I purchased the Suunto 5 peak mainly for navigation and it works well.
The screen could be a little brighter and larger, but I imagine it was based on creating a longer battery life. It’s exercise track and features work well, but I think the graphic interface could be simpler.

Very hard to read watchface: very dim display with a wide bezel
The funtionality of this watch is excellent except for one thing: it is very hard to read the display. It is due to two things: the display is very dim and the effective screen area is small due to the wide bezel. The picture shows the comparison with an other watch made by Huawei. The external dimensions of the watches are the same: 46 mm. The effective display diameter of the watch faces differ by 10 mm though: 30 mm (Suunto) vs 40 mm (Huawei). The dimness and the small effective screen area make this watch very hard to read. Returning the item.

Suunto watch
Pretty cool watch but the display is small and dim. Very expensive as well for what it is. I returned it and bought an Apple Watch Series 7 for less money and my Apple Watch does so so so much more.

Amazing Watch
I had been eyeing these watches for a while and wasn’t sure if I wanted to spend the money. I found a refurbished Suunto 5 and purchased it. I am glad I got it as I have used it every day to do some sort of exercise. It pairs with my Suunto heart monitor so I don’t need my phone with me to exercise. The GPS also seems to be very accurate as even under heavy layers of clothing it doesn’t lose signal. I have been extremely pleased with my purchase.

great light gps watch
I've had the Suunto Spartan sport hr watch for at least six years. I had it custom made for me, have loved it all this time. The 5 Peak has all the same features built into it that my Spartan has as far as gps, heartrate, tracking, ect. I love that that the peak 5 is so much smaller and lighter than the Spartan. The only difference 's between the two would be that the 5 doesn't have the touch screen that the Spartan has. Plus my Spartan has a Sapphire face, where the 5 in the specs. says only a plastic face. Don't have any marks on it yet but will see how it goes. Both have been great.

Nice functional toy watch
I got this watch to measure my heart rate while running so I can keep on eye on it. It's super light and comfortable, as well as fits very well, so it's not an encumbrance to wear while performing some activity. Some of the reviews claimed it doesn't fit certain wrist sized. Not sure that's accurate. The band seems very accommodating. I'm pretty pleased with this purchase. It's not a super feature rich watch like some of the more expensive versions, but it does the trick for me. It is dim so you might have to tap a toggle to wake up the screen but it's not much of an issue. Saves battery life. Other than that I can't seen any negatives.

400 bucks for KFC ads directly to you!
Not sure why Suunto has KFC ads on my watch, my phone doesn't allow any notifications to go through however somehow the watch vibrates and sends its own advertisements that are EXTREMELY unwanted and unwarranted. Also the screen on the 5 peak is PLASTIC and will scratch. Not worth the money.

Love this watch!
I purchased the Suunto 5 as a replacement for my Suunto Spartan Trainer. This new watch is classy looking and has a few new features that I find very useful. The watch is accurate and lightweight. I have used it for kayaking and walking so far. I hope to use it for biking, swimming next summer and hopefully start dressage riding soon. The watch keeps accurate readings. The reason I mention these various is that it is hard to find a fitness tracker that includes these sports at this price point.

Not the best screen out there but does the job
In general agree with what others wrote. Still confusing the navigation with buttons only, but that's just me not learning how to use it..it is not really straight fwd. Screen is dimmed, like watching through the fog, but when compared to my Samsung G3 has some prons and cons. Screen alone is inferior to the one of Samsung, but does better job on simple things. Like if I am in the gym waiting for a coach to say Go I have to navigate G3 to the exercise I want and wait. If coach didn't say Go within 5 seconds G3 turns off the screen and resets itself to the main menu, so once I hear Go I need to navigate all the screens to my exercise so I miss half of the workout. Exremely annoying. Suunto stays and waits until you click something. I really like that. In addiiton despite being dimmed the screen always shows time. G3 doesn't, it has that hand flip move that should turn screen on when you look into it but works in less than 50% of tries. This one is always on...Screen is not ideal crisp but readable. I don't use it for fancy things, just show me distance, time and heart rate while running and I am happy. It does what I need. It is a watch designed to be worn all the time, around the clock..believe that low resolution dimmed screen is made that way so it can run for days on single charge. Not a bad trade off. I live in Vancouver, BC and for both my watches GPS signal is weak for some reason. Same is for my phone. Dono why. G3 is a decent watch, but after last update one of the 2 buttons doesn't work and it has some introduction flashscreen showing functions of the watch and forcing you to use every feature to get familiar. Because of that splashscreen watch became unusable, can't pass the point where that button needs to be pressed. That's why I got Sunnto. For half the price of G3 it does fair job so far. I have it for about a month now...still wish someone would make a smart watch with a big, square screen, something like a smart phone with hand strips...these small screens are still hard to read unless your site is 20/20. but didn't see anyone doing it better, so Suunto is a good value for money.
