A must have.

After having some trim slip off the original support that came with my Dewalt 723 stand and get damaged, I bought this one for the sliding extension and moved the narrow original one inboard to the saw horse. After laying a long straight board on edge to a-line all of them (supports) to the saws base I found the new one to be a must have and very productive. It doesn’t take very many damaged pieces of wood from slipping off the original narrow support to justify the cost of purchasing this wider support.

Great Supports, But Unreliable Board Stops

Cutting wide stock without these supports is awkward at best, hazardous at worst. I replaced all 4 standard supports that come with theDEWALT DWX723 Heavy Duty Miter Saw Stand with these wide supports and have no regrets about spending the money to do so. A very worthwhile investment! The Good: Easily supports material up to 12 inches wide (stair treads, 2x12s, etc.) Very easy to install and remove/replace for cleaning sawdust from your stand. Easy to move inward and outward on the stand for different length stock. The Bad: Surprisingly, they are not designed level to the height of any of Dewalt's miter saw tables. You will have to make initial height adjustments, and occasionally readjust depending on the weight of the material you've been working with. The height adjustments are somewhat clumsy (have to adjust both sides), and getting them perfectly level requires patience. The height adjustments also feel a little flimsy, and I have concerns about ruining them by over-tightening. As you can see from the photo, there is only a single securing bolt on the bottom. This single bolt creates a pivot point that allows the support to wobble (even when cranked down rrreeeeaaaallly hard), so the board stop cannot be relied upon for precise recuts. Even positioning them for recuts is a challenge because the stop also rocks backward with very slight pressure. Unfortunately, this is a pretty major drawback in a board stop, and the main reason for the 4 star review. (Side note: I ended up making my own, more dependable board stop by mounting a steel angle to an additional mounting bracketDEWALT DW7231 Miter-Saw Workstation Tool Mounting Brackets For shorter cuts, this has worked wonders for me.) Overall, I am very satisfied with the purchase, and am certain I could not get by without them.

Great add on!

Nice add to an already great stand. Supports wider width material better. Allows the shorter support to stay in between this larger one. Creates an intermediate support for shorter lengths and as a bump block for repetitive short cuts.

Good For 12" or so cross cut

The media could not be loaded. Series of pictures..... Notice you lose about 3" of support....but maybe not for some saws. Perfect for me, because I can only cross cut 12"...... or 24" depending on my needs. Would NOT pay 75 bucks for this (current price), even at 56 bucks, I hesitated some.... (rash decision....be careful here~ lol)... it does it's job. It's centered on the stand, so getting the full 15 inches highly depends on your saw placement. If you line up your saw's fence to seat evenly with the short supports that come with the stand, you lose 3 inches. If you set the saw so the fence lines up with the back end of the long support, you lose some support with the short supports.....because the long supports are not adjustable. So why not just have the long supports come with the stand????? The great deal I got on the stand paid for this long support. One day, I suppose I'll be really glad I did this.

Estafado

Estuve rastreando este producto durante algún tiempo y su precio era de $1500 mxn, la semana pasada que fué el famoso hot sale lo compre en $1136 mxn y en esta semana cuesta $800mxn. La verdad me siento estafado y eso del hot sale es un verdadero fraude! Es un muy buen producto para las sierra DEWALT. Lástima del precio.

Very happy. Much better than the smaller ones.

These always seem a little expensive to me, but the smaller ones that came with my stand were driving me nuts when it came to cutting long baseboards and the pieces kept falling off the support. These are much better. Super easy to switch out. Just wish they came with the stand to begin with.

So crazy overpriced. It's no different than any other saw stand. They want your money and that's it. Dewalt is riding its reputation only now

highly recommended.

Makes my stand so much more versatile since i now have two supports on each side of the saw making long or wide boards more stable and not prone to sliding off and marring delicate wood and or finishes. Well worth it, highly recommended.
