These just work

I have long hair, and I'm radical about keeping the water going down the drain while I'm showering. I was buying the velcro ones, but they get so nasty and uncleanable after just one use, I couldn't stand it anymore. Wasting money is nasty, too. These have teeth, and I mean teeth. Be careful handling them, but that's just common sense. They work, and they work very, very well. I do the drain every month, yet this guy got stuff out of there I didn't dream it would get. Looked like a couple of rats. The velcro one had left all that in there. Gross! It's nice to hear the water gurgling as it runs down a clean, clear drain. Use these, you won't be sorry. They're also easy to clean, just pull on your gloves, pull everything off in the direction opposite the handle, rinse, spray with whatever you use as disinfectant and let it dry. Ready to go for the next time, which beats the heck out of throwing away velcro after one use.

These things work wonders

I have super thick hair and my shower drain gets clogged all the time. These things are amazing at getting it unclogged. They aren’t really reusable - I guess they could be if you wanted to clean them, but I don’t. Price is great for the pack and they are super sturdy and don’t break even on thick clogs.

Love these.. Keep one in each bathroom.

I had consistent slow drain in the bathroom. I had used liquid drain cleaners that helped a little, but it didnt take long for them to back up again. I finally got these and wala! Pulled out a ton of gunk and hair. Drain runs quick, and it has been draining great or months now.

It unclogged the shower perfectly

We had a a very slow shower drain in our very old new house and this helped fix it in 10 minutes. I ended up using 3 of the strips and what they managed to pull from the drain looked like something out of "Alien", I'll spare you the photos. The drain is working perfectly now and is very clean without an expensive call to a plumber, and it arrived overnight with Prime, sooner than a plumber would have arrived!

They do work on some kind of clogs

They do work on some kind of clogs and to reduce buildup. Don't expect miracles, especially if the trap itself is clogged.

Good product

Definitely a bang for your buck product. You get several snakes at a cheap price, and they work. I was mostly annoyed that they came bent in a circle because they stayed like that instead of being straight. Other than that, I recommend.

Great for declogging long hair, oplan to dispose of

I use these to remove clogs from my bathroom sink and tub - I have long hair that despite my best efforts at prevention, seems to always cause clogs. This is a good value for the number of snakes you get, and I was not interested in most of the other large packs which include a metal reusable snake. It may be a little wasteful but you should plan to treat these generally as one-and-done. You could probably clean them off if you tried but it would be really gross and to me, not worth the trouble. Highly recommend for the occasional slow-draining sink or tub, especially if you have long hair that may be contributing to the problem.

Excellent value.

Value is the best excepting HDX store ones. Those are in low stock. It did the job and cleaned the drain. The hooks are sharp and very effective. However the way they're packed comprises their deployment. They're coiled in a box and this under heavy tension leaves them coiled out of the box. Trying to snake it up a pipe is difficult because of the coiling. It took longer to twist it around and then let it recoil back to dislodge material. Luckily the sharp hooks were very good at snagging anything it passed by. The hooks mind you are so sharp you can't pull it out if the wrapping without tearing it. Some wrapping may stick to the snake and careful it doesn't go into the drain you want to clean.

Did the job with no fuss

After a week of constant plunging and mr muscle, but a drain that seemed to be draining slower and slower, I came across this product and thought I’d give it a go. To my surprise, it cleared the blockage straight away - the trick is to push it as far down as possible and vigorously twist the handle at the top. Saved my paying for a plumber (and my sanity).

Works but fiddly

Having seen videos online of drain snakes being used to block sink holes and that i have daughters with long hair I was intrigued to try one of these. They are as described, very much basic. They are flexible plastic long sticks with small but surprisingly sharp teeth along the edges which catch on absolutely everything, even getting one out of the bag took about a minute because it kept catching on the plastic. I tried them with some success, i didn’t think my drains were too bad but there was still some significant hair plugs, i actually felt a bit disgusted but equally relieved from cleaning these from the pipes. They do slide down easily enough but on the way out the teeth are constantly snagging on the hardware and it takes a bit of effort to get them out as i wouldn’t want one to snap and get stuck in my drain, they do look like they could potentially snap quite easily if you’re not careful. They are a bit frustrating to use but they do work to a degree. These were supplied as a 12 pack, i’m not sure why i would need so many as it would be unlikely that i would use them often at all. There isn’t a current RRP so cannot comment on the value. I should imagine these are pretty cheap. They are somewhat effective and useful and i have satisfied a curiosity of trying one. Not bad overall.

Surprised at how much gunk was in my pipes.

That good a grip I could hardly get them out the bag. For those who look and think these are just plastic strips they are most definitely a lot more. Well designed, the teeth edging is sharp and like barbs , they go into the pipe easily but won’t come out without grabbing any gunk and hair that’s there. I did have to loosen the kitchen sink waste bit and put the drain snake straight into the pipe but that’s because the gaps on the drain hole are unusually small. I got a lot of gunk and hair (how does hair even get into the kitchen pipes) from both the kitchen and bathroom sinks and the shower drain was scary, the smell was awful when the gunk came out of the drain and loads of hair. There is a pull-out trap in the shower, but it didn’t trap it all. It no longer takes ages to drain now. Very impressed. Only thing I would change is the width, a little narrower would be handier.
