So much faster that a manual trimmer.

I just received my new trimmer and used it for the first time today. The very first thing I noticed when I took it out of the box was it came with a short cord, unlike what is pictured in the images here and unlike what is pictured on the box. As far as I could tell, the cord is permanently attached to the trimmer. This must be a new feature that the product description has not caught up with. The short cord has a shield around it so you can't plug it into a wall outlet. You do need an extension cord. It still has the strain relief mechanism which prevents it from being accidentally unplugged if you tug on it too hard. The second thing I noticed is that while it takes two hands to start the trimmer, once it is running, as long as you hold down on the trigger towards the back you can release your hand from the lock out device in the front. While I would recommend using two hands all the time, if you need to lean over your bushes to reach way in the back, you can let go with the one hand and extend your reach. I am going to keep the cardboard box it came in to store it for that little bit of extra protection. First impression is this is a top of the line trimmer. The paperwork indicates that the manufacturer wants a happy customer and if you register the trimmer right away they extend the warranty an additional 90 days. The quality of the cut was fine. It results in a must crisper looking finish that what I was able to do with my manual trimmer. I will keep the manual trimmer for those jobs that are further than my extension cord can reach. The only thing that would make this unit better would be if it were battery powered. But I didn't want to spend the extra money and most of my trimming is within reach of the extension cord. I would buy this again.

Very, very satisfied with these!

For a number of years, I had been borrowing a hedge trimmer to trim my shrubs once a year. It always required coordinating a way to drive over and pick up the trimmers. Then I had to find a way to get a chance to return them back to their owner. I was always reluctant to purchase my own set of trimmers. This year I decided I was going to buy my own set of hedge trimmers. I saw these on here and was satisfied with the reviews and extremely satisfied with the price. I pulled the trigger on these (no pun intended) and was very, very satisfied with my decision. These trimmers worked perfectly on my five year old shrubs and cut through even the thickest limbs with no problems. I would absolutely buy these again and would recommend them to anyone even if they cost double what I paid for them! They got the job done and left me with a huge mess to clean up. And I might have gotten a little to excited and cut the shrubs a bit too short... At least they'll grow back!

Awesome Hedge Trimmer and a Great price.

It does what it claims, powerful, lightweight, sharp and does what it's intended to do. SUN JOE does a great job with these very affordable tools. My hedges look clean and tidy. Mind you, I have a postage stamp piece of property, but I like it to look good even if I am the only one to enjoy it. I am not surprised these products continuingly get five stars. Also, they are attractive for tools.
