Too small
These are very small and as a consequence it is difficult to get tiny antlers and legs out of the cutters without breaking. The pieces also broke when trying to put them together. I have been baking sugar cookies for well over 50 years and never had this much trouble with cookie cutters.

Decent set for the price
I am not sure how this set compares with other similar ones, but it worked for our needs. I used these to cut the pieces as soon as I pulled the gingerbread out of the oven. Work quickly if you do this, as they absorb heat and you don’t want to burn yourself. They cut through 1/4” cooked gingerbread just fine. Some of the larger pieces are a bit flexible, but honestly that was not surprising in a $10 set. The worst piece is the cross shape for the windows. It’s incredibly difficult to get the dough or cutting out of it. I finally gently prodded with a toothpick and that was the most successful. But even though I cooked the bread first, the crosses were too small for the windows. Other than that, all the other pieces are great! I’ve put them back in their box to use again next year.

Huge mermaid
The quality was fine but the some of the cookies were huge and required large amounts of dough so there weren’t many cookies from each batch. The mermaid in particular was huge.

Fun for kids of all ages
I purchased these and sent them to my grandson. The family immediately whipped up some sugar cookies and used the new cookie cutters to make the cutest dinosaurs. A great family kitchen activity.

I used these over the holidays! They're great and the gingerbread houses came out so cute! Definitely would recommend if you want to level up you gingerbread experience!

Precision 3D Cookie Cutters Help Bake Up Happiness
We’ve a little one in the extended family that’s obsessed with everything unicorn. I had to order this Chicago Metallic Unicorn 3D Cookie Cutter Set when I saw it available. It’s my third 3D Cookie Cutter Set from Chicago Metallic. I’ve not used the unicorn set yet, but I’ve tricks to share from having used the other Chicago Metallic 3D cookie cutters. It’s most important to roll dough uniformly thick. If some cooked pieces are a little thicker than others, fitting the notched pieces together is harder. When cutting out shapes for 3D cookies, I recommend rolling the dough a little thinner and keeping dough and cutouts chilled. Making the dough, refrigerating it, and working in three or four batches helps. I take a batch out, roll to a uniform thickness, cut out shapes and place them on a parchment-lined cookie sheet. Then I place the filled sheet in the fridge and start working on the next batch. If short on cookie sheets, just stack the parchments on top of each other. What’s important is to chill your cookie sheet before each bake. Chilling the dough and cookie sheets will keep cookies from spreading (which can make them slightly different sizes and harder to fit together later). The cutters themselves are made to last and make memories for a long time. The metal is stainless steel and the cutters are constructed with precision. Varied levels within the cutter serve to either cut and design. You can see the depth of detail when looking at the unicorn’s tail and mane. Having tried plastic and other metal cutters from different brands, I think 3D cookie cutters from Chicago Metallic are exemplary, the best of their kind.

Unique designs, fun, larger cookies than expected.
This set wasn't exactly what I expected . . . the cookie size was much larger than a normal cookie . . . for example, the mermaid cookie is a full 8 inches long. On the one hand, that gives you plenty of room to decorate, on the other . . . if you're trying to make cookies for a party you're going to have to make a lot more. This allows for a fun set and the layering can be done with either cookies or used a as a guide for the decorating. The cutters themselves are lighter weight than the older metal cutters I used to use. They still work, and cut cookies fine. They should be hand washed and dried with a soft towel. If left to air dry they can and will rust. Made in China.
