Best Father's Day gift ever!!!

I purchased the cooler for Father's Day, but I almost turned it down based on some of the negative comments about the "lack of insulation". If you're in the same position, trust me, it's worth it. The first time we used it, we put in a small bag of ice and some beer, and after 4 hours in 90 degree weather (partial shade), only half the ice was melted. The way the cooler part is constructed is its the hard plastic outside, then sheets of Styrofoam, about half an inch thick, on the sides and bottom and then a plastic waterproof liner. This doesn't sound like much until you think about how that waterproof liner alone is probably the same as your average soft cooler. There is no foam on the top cover, but i measured it, and it's actually thicker than one of our favorite hard coolers, and probably similar material, so that counts as insulation for me at least. Also, the cooler wasn't the easiest thing I've ever assembled, some of the pieces are a little awkward to snap together, but I was able to do it just fine on my own. I do suggest you skim the instructions before you put it together, though, or at least read them carefully while putting it together, there are a few tab/slots on the sides that I could see breaking if you don't know they're there. But the instructions are very easy to understand and point out possible pitfalls very clearly. All in all, I am so happy I bought this, my dad was (and still is) thrilled to pieces about it.

I can not vouch for the endurance of this product. Just got it today. Put it together by myself....petite 44 yr old lady. Sooooo glad I didn't get my husband to do it. He would have lost his mind! The directions do not communicate well. It wasn't terribly hard, but give yourself time and use your own common sense to translate what the directions are trying to tell you. Overall it's a decent piece. It's very plastic. And looks as though...but I'm hopeful to get a few summers out of it. Would NOT pay full price for it. Got it on sale for 90 something. So far, it seems it could be worth that. Big compartment. But I would be leary of weighing it down too much. If it breaks...it's done. I like that we can wheel it around and then lock it in place.

Buggers to put together!!

Love the cooler for what it does, but hatted putting it together. My daughter bought the first one and I put it together only when I put the back piece on one of the rectangular box's you have to line up slipped and did not go in. Once this last piece is snapped in it was impossible to get apart even with the directions from the Customer Service agent who was quite helpful. Got so frustrated that I ordered another and gave the new one to my kids and took the old one. It took the 3 of us over a hour and a half getting it together again with the back not wanting to line up. My son in law is pretty strong and that's what helped us. We pushed the back on from the inside as he pushed from the outside, confusing but it finally worked. So we tried the same on the other and worked on that one for another half hour but finally got the piece lined up. After the back went on the rest was a piece of cake. Once they were finally put together we love them and his kept ice in it outside till the next morning. Sure we will get plenty of use out of these now that they are put together.

A very cool cooler.

It was easy to assemble and appears it will hold a lot of ice and drinks in the top half of the cooler. The bottom half has a door for storage. It comes with locking wheels to keep the cooler in place. The only thing I need to test is how long the ice will stay. It is insulated by five large squares of Styrofoam inside the cooler and the interior shell is a poly vinyl insert that is form fitted to the interior. It has a drain plug on the bottom so you can drain the melted ice through a plastic tube out the back of the cooler. On one side is an metal basket that attaches . Since I am using this in and outside bar I can put liquor bottles in there. Even the 1.75ml fit nicely. The other side has a bar that you can use as a towel rack. I purchased this from Amazons used inventory at a discount and once again I was not disappointed. The cooler was listed as having minimal damage on the side ( less than 5%) but when it arrived it looked perfect. I haven't used it yet but if the ice stays cold it will go from 4 stars to 5.

Helped Us Keep Our Cool

After reading the reviews, I wasn't sure about this product. With outside temperatures in the high 90's to 100 range, I just wasn't sure a plastic cooler would do the trick but it did! I filled the cooler with ice and added many many beverages to it. The beverages were kept very cold and there was still ice in the cooler three days later when I finally got around to emptying it. I was amazed! The plug at the bottom very efficiently allows the cooler to completely empty and it drains out through a small hose at the back of the unit. We had some strong wind gusts while this was in use and the cooler was quite sturdy. The wire side basket was useful as well as the towel rack on the opposite side. We did not use the storage cubby at the bottom. I imagine you could store additional beverages there so they could be added to the cooler as needed. It is wheeled and moved well on our brick patio when we unlocked the wheels to do so. My only concern was a slight separation of the sidewall at one point but it readily snapped back into place (probably our operator error). This is a nice alternative to a regular ice chest and our guests liked that it was a good height and held lots of beverages.

nice coolers

Nice coolers, very easily assembled. My only concern is: how long will the plug in the interior plastic lining last. The plastic seems very brittle and may break easily. The rest of the cooler seems well made

Easy to put together the only thing I'm not crazy ...

Easy to put together the only thing I'm not crazy about is the cooler liner - I can't see this vinyl lining last very long.
