Handy, sturdy, easy to lock & release and clear metric settings

Loved the price and Amazon delivers once again on their brand. Not only do these grip nicely on nuts and bolts but your hand will grip just as well to this handy sized wrench. The metric ruler is great to make a correct setting so there’s no fuss to re-adjust in tight or out-of-view spaces so you can just fit, grip and get the job done. The lock and release mechanism is simple but measure tolerance is low making the ruler a very handy feature. A must have tool worthy of any toolbox.

Are use this product to tighten a lot of screws The vice grip helps it stay in place.

Misleading

It’s a good adjustable wrench, but that is it. Looking at the photos I thought the locking handle would allow me to lock my jaws into a position and make some jobs a little more east. Wrong, the locking part doesn’t do anything. You can literally lock it into place, and easily and freely adjust your wrench with no resistance at all.

BARELY Adjusts

When you lock or unlock this wrench, it barely moves. Seriously: barely. I haven't measured it exactly yet, but my estimate is that it moves less than 1/100th of an inch.

Not as good as the Stanley version

I have this and the Stanley version. The Stanley one is better made and has tighter tolerances. Overall good wrench and a massive convenience. You should have at least 1.

Locks on the nut, not without - shame there's no instructions

It's a shame there are no instructions as I thought that this was faulty and almost returned it. The lock only works when it has a nut in the mouth of the spanner [wrench]. Without a nut the adjuster doesn't lock. A small slip of paper with instructions would have saved a lot of my time, hence the 4 stars. Other than that it works well and is good value for money - I expect to use this when securing a nut to a bolt through a work piece and need one side to 'stay on' which this should resolve. With the lock engaged the grip on the nut/bolt is very strong.

What on earth?

The product of an unholy union of vise-grips and adjustable wrench. BUT IT WORKS! Get the size right then clamp it and it won't keep slipping off. Great tool. I only bought it as a joke but now it's one of may favourites.

The perfect adjustable spanner?

There are some tools I uhm and ahh over for quite a while, before maybe or maybe not buying them. This tool was not one of those tools. As soon as I saw this tool on Amazon I bought it immediately. Naturally I've been rewarded by such impulsiveness by it dropping in price slightly shortly after my purchase. Such is life! If you've ever used an adjustable spanner on a job, you'll know that all too often, they slip off when under load, and as a result you can easily end up damaging the nut or bolt head, and usually end up damaging your knuckles. So you rummage around in your tool box and find a mole wrench. Now the mole wrench will definitely lock onto the hexagonal head, even after it's been damaged by the adjustable spanner, but the chances are you'll damage it even more. Of course the best thing to do would have been to use the correct size socket or ring spanner for the job, but sometimes they are not to hand when you need to do the job, and so you make do with what you have. This tool combines the benefits of the adjustable spanner and the mole wrench, and removes the downsides of both, leaving you with an excellent all in one solution that won't damage your nut/bolt when used. The downsides of this tool are that while it looks and feels as robust as a mole wrench, it really isn't. The locking force is applied through the threads of the knurled adjusting helix, which is up to the job, but you'll have to be sensible about how much force you use to lock onto your hex head. An adjustable spanner is seldom the best tool for the job, but sometimes they can get you out of a tight spot. This tool is an excellent adjustable spanner, albeit quite a bit bulkier than a more traditional adjustable spanner. I just love the fact this thing exists. It's a very neatly implementation of a great idea, and like some crazed magpie of a mechanic, I just had to have the nice shiny tool. A correctly-fitting socket or spanner will almost always be the best way to tighten or loosen a nut or bolt, so it's worth asking yourself why you think this tool will serve you better than the correct sized spanner or socket. Buy this because you want it, not because you need it. My 5* rating reflects the fact that I love this ingenious hybrid spanner, and the much the same product from an alternative brand is a lot more expensive.
