Long Cord and Good Assortment of Attachments

We bought this vacuum mainly because of the brand name - - Stanley. We have not been disappointed with the quality and ease of use of this vacuum cleaner. It does an excellent job of picking up dust, dirt and bits and pieces brought in from the yard by dogs and people. I find it a bit top heavy and loud. It is ok, this is mostly a work place vacuum cleaner. In our houses it cleans floors, carpets, curtains, furniture inside bathtubs (dogs like to hide there when playing) chewed remains of indestructible puppy chew toys, shredded paper, cardboard anything. (they are learning not to do this). The cord is a good length, it is very good to have extensions for the vacuum tubes and an assortment of "ends" to use. This is a quality Stanley product. It cleans the house and has done duty as a leaf blower and even a few times to clean a very dirty puppy.

sucks great but not a shop vac

a shop vac has a larger diameter hose. this is no bigger than your regular vacuum thus things it picks up can get stuck in the hose. for example one of my unopened diabetic needles. these are the little heads you screw onto your insulin pen. sucked it up lickity split and it was stuck in the very narrow tube. THAT being said if you want something that will really get that dust out of the carpet this baby sucks. Just dont think you can use it to suck up paper and kleenex etc or it will clog up the hose. in the OLD days a shop vac had a hose diameter that could pick up chunks of wood and other debris on the floor. this is not going to help you pick up little wood chunks. bark dust yes, lil chucks of wood and paper and kleenex...not without a clog you have to manually clean. IM KEEPING MINE and giving it 5 stars because the power of the suck is GREAT and I have a lot of dust in my carpets. it is a bit clunky to move around thought light weight. but that is because the hose is so stiff. I do not imagine any other brands hose is any less stiff. good value for the money.

This Stanley SL18116P WetDry Vacuum Is POWERFUL, Light-Weight, And It's A BARGAIN!

This "Stanley - SL18116P WetDry Vacuum, 6 Gallon, 4 Horsepower Black" is GREAT! I replaced a 6 gallon SHOP-VAC brand vacuum, that's motor started smoking... (I've always gotten the actual SHOP-VAC brand, and, I WAS happy with it, until it died!) FYI, it was one of those with the chromed metal can. But, THIS STANLEY SL18116P has a PLASTIC CAN, and it seems to be noticeably lighter, when I need to carry it around! The STANLEY SL18116P also has 4HP, rather than the 3.5HP that the SHOP-VAC had, and this Stanley vacuum REALLY WORKS WELL! BTW, several years ago, I fell for those stupid, fancy red-colored upright vacuums, for around the house... but, it turned out that they were NOT very good vacuums. Well, after a few of those kind of poor-excuses-for-a-vacuum, I decided to just bring my SHOP-VAC inside...! Ever since then, that's what I've used around the house, a SHOP-VAC. Actually, I also own a KERBY GEN4 upright, now, that I paid just $25 for, at a Garage Sale! (Which is something like $1,400 retail!) And, the KERBY REALLY DOES WORK WELL! But, I'll tell ya, this "Stanley - SL18116P WetDry Vacuum, 6 Gallon, 4 Horsepower Black" is every bit as powerful a suck-er as the KIRBY, and, it's much lighter, too! (Of course, it doesn't have any sort of a "beater-bar" attachment, but, it DOES come with the usual attachments, and it STILL DOES A GREAT JOB, especially IF you have hardwood, or tile floors!) PLUS, THIS SUCKER can literally LIFT THE CARPET OFF THE FLOOR! WOW! And, I think the PRICE is reasonable, for what you get! It could even be considered a BARGAIN! (Except, I just noticed, that it seems to have gone up 10 bucks, just since I bought it! But, still.) So, whether you're wanting a SHOP-VAC-type vacuum to use in your Shop, to vacuum your Car, for around the House, or WHATEVER, I would totally recommend this Stanley - SL18116P! I haven't used it for anything WET, yet, but, for DRY, it's REALLY GREAT! (NOTE: I did NOT receive this product through any Promotion, I bought and paid for it myself.)

A great product for the price!

I got this vacuum for general cleanup in my garage. It works exactly as described. Setup was simple and it worked right out of the box after I attached the filter and the wheels. The suction power is good and the bin has room for lots of dirt. I like the blocky handles and lid restraints, they seem high quality. The wheels are great. You can easily pull it behind you by the hose on a smooth surface. I wish the hose was a bit longer, but it comes with a bunch of extensions. I vacuumed by truck this morning and it ran great for over 30 mins without losing suction. Quality product. Would recommend.

So far, so good

Purchased this Stanley to replace a 30yo Shop Vac of the same size and was happy to find that the bags, longer hose, and the attachments I already had were all easily used on this new unit. Using the supplied foam and cloth filters it came pre-installed with, along with a bag, the suction was as expected and quite strong.

Very very sturdy and great value

I was skeptical to order this since there are brand name products out there for more money. This works perfectly in my garage and even has a filter that limits the dust from coming out. Great value for this awesome product!

Good product and nice features

Installation was easy. Parts are easily adjustable. Know the use before your use… Built quality good, ease of movement. Cord length is only downside. Plastic parts would detach sometimes between vacuum hose and attached pipes..

This vac is perfect for my needs at home. The suction power is sufficient. The vacuum did a great job on my car matts, and it easily picked up saw dust in the garage.

Good vacuum for a small shop

Pretty happy with this vacuum, do wish it came with a brush attachment but otherwise it is awesome.
