Unfortunately, there's quite a bit of slop on the adjustable side of the wrench. I was expecting much more exacting engineering, given Irwin has a good reputation for adjustable wrenches. I don't know what has changed. Maybe Irwin is using a different supplier or manufacturing process, but these are no longer high precision premium wrenches. Very disappointing. One point, they are thick and heavy compared to other off the shelf wrenches. I don't know if that corresponds to strength, but I suppose if you are looking for a wrench that you are going to abuse, maybe this would be a good option (maybe) given the amount of steel that went into manufacturing it. The claw is very thick though, so if you need a wrench that's going to reach those narrow plumbing or tool nuts, this wrench might be excluded. Overall, I think if you want a premium high precision wrench, this is probably not an option anymore. Hopefully Irwin fixes this before it ruins their reputation for reasonably priced high quality tools. UPDATE: I made some measurements of how much slop and how heavy are 3 brands of adjustable wrenchs, all based on 10in wrench, distance at tip, approximately 12mm gap, using high precision calipers. Husky brand from HomeDepot for $4 measured 0.52mm of slop with a wrench weight of 492 grams. Dynacraft that I picked up maybe 20 years ago at a random midwest hardware store, measured 0.59mm of slop with a weight of 432 grams. Irwin had a wopping 0.73mm of slop with a weight of 445 grams. So, really, its not only sloppy, it's much worse than a generic off the shelf $4 wrench.

High Quality
These adjustable wrenches have a thicker head and not a lot of slop. Found these did not slip off of the nut and the close tolerance was maintained, (did not go out of square).

Awesome
This hold their positions very well and feel very well built. I got them because my harbor freight ones are too loose and flimsy. This is an update after 6 months of using them I still love them and I really love on the side the measurement tool so you can know exactly what size nut you're working on. It comes in handy if I need to go get a socket.

As you can see from the pictures, there's some kind of dried out glue I guess they stuffed into the grippy part, and then just shoved it onto a regular wrench. I like the graduated marks on the sides, but the fact that the grip just falls off with any kind of pressure is really depressing also to seal the pin that the knurled adjuster spiral thingy uses, you will see in a close-up that they basically just hammered it until it was almost flush, but it isn't flush. I have a couple really awesome Irwin tools from the vice grip series that I thought for sure these would be a no-brainer, but I was wrong.

Took awhile to arrive but they are quality

The Ten year old version I lost was much higher quality then this new one.
I purchased a set of adjustable wrenches to replace the 6 “ pocket one I misplaced. On the first use I noticed significant rolling on the face of the jaws. The bolt was in a tight spot but the metal is quite a bit softer then the old version and there is a lot more slop in the adjusting mechanism. As with a lot of products these days the quality is declining. I thought buying the same brand I would get a quality tool. I have engraved them already so I can’t return them.

Herramienta de muy buena calidad
Llave muy buena, de excelente calidad el mago es ergonómico y duradero. Excelentes materiales. Sin duda compraría la línea completa de esta marca.
