Does the basics well

I bought the green Streamlight flip lens (69117) for my ProTac HL LED headlamp, which has a 30mm bezel, and it fits perfectly. It flips open without too much fuss and closes the same. As pointed out by many other reviewers, the lens filters out about 75% of the 635 lumens that my headlamp is rated for, so if you are looking for something that can illuminate out to 200 yards or so, you're better off buying a true green LED flashlight - I've purchased the Odepro KL52 Plus for that purpose and I've been quite happy with it. However, if you have a relatively high lumen flashlight to mount the flip lens on and are looking for something that can provide enough green light to help you navigate your way through the woods, that preserves your night vision, and doesn't spook your prey, this will likely fit the bill. One thing to note is that this does not cast green light like a green LED. While the flip lens casts a green light, if you look at the lens from an angle while the light is on (Obviously without looking directly into the light), you'll see more of a strong aqua color instead of green. My reason for bringing this up is that I'm not sure if the filter cuts the white light down to that 540 nm sweet spot that most hunters are looking for. Unfortunately, I won't know this for certain until I get into the field.

Not For TLR-3 Or TLR-4

Well made and does serve a great function which is controls light "splash" at night. Every operator that will find themselves on night maneuvers MUST have one of these! I don't know why these red lens aren't more popular. I used to teach a class on the effectiveness of red light at night. I bought this hoping that it would work on my TLR-3 light. It does fit and work, but does so very loosely! If you take off the red lens, the ring is not snug enough to hold it on and it will fall off while handling the weapon. I don't own a TLR-1 or 2 so couldn't tell you how it fits on those two weapon lights.

Purchased 1/5/2023 this does not fit the Streamlight Protac HL-X w/ touchpad. Not even close! I just wanted to clear that up because there is a lot of confusion on the subject. It does however fit my Inforce WMLx 800 very well which is why I kept it and gave it 3 stars.

The IR window attaches perfectly to a TLR-1 HL tactical light, with no visible light leakage detectable. I can't speak to how durable the rubber hinge is or how it would hold up to heavy use, because I am not putting this through heavy use, but the rubber seems sturdy enough (could the rubber crack or fail later on? don't know). I use this as supplemental illumination for a PVS-14 monocular to spy on wildlife at night, and even though the visible light output of the Streamlight is 800 lumens (blinding), when passed through the IR filter the IR lighting effect is understandably quite diminished compared to the unfiltered visible light output as viewed through the night vision monocular. Viewed through the monocular, the IR-filtered Streamlight will illuminate a darkened room the way a weak flashlight would, but I can't say how far it would penetrate a pitch-black outdoor scene, which I don't have around here. But if you make the light source brighter than this, then you might create a faint dull-red glow light signature, since IR filtration is never 100%. If you stare into the IR filtered Streamlight while in pitch darkness, you can in fact see a faintly visible dull-red glow if you are quite close up to the light, but probably not from across a room. Can't say how this would meet the needs of a professional who relies on night vision in critical situations.

Well made

I purchased this item for a Pro Tac Rail Mount HL-X. This item will NOT fit that light, even though I found on the internet it would fit. This lens is well made, and I highly recommend it for any of the lights it will fit. The seller issued a refund for my mistake without any issues!

Works as advertised

This product, as any product from streamlight, is extremely good quality and works as well as you would figure. They keep the light level down, but flood a decent area with my streamlight strion. They do illuminate very well for night optics as well. We use them in a contract we have with a dispensary grow house, so bright white light was a nogo from the customer. This is an excellent filter that is approved for usage.

Streamlight Flip Lens for TLR Series Lights, Red

Prior to ordering, I already knew from reading other reviews that the pic provided was not the item being sold, so that wasn't an issue for me. One of the other reviewers mentioned that the red lens is not dark enough. Mine is just fine. In fact, mine is almost too dark. My guesstimate is that the effective range of my TLR1 is cut by at least 1/2 (your mileage may vary), but my night vision is spared by the warm red glow provided by this lens cover. Overall, it's perfect for close-in work (20 yards and under) in situations where maintaining your night vision is a must. If and when you do need the full effect of your bright, white LEDs to "light up" some bad guys, the cover can be easily pulled off. Note that I said "pulled off" and not "flipped off". Unless you mount the hinge sideways (at a 90 degree angle to your weapon), there's really no way to effectively flip the lens cover open; you will need to grasp it between finger and thumb to remove it. I don't see that as a problem, so I didn't mark down for that. The unit slips on fine without a hitch. It's made of what appears to be a quality rubber (not hard, cheap plastic)and I doubt the hinged portion will wear out any time soon. A "must have" for the serious tactical rifleman.

Awesome

For any skeptics, this filter still threw a beam out to 25M NO problem. Attached to TLR-1 HL @ 800 lumens. I’m quite confident it’ll go even further, but I’ve had a couple beer and can’t quite see straight. Will follow up tomorrow
