Nice Addition to the Game
I am in the process of learning Scythe & this was a really nice addition to the game. I will definitely keep the little box since the artwork is great. Can’t wait to get into it more!

Our go-to board game! Never gets old
We are somewhat choosy about the board games we buy, and this one did not disappoint. The box is lovely in itself and hefty. The gameboard and pieces are of excellent quality and the artwork is fantastic. Game play takes a few hours if you are playing with ppl who like to think their moves through, but it makes for a wonderful evening and so much fun. It never gets old. Definitely recommend!

Great upgrade for one of our favorite games
If you love Scythe, play it often, think it's great you'll appreciate this upgrade. I would say this is quite possibly our number one game of all time, so we have slowly upgraded as much of it as possible. We play it often enough that we've gone through all the base game event cards and wanted more for variety. The art on these is still amazing and fabulous and many bring in ties to Wind Gambit which is fun. It's more of the same of what you are used to, so again I will mostly recommend this for very frequent players of the base game and those who want to upgrade their game to get even more enjoyment out of it. For the average Owner who plays Scythe less often, it's a personal choice then, if you like upgrading and having everything for a game you fit the target audience for this as well. Otherwise I won't say this is necessary or game changing in any way, the variety in cards is already there with the base game so this is just for fun or wouldn't be needed at all for other players. If there were ever a new bunch of Factory cards I could get my hands on that would be in my opinion a more almost required purchase.

Added Variety
I love the new encounter options that these cards create and the variety that they add to the gameplay. Most of the original encounter cards follow a very specific format between your three options - but this deck adds some variety in the three options. Some follow the traditional format while a large number provide a fun twist in your options (such as flipping a coin, saving the card for a secret objective, etc.). I highly recommend these additional encounter cards for any fan of Scythe.

Great little expansion for the game Scythe. Encounter Cards are really outside the box compared to originals, to the point where games can be lost or won depending on which ones you discover.

Great Expansion - requires base game
Great expansion to the base game. Contains a bunch of new encounter cards that makes the base game more unpredictable and enjoyable for people who love and play Scythe a lot!

Great additions or Replacement to base game encounters
Scythe Encounters provides 32 new cards to be added to, or replace, the encounters found in the base game of Scythe. These cards offer events that can drastically change the game. They offer items that can greatly improve a players goods, forces, income, combat strength, and popularity to a greater level than the base game encounters. That is the main theme of this deck which is very overpowered outcomes. An example of this is a player obtaining 9 coins, or 5 popularity, by skipping their next turn. Another great addition is additional beneficial actions that may be used later. This involves players holding onto a card until they are able to play it. An example of this is a player being able to teleport to any mine or tunnel on the board when they choose to discard the card. This expansion makes encounters fun and enticing as players will want to obtain these new powerful cards before they are all taken. If this sounds like too much, they can easily be shuffled into the base encounter cards to make it only a possibility that an overpowered card can be found. This is a good addition to the game that can make encounters even more interesting.

A fun addition, but it changes the game
The use of these cards changes the game quite radically. It generates some fun situations, but it definitely affects play balance. I tend to seek out encounters much more when using these cards, especially if I am behind in the game, in hopes of finding a rescue. If you are serious about your strategy when playing Scythe, you probably won't like the random element the cards introduce. On the other hand, if you are looking for a more casual game of Scythe, they are fun to play with. A good addition, but not for use all the time (IMHO).

Awesome Addition to Scythe
This is possibly my favorite addition to the Scythe game. It almost makes the game a bit one-sided if you gather more encounters and are Polania.

I used it to supplement the encounters that come with the game normally. The new additions are fun and enhance the game.
