Great flashlight.
I have had one of these for 6+ years, it has always been very dependable. I bought one for my son for his job and it has been great for him. Easy to carry and not bulky.

Cures what ails you...
Several years ago I bought my first Strion, and shortly thereafter another... as the saying goes, two is one and one is none... They both worked perfectly. Every Time. This is critical. When it's dark, I'm doing my thing, other people are doing their thing, and our things aren't in agreement, I need a flashlight that does its job without fail. The Strions do just that. Point this in a dark room, and it lights it up. This has the narrow beam, not the wide one of the other Strion, yet the reflected light is plenty enough to see nefarious activity in most if not all of a room. With the narrow beam, you can also see deep into yards, and it will punch through fairly thick fog. The last thing you want to do is get right up on something/someone so your torch can throw enough light on them to see what's what. It will temporarily blind someone in the dark, and partially blind someone in full daylight. This is good stuff. It can buy you a couple seconds when things get interesting, and those might be your favorite seconds ever. I don't use the strobe, but it's there if you want it. If you have a Strion when the inevitable Flashlight Guy Gathering takes place, your Man Card will be secure regardless of what kind of ridiculously expensive fancy flashlight the other guys drag out. This little guy will hold its own. (it's a guy thing ladies, so just laugh at us and don't sweat it) The battery holds a charge for a long time. Not sure how long, because I've gone many months without using them, picked them up, hit the switch, and they fire right up. I've also never worn out, or even depleted, a battery, though I make sure they're charged when there's business to attend to. I don't carry spare batteries, since that's yet more stuff to charge, keep track of, and so on. I carry the spare Strion, because when I need light, I don't usually have the time and opportunity to fiddle around with batteries and such. My hands are a big long and gangly, yet it fits nicely in my hand, with my thumb on the end cap switch. This is not a traditional method for holding a flashlight, however it is a much better position if one should suddenly feel the need to defend themselves. With the traditional method, you must either reposition your hand/arm/shoulder, or hope they think you're Harry Potter and you're going to turn him into a platypus or something. You can still use this in a traditional way, but you can't access the switch, so if you're hunting for a circuit breaker or your daughter's favorite toy that somehow ended up deep under the couch, you're still golden. A very minor complaint. While they are rugged and work just fine after, say, getting dropped on a steep driveway and rolling down 20 feet while I chase after it like a scene from a Mr. Bean movie, they will get scratched up pretty bad. It looked like it had been through several wars, and there were pits and dents all over. Kinda stinks when you pay this much for a flashlight to have it look like Bill Clinton jumped its bones. Anyway, my two beloved Strions have disappeared due to some life events, and I've recently replaced them. And of course they are still awesome! If you go by lumens and other numbers, there are brighter flashlights out there. I've seen plenty of really cool really bright flashlights, some costing several hundred dollars. I would pay the price if I thought it was worth it, since this is an uber-important tool. Surefire has some very good torches. I stick with the Strion for my main light, because it's proven itself time and again. If you need a massive light source in a compact package, get this. Highly Recommend!

Still works great after 10 years.
A great flashlight. It had some dents and bangs on the aluminum case, so it must have been dropped hard, and still works. I replaced the battery once in ten years. The 110v charger transformer blew up once, cracking the case, but a replacement charger was readily available.

Pretty darn bright for such a little flashlight, but not as bright as I had hoped
If your a law enforcement officer then chances are you use or know someone in law enforcement that uses the Streamlight Strion. It's a pretty popular little torch. It's also small enough and bright enough for tactical weapon applications, so it's been used a lot in the past and still in the present for Swat weapon applications. But there are brighter flashlights out there for weapon mount purposes that are about the same size or smaller, but most of them cost at least twice as much, so that is something to consider. Of course one big plus about the Strion is that it contains a rechargable battery that pretty much will never need to be replaced because it can take as many as 500 full recharges, and that means this little flashlight is extremely economical while still being bright enough for pretty much most law enforcement uses. I've tested this light in every possible situation you might deal with, and it does get the job done. It has a very good hot spot and plenty of flood to illuminate the surrounding area. And for such a small flashlight it is suprising how far it will throw a beam. I directed the Strion at the back of a house that was 50 yards away and it lit most of the rear of the house over a fence nearly as bright as a standard police vehicle spotlight. It didn't quite get there but the result was reasonably good considering this little guy is not much bigger than a mini mag light. I pointed the beam about 30' upward and about 60 yards away into the branches of a palm tree and it lit it up very brightly. I also shot the beam at the back of another house about 130 yards away and though the beam was dimmer you could still make out everything pretty good. Even at that distance if you were awake in a room of that house and the light was shining in your window you'd notice it and likely go to the window to check where the light was coming from. I then pointed the beam at a large tree that I could barely see that was about 300 yards away. You could barely see the beam on the tree but you could see it. So this light has distance limitations if your trying to spot for instance a suspect in a field at more than 230 yards or so. It simply won't handle that kind of distance. Also a spotlight will give more luminance at 200 yards than the Strion will. So that is something to consider. A buddy of mine has one of the Surefires that is about the same size as the Strion and rated at 180 lumens compared to the 160 of the Strion. Both have the same C4 LED, but his Surefire is about 50% brighter than the Strion is. The difference is substantial. On the other hand despite this the beam of his Surefire won't throw as far as the Strion will for some reason, but anything less than 100 yards away the Surefire blows the Strion away. However his Surefire is available for no less than $60 more than you can get the Strion for. And the Surefire is not rechargable. and that makes the Strion seem more attractive over all. So I think it depends on what is best for your personal needs. Some of the most recent LED tactical lights on the market will certainly blow the Strion away for a lot more moola of course. But there are more economical ways to get a brighter light that is a good quality light for just a little bit more money. One company that seems to be filling this need for brighter flashlights is Olight. From what I have been hearing they make excellent quality lights and have offerings for as little as $130 that can realistically put out 500 real time lumens. Olight tends to over state their lumen ratings but I have seen a couple of their lights in action and they put out considerably more than one such as the Strion does. In conclusion the Strion is probably one of the brightest small lights on the market, and as long as your not expecting miracles you will be pleased with this light.

Have two now 7 years used almost daily and still working perfect on original batteries!
They cost a little bit more maybe, but worth every penny. Bought one for the home and then another a year later for the truck. Both get used at least every other day. Having them on a charger means everyone knows where they are and so really these are the only flashlights the family uses. Incredibly durable and provide a nice light, they have even replaced my shop lights for working on cars most of the time by using them with a magnetic clamp. A truly great product.

Repaired under warranty twice in 2 years
Wasn’t assembled properly from the factory and would randomly cut out. Had to have it repaired under warranty twice within two years. I wouldn’t buy again.

Great professional flashlight.
I've been using this product for a couple of years now. It's always on my belt. I have dropped it, my dog had run off with it and it does what it suppose to do. Having three power levels is also a great thing along with a battery charger flashlight holder.
