Oblong ball

Bought this to give to my grandson as a Christmas gift (2022) but decided to wait and give it to him for his birthday recently. I never opened it to look inside just gave it to him. Set the pins up and rolled the ball and it wobbled instead of rolled because it’s oblong and not round. Was hoping it was due to being smashed during shipping but the shape hasn’t changed despite everything we’ve done to try and reshape. The quality of the product is good and I’ve been happy with other toys from this brand but very disappointed in this set. Too late to return it since I’ve had it so long. Shop around before purchasing.

A MUST BUY for the kid that loves to bowl. Great family fun for everyone.

My 3 year old Loves, Loves, Loves this! My brother (his uncle) gave us money to buy my son a Christmas gift. His uncle is known for taking him bowling when we visit them, so I thought what a perfect gift. My friend recommended a bowling set that she gave her daughter. She purchased the MELISSA AND DOUG Happy Giddy Bowling Set. I reviewed it but I also did more research and thought this set would be more appropriate and it was. PROS for us: 1. We live in a high rise condo so we have downstairs neighbors and hardwood floors- this set is foam and do NOT make any noise when the pins go down. The Melissa & Doug set is plastic and makes noise (my friend came to our place and used our set and wished they had purchased this one. She also lives in a high rise condo with wood floors. 2. The bottom of the pins have a solid and flat surface for the pins to sit on the floor without falling. 3. The variety of colors makes it appealing to kids of all ages. My 9 month old seems to be interested in it and tries to bowl. 4. Its fun for all ages, not just kids. My husband and I bowl with our 3 year old and our 9month old tries to roll the ball or knock down the pins himself. 5. The carrying case is perfect for storing and it has a handle like the real bowling ball cases. He takes it to his grandmother's on various occasions to play there. Cons: This is a hard on because the only thing I can think of is that IF you do not put the pins and ball into the case correctly, the pins and the ball can get crushed, not major but you want the pins to be as straight as possible so they can stand correctly and the ball, you want it to stay round so it can roll. I purchased it before Christmas for $21. I see it's more now but I would pay it at this $27 price. Its a toy, family fun game that should last for years!

Broken after one bowl.

Owned for barely 1 week. My child bowled once and they are already breaking on the bottom. Mind you this is our second set and within two weeks and the first did the same. The quality is not good at all. Which is unfortunate because the foam ball is awesome and the concept was a good thought being foam. I would pass for not not only for quality reasons and safety reason of the plastic bases chipping off.

Great gift set for boy or girl, quiet and strong foam, nice colors

My 3 year old LOVES this set and I do too... it keeps his busy, is very fun for him, and most importantly it is QUIET. I almost went with a plastic set but then I thought to myself - why would I want the sound of plastic pins being knocked over on my hardwood floors over and over again? This is a very nice quality set. The pins have some weight to them so they don't just tip with a waft of air and the ball has some weight too. Colors are vibrant and bright and the set comes in a plastic zippered storage bag with handles. The only thing is that I would make sure your child doesn't try to poke anything on the foam or dig his/her nails in it and make sure you keep a dog who likes to chew away from it! These things didn't happen to me but just some thoughts. The foam isn't super soft but it's not as durable as wood or plastic.

Best bowling set ever!

My 4-year-old son gave this to me for my last birthday and we have had an absolute blast with it. I have never seen a set like this - only the kind with the cheap plastic pins that fall over with the slightest bump and are a pain to put back in their plastic frame case. This set is high quality. They are soft so they don't hurt if you get hit by one flying through the air (unless it hits you in just the wrong place) but they are nicely weighted so they stand up very well, even on some uneven surfaces which is useful since my son likes to set up very challenging obstacle course bowling alleys. The bowling ball is also very well made, nice and heavy feel with good finger holes. The only issue I have had is that the black rubber base which came off of one of the pins . . . which came off because my son purposely pulled it off of one of the pins. It glued back on very nicely and we haven't had any problems. I highly recommend this set - they are definitely worth the extra cost.

Great Set for Beginning Bowler

My husband and I are semi-serious golfers (enough to have purchased our own bowling balls, but not enough to be on a league) and our son has enjoyed going to the bowling alley from time to time. When we went on the hunt for a kids bowling set to have at home, we wanted something that had a bit of weight but not too much to cause destruction of other items in the house. This set is perfect for an at home, beginner, child's kit. My husband and I were so excited when we found this one, we both accidentally ordered one each and so we ended up with enough pins to set up a full 10 and 2 bowling balls. The pins are light-weight in density but sturdy with a rubberized circular base. The balls are the perfect weight, not enough to do damage, but enough to knock down the pins well and roll based on the force behind the ball. The foam is nice and thick and the colors are great! Would highly recommend this set to anyone.

Wanted to love it

I like that this isn't plastic, as I try to avoid that for my son's toys but some of the pins were stained with colors of the other pins and the ball is do warped it doesn't roll properly. My son is two so he doesn't get that it's defective, but I am disappointed

Bottom is very fragile

Generally speaking I like the softness of the material, but the bottom plastic is very fragile. I received a defect product, I was planning to exchange it, but within 15 minutes, Another two were cracked at the bottom too. The company should definitely consider changing different materials for the bottom

Good start for bowling!

Good quality, arrived in good shape in nice bag you can take it with you to picnic or camp or to relatives. It's not noisy at all the only sound it gives is the sound of enjoyment yeee I made it. Honestly, I enjoy playing it with the kids and wait for my turn with excitement ????????

Fun toy! Silent in use except for your kid's screams of happiness...

Fun toy. I'm happy how silent it is when in use, and the carry bag keeps it tidy when stored. The colours are fun too. I'm a dork so I prefer to arrange the pins as a colour wheel with the primary colours at the corners of the triangle and the secondary coloured pins between their component primary colours. Yeah... I know. You do you. Worst thing about it: the ball isn't spherical so doesn't roll 'true'. Luckily my 2-year old couldn't care less so it really doesn't matter. A small warning: be prepared to spend a lot of time setting up pins if your kid takes to this toy or any other bowling toy....
