Love it !
Easy, fast to use, it heats up very quickly, but compared to another one that I had, I prefer efficiency and speed, I can always wait for it to cool down, I used it in my husky 25%doodle 75 doodle

Gets VERY hot
I liked that the trimmer went through our puppies fur very nicely and how easy it is to change the blades. And that’s all I liked about it. It is awkward to hold, heavy and gets so dang hot it burns my hands. Didn’t want to risk burning either of our puppies so I contacted amazon as it was outside our return window and they were very good about letting us return it. I wouldn’t recommend this trimmer if you’re planning to use it for more than 20 minutes.

Recalienta
Recalienta muy pronto, apenas se está terminando el dorso del animal y ya está quemando la máquina.

Was great from 2014-2020, insufferable from 2020-2022
Well, I probably should say that until they stopped working well, they...worked well. Ok. I got these to clip our Miniature Schnauzer as well as our Norwegian Forest Cat (who is bigger than the dog, btw). Both animals have an undercoat and both need to be clipped fairly regularly. I have enjoyed using these clippers from 2014-2020, and suffered thru using them 2020-2022. Today, I think I'm done. I have taken apart the clipper head to see what nonsense may be causing a loud pair of clippers to become LOUDER and vibrate in such a way that it would frighten even a lumberjack USING his chainsaw, and I'm stumped. I don't even know if I can sell it for parts, but an OSTER was supposed to last longer than this, I would have thought. When I clipped my horse, I always went with an OSTER. The first barn I stabled at had a pair of OSTER clippers that had been around for about 20 years, which is why I (wrongly) assumed these would be so solid. I also love the fact I could switch out the blades so easily.

Best clippers I ever bought
I have a weenie Jack Russell and a Maltese schnauzer and the clippers work very well in both dogs hair with no problem.

Good, but not good enough
I bought a set of these in 2011 and then again in 2018, now in 2020 I need another set. I have a rather large Cocker Spaniel but still feel that these clippers should handle the job. Both prior sets have stopped working for the same reason. The blades wont sit right against the clippers. The lever seems like it gets so hot it gets "mushy" feeling and the blades wont cut. I have not tried replacing the lever, because until today, I didn't know you could buy replacements. I will order some and have them on hand, and try to salvage the other 2 pair. The clippers themselves get quite "hot" to where I have to put them down. The blades get way overheated and I am afraid I will burn my pup. I continually use the Cool Lube and that helps for a few mins but not long. Now I will say, if you make sure your dog is clean, these will zip right through his coat. Unless it is well over a couple of months since he has been clipped. I admit, I am not the best at keeping him clipped every 6 weeks. I still feel these clippers should have lasted longer than the 6-8 times per year that I use them. I was very disappointed in the quality. I had always seen these being used at horse shows etc. and thought they had a good reputation. Remember though, a horses coat is not nearly as long or thick as most dogs coats. I am going to try the A6 this time and if that doesn't last any longer I guess I will have to shear him like a sheep. I feel like I don't have a lot of choice on what brands to use, because I have probably $500 in clipper blades I have bought!! I always do a Cocker strip on him so there is a lot of curly hair on his legs and sides. I will post an update on the A6 clippers and the replacement parts. A swivel cord would be an excellent feature on these clippers!

Oster really blew it with this one!
I NEVER thought I would ever be so disappointed by an Oster clipper but this one is the worst, most poorly made clipper I have ever purchased. I have 3 standard poodles whom I groom myself and Oster was always the gold standard for grooming equipment in my opinion. This clipper was meant to augment my old A5 2 speed, which is still running well but doesn't have the speed of this newer model. It took a couple of months after I started using it for this malfunction to develop and it is now out of warranty so I'm stuck with it. This clipper has some sort of defect in the motor which causes it to overheat, vibrate like crazy and run in an uncontrolled manner once the blade is attached and put under load. The motor over-revs, the clipper vibrates loudly and my dogs, who have been groomed by me for years won't let me near them once it starts making a loud, screaming noise. I have read other negative reviews about this particular model. I don't know if this is a problem limited to a certain production run or if the whole line needs to be overhauled. I would caution anyone who wants to purchase this clipper to use it as soon as you get it and see if it is satisfactory.

Hot and over priced
First off the clipper is advertised in many areas. This one promised no heating. Runs cool…..DOES RUN VERY HOT. It was 150$ more then the other ones ( there were many) cheaper. Please note the others were exactly the as these EXACT WATCH IT

Great clipper, but overheats!
This clipper does an excellent job cutting through my Shih-tzu/lhasa-apso's super thick coat. I purchased the clipper guards to change the sizes but it does not clip as well as the prongs get caught in his fur. When I use the blade alone it works perfectly. My main complaint however is that the clipper overheats rapidly and I have to either take breaks frequently or cool the clippers some way (I've literally stuck them onto ice cubes to cool it). If it weren't for the overheating, I'd give them 5 stars!

Great Product
Cuts way better and faster then the $50 kit I purchased the last two times. Two cuts on dog so far and that means this is half paid for already. I need to shave my golden down to half inch during the summer due to a skin condition and too much lake time. I am able to keep it up over the summer now and not let her grow out between cuts. Worth the extra price when you consider ease of use and cost savings over professional cuts.

NOT impressed
we have 4 dogs and 2 cats that we wanted to use this shaver on. The first one went fairly well although we had to take several brakes to let the blade cool down even after spraying the cooling lubricant on it. We tried 1 cat and could NOT get the clippers to finish the cat. just kept catching non-stop. We bought the extra blades specific for cats... didn't matter. Tried 1 more dog and GAVE UP! This thing is a piece of junk. NOW we are back to going to the groomers for all our pets. WASTE of MONEY... don't buy
