I've tried a few different methods. For best results, you need boiling hot water, and I use two heaping tablespoons of ground coffee. Add the two scoops of your favorite ground coffee to the cup, pour in your boiling water, close the lid, without adding the plunger thingy. Let it sit for five minutes. After five minutes, uncap, add your plunger strainer thingy, and slowly push the plunger down until you feel a little resistance at the bottom. You do not want to mash the grounds. re install the cap to the Stanley cup and pour yourself a steaming hot cup of coffee. I like to use a cup instead of drinking straight from the Stanley bottle, but I'm uppity like that. You can drink straight from the bottle. Notes: I really like this thing. I use it all the time, in the house and out. My GF doesn't like the smell of coffee and this keeps a lot of that contained until you want to pour a cup. Great idea for traveling and taking your coffee on the road. Very sturdy construction as are most Stanley products. I think this will last me for years to come.

If you're sitting on the fence hoping these reviews will sway you one way or the other.... Just buy it already, you wont be disappointed. My favorite eay to prepare coffee at home and camping. Seriously.

This thing was a great idea
I gave this as a gift to my daughter and she loves it. Not only does it make excellent French Press coffee, but she can also keep any drink in it cold or warm all day; plus it's made of very rugged stainless steel construction that will last many years vs the all-plastic junk that is mostly made today that might last a couple of years.

Best thing since sliced bread
The media could not be loaded. This is bar far the only way for me to drink coffee from know on. It paid for itself in the first month. Spending 3 or 4 bucks for coffee almost everyday adds up. Pods suck and tasted like burnt coffee. With this, the flavor is there and you can use whatever grinds you like, or have available. It keeps hot for about 5 hours, which if it takes you 5 hours to drink 16 ounces of coffee, then its on you. Doesn’t leak, so i can throw it in my bag in the morning. I keep a thermos of hot water so i can make a few of batches. Do not hesitate in buying this, once people start seeing how useful this is, the price will go up. My whole shift was impressed and by the end if the day, they all ordered one. Ditch the crap coffee and get one of these!

Unboxing product & Filter Torn (Replacement ordered)
As of 4/3/2023, I ordered a replacement travel mug. I ordered this item 4/1/2023, but the filter where it holds down the grounds was torn and upon unboxing it evident. Ill update my comments once I receive my 2nd STANLEY FRENCH PRESS TRVL MUG. Update: 4/5/2023, replacement received. Good as new. Video posted. Love this.

Robust, best-in-business heat retention
I use this Travel Press in sub-zero temperatures at 14,000 feet elevation on a construction site. It keeps the coffee hot all morning and no leaks, despite being dropped, bumped and rolled around.

Super handy
Haven't been able to enjoy hot coffee for a while since having our first kid. I really really have enjoyed the ability to make good quality coffee super quickly in this thing. It looks fantastic, and I'm super confident making it and throwing it into my duffle bag and not worrying about spilling. A bit pricey, but I'd buy it again. The lifetime warranty is pretty hard to beat. It's not the greatest for cleaning, but I'd say it's as good as it can get. I would probably like to have received a spare O-ring with it. It's held up great after probably 2 dozen presses, I just get the feeling it will need to be replaced at some point.

Good
Awsome product but dropped it and the lid broke at the hinge. Suppose to be lifetime haven't notified about them yet but I would like to see if they will send me a new lid. Otherwise works great still just a bummer it broke so easy.
