing on it. I think those last two things could be fixed by attaching velcro stickies to the bottom to keep it in place. Another con is that it's pretty big for apartment dwellers who live in cramped quarters. I had to bring it over to my parents' house because it's just too darn big for my little dump of a bachelor pad. Also, I purchased mine in "Like New" condition which I think means it had a wear spot of discoloration in one portion of the mat. Not a big deal. Overall, though, this thing should definitely help you get used to those seemingly "gimme" 6 foot and under putts that you get nervous on when playing a real round. If you putt those types of putts on this mat, you'll develop lots of confidence. Those ARE gimme putts and this mat can make that so for you. It's great for the longer putts too so you don't short or long 'em. So from 10 foot to 1 foot putts, this will definitely help your game and that's what training aids are for. I just wished it stayed in place a little better and didn't get little buckle hills when walking on it. Smoothing it out can get annoying but it's a small price to pay for the results you'll get. If these things were $20 or under, I'd never hesitate in recommending them to all my golfing pals. As is, I'll share mine with my family and friends which makes for some fun competitions.

Lays flat and rolls smooth
Lays flat right out of the box. I like to keep it handy so I can make a few practice putts everytime I walk by it. I recommend if you are a serious golfer.

Good size and rolls well
Roll’s great on hardwood floors.

Not bad...but does not roll true
Mat is nicely constructed and was the proper size that was ordered. The issue was the putting green "stimp" or speed was way to slow. Think of a rain soaked green where you really have to blast a 8' putt to get it to roll to the hole. Not good for practice as this threw me off within minutes.

Great value for money
Absolutely no need to pay any more for a putting mat than this.

Unreal bang for your buck
Used this for a home project. Really happy with this putting mat. It’s more of a carpet than turf (see pictures) which I wanted, and it laid flat as soon as I took it out of the box. The quality is really good, and it would have been fine to use as just the mat instead of the elevated box but wanted to keep busy. The value is amazing when compared to other expensive mats. It was easy to cut and nail to the wood. My friend who is a pro golfer bought one of the expensive ones and wishes he bought this to save the money without losing quality. Also comes with two ‘cups’ which were a good touch. I’m assuming it’s meant for the indoors but I’ll probably bring it outside eventually. Really happy with it

Wife happy and improved her putting approach
A very good size for internal practice and comes with two little cups that encourage distance practice.

Good quality putting mat with no gimmicks . The speed of the pots is comparable to real life.
I like that I can roll it up, put it in the box and bring it out when needed
