7+ years going strong
I bought this pull up bar in 2016 and mounted the brackets to the door jam. It has never fallen and has always preformed well. If I didn't have the brackets on, it for sure would have came falling down though. Not because it isn't strong enough to hold itself up, but because it's too strong and was spreading the doorframe when I had it too tight and would have slipped and fallen from the gap it created. So I recommend using the brackets with screws and tightening the bar till its snug (but not too tight) and then it should last a long time like mine has.

Exactly as expected
I weigh 170 and it works great for me. My concern was it spinning while in use. I do over hand grip, so I just flip the bar over to where it would spin in the tightening position. Overall works great and does not spin lose for me.

sturdy and secure
I used 2 inch deck screws on the mounting plates to go through the door frame and into the studs. I've been doing pullups and other exercises for a week or two now, and it is rock solid.

I installed the bar between me and the washing machine to remind me to do a few pullups when I walk through the door. It is sturdy and easy to install.

How do I stop it from loosening?
The bar is relatively easy to install and is a good piece of metal, but once extended and tightened into place (by turning one or both of the ends, per the instructions), it loosens with every pull up or hang and needs constant retightening which is going to crack my door frame apart, and cause door alignment problem eventually. How do I stop it from loosening itself or turning after it's tightened?

Great pull up bar! P90X for 4 YEARS on this thing; just ordering a replacement.
Great pull up bar. PROS: The bar is designed well, it is relatively easy to install, it is sturdy, it fits multiple door widths, and it is only $14!\ CONS: Some people mention the "spinning" issue of the bar. It is true that this bar is composed of 3 bars, and if you do not have it positioned properly, it will spin, which will make certain pullups less comfortable. However, if you just take the bar, turn the bar 180 degrees, and put it in, the problem is essentially gone. So, I do not see this as a downside. There are machines at my gym that have bigger problems than this. Second, if you have an old or improperly installed door, yes, the corners will likely start to split. Not much, but a few millimeters. It will probably not be noticeable if you take the bar off (e.g. if you are renting and you move). So this was not a big problem for me. Next, the had grips will eventually start to tear. This is nice at first because you can move them (in the "new" state, they cannot be moved, which is a downside for me); however, they will eventually be torn off. This will take many years though. The bar will also start to bend, over the course of ~4 years with consistent use. BOTTOM LINE: Overall, this is a great pull up bar that does what it is supposed to do, lasts for many years (my previous one lasted 4 years! This is my second time purchasing it), and is relatively inexpensive. I have been doing the P90X routine with this bar from 2011 to 2015, so I can tell you that I have used this bar more than almost anyone else on Amazon. The bar has been great. I have a few minor concerns per above, and if some of them could be addressed (e.g. the hand grips, the spinning), I would give it 5 stars.

Good stuff
Received the product on time. The quality is good, and it's strudy. Even without using the provided screws it is able to support my weight of 70 kgs.

Overwhelmingly average.
Got this when I was about 215 pounds and it held up great. I never used the screws to screw in the metal cup that adds stability I'm assuming. The rubber padding on both ends works fine. Like a lot of what other reviews say, this can really bend your door frame 100 percent but it really depends on how much you need to expand the bar in order to support your weight. It can get pretty obvious for painted door frames. If you are a lot lighter than 200+ pounds then you should be alright. Also note that for the first few weeks or so, a bit of black colour will rub off. I have white door frames so it was easy to spot, nothing really too much to worry about, it's pretty easy to clean off. A limitation I found with this bar is that door frames aren't really wide enough for the wide grip pull ups. My elbows eventually press against the door frame restricting further movement upwards for a proper wide grip pull up. I believe form is key to having an effective workout and unless you can find a wide enough space for yourself, wide grip pull ups are not going to happen. Foam padding is also limited to where it looks like in the photo. Sometimes I will cover the ends with a towel so that it's more comfortable while doing wide grip leg raises. Unless you have an insanely tall door frame, you will almost always have your legs curled up while doing pull ups. Overall a good buy. Especially if you're on a budget. In my opinion this is a great way to improve upper body strength. Pretty satisfied with the buy.

Love it
Easy to install but I used better and longer screws . Sturdiness was good but make sure you tighten up the bar the more you use it ,it loosen up so better to check first before using it cuz I fell once. I'm happy with this one and price really reasonable.

Great, but haven't used a lot
Great, but hard to implement in a home gym. Solid product, however. If you want to do pull-ups in your doorway, this will definitely do the job with ease. I weigh 185lbs and it handled my weight with ease.

It's great for the cost of it, and it's easy to install. Just make sure your door frame can handle it.
