Drills are sharp. Lengths are inconsistent.
The drills are sharp. The last row of drills was not attached to the case and had to be popped in place, and that was not as easy as it sounds. Strangely, the length of the drills is not consistent. For instance, #7 is shorter than #6 or #8. This occurs with other drill, too.

TL;DR: 'If you is a professional buy elsewheres dudes.'
Numbered drill bits. Who uses them? Machinists. 'What are dose and why'? 'What': Skilled laborers that do the ACTUAL building/creating/precision. 'Why': Numbered drill bits often uses in a machine shop to drill for a pre-tapped/threaded hole and or Ream. Used the '21' drill bit for a 10-32 thread for wiper placement in a newly made Gib for a Slide in an Okuma CNC lathe. If it's an Irwin, should I have to inspect every detail of the bit to ensure it quality? NO, thats absurd. I'd lose money going through EVERY single drill bit. The '21' opened up to .187 +.0005/-.0005 (3/16" for you carpenters), nearly killing the hole. Took the bit to the drill doctor and fixed the offset center on the webbing CLEARLY GROUND WRONG FROM 'DUR'WIN. Sorry I mean Irwin. Went deeper with the re-ground bit and had to tap deeper and acquired longer bolt to finish the job. This is the second, drill brand botch job- First was BOTCH. Sorry I mean Bosch. Will no longer purchase from Amazon again as far as drills go. Cleveland Twist or better for the Discerning Career Machinist. Period. TL;DR: 'If you is a professional buy elsewheres dudes.'

Bits look decent so far.
I purchased a cheap set on here a few weeks ago but had to return it because it was such poor quality. I then ordered this Irwin set and have now checked them with a micrometer and they are good. Not perfect but good. They are twice the price of the cheap set but are worth owning. The one unfortunate thing is that while the case is USA made the bits are from Brazil. They would be a good set for a DIYer and worth buying.

Good tool in affordable set
This Irwin bit set certainly covers my needs. It features the whole range from #1 to #60 (.228" down to .040", 5.79mm down to 1.02) in small enough increments for any purpose I anticipate. I use them on nonferrous metals, wood, and plastic, and find them completely adequate to my needs. A master machinist might want to bore harder materials, and others might need metric standard sizes or exact 1/64" increments - well, you just need a different tool. This meets my needs. And, since Irwin has a good reputation for durability (given even a little decent care), I expect it to meet them for a good long time to come. -- wiredweird

Very good; good value
Very Good numbered drill set when needed to make exact or critical holes to specs. Irwin is a decent name and the drill bit sizes appear to be exactly as advertised which was important for my application. Only issue I see is that the smaller drill bits are not numbered so could easily mix up if you drop the set and they fall out of their places.

Great set of bits
Numbered bits, pretty accurate when checked with calipers. Keep them organized however, because some of the smaller ones aren't stamped with a number, so they can get out of order if you don't keep up with putting them back. It's a nice case though, so I feel inspired to keep it all organized. Would buy again if needed.

Irwin means quality in my shop
Very nice case with clear, easy to read embossed numbers on the racks, bits doing a great job on a variety of metals. I have long enjoyed an Irwin fractional drill bit set in my metal shop, the bits maintaining sharpness and accuracy for a long time. I just looked around to notice all the Irwin products in my shop, all of which have been well made and durable.

Very sharp, great on any wood.
Nice metal case. Descent bit holder. Bits were very sharp and effective on wood. I am used to SEARS quality, these were a pleasant surprise.

Missing drill bits
Caddy set was missing #77, 79 and 80 drill bits. Would like to have them sent to me.
