An actual review of the 2AA model

I ordered the item listed as Dualie 2AA, and big surprise - I got the 2AA version! I got this instead of the 3AA model because the clip rotates, which gives more choices to clip the light to something and have it point where I need it. And it comes with a magnet included for no extra cost. The magnet is strong enough to hold it securely when attached to a metal surface. Plus, unlike the 3AA version, the main beam is wider, and it actually overlaps with the secondary flood beam. But despite all these neat design features, I can't recommend the light because the output drops drastically when the battery voltage drops. And not just for your typical alkaleak cells. I put in two healthy NiMH rechargeable cells reading about 1.28v each, and to my dismay, the light output was only about 10 - 20 percent of what you get with fresh alkaleaks. The normal voltage for NiMH cells is about 1.2-1.3v, but because of their superior chemistry, they typically perform better than alkaleaks in modern LED flashlights, giving a more steady output over time, and sometimes longer runtime. But because of the primitive electronic circuit in this light, it performs much worse. And since I normally use NiMH rechargeable cells in all my AA and AAA lights, this is a major problem. So unless you get a free supply of fresh AA cells, I can't recommend this light.

Bright and Handy

Great flashlight to be using while working in Hazardous Areas offshore, has a magnetic base and comes in real handy to keep a hand free, the side light often provides a better light as it is not so focused, the main beam is very bright. It does withstand dropping repeatedly as well with no issues. Will buy again and fully recommend to friends and crew.

This flashlight is a perfect tool for all Electricians because of the Magnetic End which works perfect when working inside steel Electrical Distribution Panels. Especially when checking on failed Electrical Circuits.

Great little flashlight

Great little flashlight, but be aware that the photo shown for this product is the 3aa, not the 2aa. The 2aa does not have the integrated clip. Photo included, lighter for scale.

Both did not work!

First off I will say I have numerous, literally Streamlights and have referred them to my friends. Secondly, Streamlight is a solid, sincere company who WIILL MAKE IT RIGHT! That being said, I have NO disappointment with Streamlight. The first 2AA did not work out of the box. The second, I tested and used before I went camping: Used it twice and it would no longer turn on.Batteries good. Was too late to return to Amazon, who is hard-core , zero humanity company that we subsidize in their mailings...Contacted Streamlight and I can never be happier! I do not need garbage lights from Harbor Freight, or anywhere else: MY go to needs have ALWAYS been cared for at StreaMLIGHT! This light was just bad, FOR ME! Thank You-Bone

Poor quality, save your money for something better.

I really liked this light when I first got it, it seemed to be of high quality and I was happy with the light it produced. The switch failed before ever having to replace the batteries and some of the plastic casing had also broken.

Get the 3 AA version

Get the 3 AA version. I was expecting a bit more out of this but the runtime and overall lumens is a bit disappointing.
