Decent

I generally enjoy this, except for when it gets stuck in one direction and it makes it difficult to get your ball back. I do enjoy the ball not hitting the goal, so I'm thankful for that at least.

use duck tape after assembling it!

my daughter used it to practice for her games and it was great but it rotated when it was on our basketball hoop. when we tried to adjust it, it snapped. we duck-taped it back together and also taped the ring part so it stopped rotating that seemed to do the trick! it's not the sturdiest thing but with some duck tape, it works!

Bought for a gift

Bought this as a gift for my son. It was simple to put together and snap on the hoop. It does the job of releasing balls that go thru the basket, my only negative is that it is not very strong and the ball jiggles on the way out and doesn’t return out very far. I would still recommend for a smaller child use.

Solid Concept and easy to assemble - needs modification to be functional

This is a great product at a great price if you are looking for a shot trainer and to get made baskets back to you. The reality is there is a flaw in the design with the RIM CLIPS, and made shots will knock them off the rim, especially after a few weeks of use and they seem to loosen. Very frustrating, as it happens every 5-10 shots and when you make shots.... I have read some modifications you can do to essentially cut a new hole in the straps they connect to in order to have a different place to secure them while the apparatus hangs on the basket. I don't like to order something that is supposed to work but doesn't and has to be modified by the user. Overall the product is a great idea but the clips are not even close to an ideal experience if they are popping off randomly on shots you are making. I would only recommend this product if you are able to modify the straps to get it to stay on the goal. Once one clip pops off, its unusable until you lower the goal (or get a ladder) and re-attach. Right now I can get about 6 made shots before a clip inevitably pops off. Hoping modification resolves this clear issue.

Works but seems a bit cheaply made

It does what it’s intended for but it moves on its own when you are using it and it’s not easy to rotate to where you want it when put on a hoop at regulation height… it seems rather flimsy and the straps you hook it to the hoop with are hard to get even so it’s not sitting lopsided

Works very well, does NOT last.

Before it breaks, this hoop return works beautifully. It nicely directs the ball back to you after a shot, and you can quickly and easily adjust the direction, unlike a lot of other hoop returners. The maddening things is that with only a little bit of extra materials cost they could have made this thing highly durable. But no. The plastic clips they went with, and the nylon straps, are not made to last. I was able to nurse the thing along with some jerry-rigging, but eventually too many of the parts broke and I had to give up on it. I should clarify that with the jerry-rigging I did manage to get a couple years worth of light use out of it, so I'm not saying the thing falls apart right out of the box. If you're willing to replace it after a year or two, and your highest priority is ease of installation and being able to adjust the angle without the need for a ladder (unless you're short, in which case you'd at least need a step stool), than this is a suitable option for you.

Fundamental design flaw

I play ball for a club and shoot/train at home regularly to keep my form hence was looking for a returner. This particular one has a fundamental design flaw. The ring (yellow) which holds the straps/hooks to the main rim is too small in circumference and too close in height to the main rim (or the strap hooks are too short) so when you are taking long shots beyond the arc or from the elbow/foul line distance and get the shot to drop the following occurs; A)The straps/hooks pop off the main rim as the ball drop impact on the returner ring make the hooks pop right out! So you have to take your ladder and pop the hooks back on. This keeps happening especially when you make clean shots . If the returner ring was slightly wider or bigger then the ball would drop cleanly on the net and would’ve avoided this happening . B) Because of this impact the return is as not as effective as it could’ve been therefore it defeats the whole purpose of having this attachment. C) This impact on the retainer ring makes a huge plasticky rattle noise, not pleasant! . Again to emphasise , this problem could’ve been avoided with two adjustments . 1) bigger returner ring 2) slightly longer straps with better hooks I will be retuning this item . Hope this helps Hoopers!

Works almost perfectly

This thing works great -- returns the ball back to you, but more importantly it stops the ball from dropping straight down and hitting the curb where our hoop is. Definitely recommend. The only think I don't like is the way it swivels. Would be really nice to be able to lock it into place so it doesn't swivel, because it keeps shifting to the left currently until it's facing backward. I solved this with lots of duct tape, but it would be better if it could simply lock.

Pretty good. Lets u get 500+ shots up a day compared to shooting on your own. Won’t rebound well for shooting 3s though and won’t rebound your misses. Setup pretty simple but can be annoying and swivel system works well????

Excellent Product

Son uses it, likes it. Easy to install, easy to twist to change the direction of the ball return. Seems to be good value.
