It is ok - but I don't feel really safe using it by myself
I have rheumatoid arthritis. My disease has eaten away the fluid in my left knee, right elbow and right shoulder. (and it is working on my other joints) I had to start using a shower chair last year when it got literally impossible to shower while standing. I had an AquaSense shower chair before this one. The Aqua chair literally fell apart. I am a larger woman. I am under 275lbs and losing weight to get back to my original weight (so hard to do when you can't exercise/move well). Anyway - I wanted to find a chair that fit into regular bath tubs better then the Aqua chair. And I was hoping to find a chair that had a swivel feature. Our bathroom is extremely small and so it is hard to have anything sticking out of the tub - you know the chair you sit and slide. So, I decided to try this chair. My husband put the chair together. It was definitely super easy (no screwing in hardware). Just click into the slots and viola you have a chair. I could have put it together myself. The chair is super light in weight. And it doesn't take up much room in the tub. So, my husband can put it towards the back of the tub and he has plenty of room to shower himself. I think it will be fine to travel with since it can be taken apart easy. My issues with the chair. I don't really feel safe in the chair. Why? Well trying to sit and get comfortable is a wobbly situation. The seat is not really wide. It is a small round seat. If you don't have a big/wide behind - well you might not have an issue with the seat. I did like the Aqua chair for this issue because the seat was a wide seat. But, that is not the only issue I have. The swivel seat is kind of not fun at all. There is a plastic white lip you have to push down to swivel. When you are sitting on the chair and try to use this feature - it is hard for someone with arthritic hands to push on this lip. And I can't get it to work for me while trying to use the lip/handle feature. Now - it does swivel on its own for me. Yes - on its own! I have to try to turn myself to get out of the tub (I can't just stand up and step out). So, when I do this - the seat likes to unclick and swivel - which makes it really exciting when you are not ready to swivel. The seat can pinch your skin if you don't be careful or sit right - I have said ouch quite a few times. So - because of my issues I am going to purchase another Aqua chair. But, I am going to keep this chair for when we travel. A lot of hotel handicap bathrooms do not have chairs to sit on (plus I really don't want to share the seat with hundreds of other rear ends). I could see it working better for someone who can stand up on their own and get out of the tub without too much trouble. Or, if you have a walk in shower area. But, if you are like most of us out there - and have a basic tub with a side you have to lift your legs over - then consider some of my issues before spending the money. I will say it is well made and the thought of the design put into it - is good. *** UPDATE - I should have given it more time. I know like it a lot better. I lost quite a bit of weight - so my behind fits on the chair. I am also liking the swivel top. Once I took my time, and figured out how to use it properly I decided this is the chair I like the best. Now, I have had this chair a long time and it is still doing its job. It has not fallen apart like the Aqua chair. The Aqua chair would only last me a few months at a time. This chair fits in my tub better. So, I am now very pleased with my purchase. I even bought a back up chair (another one of these) to use in the kitchen to sit on so I can do dishes.

Do Not Buy! This item is Dangerous!
I first bought this stool back in 2014 as shown in the first picture I attached. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well made it was. Both the upper and lower leg were cast as single pieces of metal, meaning the were no seams to break open. It was rated to hold 400 pounds and due to a bad back I was getting up there. I used it in the shower almost daily until recently when one of the push buttons to adjust the leg length gave out. My first thought was to simply drill through the leg and secure the leg with a bolt and nut since I have never adjusted the seat to a different level. Then I decided since it was in water daily for seven years I should just go ahead and buy a new one. So, I pulled up my old purchase and selected buy again. BIG MISTAKE. My “new” one arrived. This new stool claimed to have a capacity to hold 450 pounds! This stool was cheaply made. The upper half of the leg was made of two pieces of cheap plastic. As shown in my second photo both halves were held together by three tiny screws, meaning they were barely held together. Against my better judgement I decided to assemble the stool hoping maybe once the parts were together, they would somehow be study enough. As I tried assemble the last bottom half of the leg into the upper half, I pressed in the leg height adjustment button that was spring loaded as required. The button collapsed inside the hollow leg. I had to completely take the upper leg apart to retrieve the button. That was when I discovered the upper leg half was only held together with three tiny screws! It took a lot but I finally managed to reseat the button. Instead of being held in place with a full spring the button was held in place with a small length of metal that pressed against the opposite side to offer some tension on the button. So, I wondered how well would the four leg buttons stay in place when actual weight was placed on the stool. I continued to reassemble the stool which wobbled terribly. I placed the bottom plastic tray in place hoping this would finally provide some stability. It did not. The tray was attached to each leg by a small lip which fit into a plastic slot on each leg. It still had a terrible wobble with just placing the weight of my hand on it. I tried sitting on it and it wobbled even more! I could not imagine being wet in the shower trying to stay on top of the wet seat as it wobbled. I have glass shower doors and could only imagine myself flying through the glass doors cut in many places as I fell onto the bathroom floor, breaking my back the rest of the way! I decided to send it back and began to disassemble it. As I tried to pull the first tray lip from the leg slot and it immediately snapped in two! So much for being able to support 450 pounds! This stool is unsafe in my opinion. I would only use it to support the weight of a medium size flower pot that I didn’t care too much about. I would rather have paid MORE for this stool to maintain its original quality than to go to cheap plastic. It surprises me that a company which produces medical products knowing its clients would be infirm, many with weight problems would present this stool for sale. Also, as most bathtubs and showers are rather small people needing to use the stool would likely want to steady themselves getting into the bathtub by placing their hand on the stool seat. This alone could cause an elderly person to fall as the stool wobbles so much. Needless to say, I took my original stool and drilled a hole through its metal leg and bolted it in place and put it back in service.

non slip
I like the stool, the padding on the stood is hard, and water pools. We had one before this one and the paddy was great, soft.

More independence
For 2 years now I needed assistance while showering, I have a torn shoulder and back disc and left knee, so my spouse helped wash my hair and back for me. I often slipped of late in shower and having 2 forms of arthritis and Fibromyalgia made showering a difficult task for me. Yesterday I was able to sit to shower and bent forward to wash my hair so did not have to raise my shoulders, it felt great to wash my own hair again by myself. I also found it easier to wash my feet sitting down and putting against bathtub, feels great to be able to shower alone now, this seat is comfortable, the 4 stars is because of my arthritis I had a hard time pushing the legs in even when turned upside down, otherwise would get a 4 star. Also the rotating seat is not working as well as I though it would as you have to lift yourself up for the seat to turn, unless I am not doing it right, or might be my arthritis not being strong enough to do it properly, so I decided not to use that function.

Compact - Ideal for Small Shower Stalls/Tubs
This bath stool is great for people who are trying to find a seat that will fit in a small shower stall (as we were) or a narrow tub and it was easy to put together (no tools required - another bonus)! As for the "padded" seat, well, I think that might be a bit of a stretch (just know that it is not a "cushy" padded seat as it appears in the photo), but it IS comfortable and that's what counts! The "removable tray for storing personal items" is too flimsy to store anything more (heavier) than a bath sponge, so that claim is a bit of a stretch too. The seat is height adjustable (easy to do - and again, without tools) and the seat does swivel allowing you to move on the seat without twisting your body. We've used it for over a week now, and been pleased with it's sturdiness. The only thing that keeps me from giving it a full five stars is the fact that the screws that are used in the legs (factory installed) are already rusting and oozing orange/brown after a shower. I cannot fathom how the manufacturer would not consider using screws that are galvanized (knowing they will be constantly exposed to water). It's a "no-brainer". I am sure this will become annoying (over time) as those rusty drips can stain the grout/tile if not wiped up after each shower. Given the overall cost of this seat (compared to others), one might have reason to expect screws that don't rust and a shelf that can hold more (weight) than a shower sponge.

Good function set and footprint dimensions.
Adjustable height, small footprint and latchible rotating seat make it a very functional product. Fits in a shower stall where other styles wouldn't. Assembly was simple, BUT be gentle installing lower shelf. The 4 shelf attach points have THIN plastic tabs that are easy to break during assembly. They would seem to be sufficient (? so far) for sitting, do not appear to be designed for real heavy load in the shelf.

comes apart
Do to the standard size and curvature of a tub, the legs tend to come in when pressure is applied on the seat. This pops out the stabilizer ring and the whole seat falls apart. If you have a larger than standard tub, this would work well. With a standard tub however... prepare to take a fall.

Serves its purpose
I purchased this stool thinking it would help me transition from my walker into the shower. It does, sorta. The stool does allow me to turn however it is designed with a two legged person in mind. I need to adjust my sitting position to allow me to change my centre of gravity. I can and do make it work. I havent made up my mind re product quality. A clip that supports the lower tray broke. I dont think it will interfere with the overall application.
