Fantastic wheelchair!
Omg! I can't say enough about this wheelchair, it has changed my life. I was in the market for a new wheelchair and was looking thru Amazon when I came across this chair. I've never heard of Karman before so after reading the description and reviews and seeing the price Amazon had it for I bought it. Let me tell you, you notice the difference the very second you sit in it. For 10 years I've had everything from drive medical to carex. These tanks all claim to be lightweight they don't even compare to the Karmen. My wife all 110 pounds of her thanks me everytime she loads this into our CRV. This chair is all of 24 pounds, well made, glides so smoothly, easy to maneuver around, and my wife says it's easier to push me too. It did take me a few hours to get used to because it's nothing I've ever used before because it is so light and ergonomic compared to the tanks I've been struggling with the last 10 years. This karman wheelchair hands down is the best chair I've ever had. I'm 5'9 180 lbs. and the comfort of this chair is outstanding. I did buy a gel pad for it but you actually don't need it. I could on and on all day about it's durability, comfort, easy to maneuver, how lightweight it is, not to mention how stylish it looks, it's definitely a head turner! But you can read all about that in the description. I would suggest if someone locally carries this chair go check it out. If not you can always just take the chance and order one like I did. It worked out for me! And I'm glad it did.

Might be the Chair For You
Well, First let me say that I did have to send this back, but not because "I" personally did not like it. Many many positives about the chair, but the two negatives that I found made it impossible to keep for my 95 year old Aunt who is the one that i bought it for. First, Though the video looks like it can be wheeled with the foot peddles pushed back, or in, it cannot. You must take the foot peddles off or leave them on. Now, I am not really versed on wheel chairs, so I "could" be wrong, but I really tried to get this to work, and could not. Secondly, the chair height is not adjustable. My Aunt's feet did not touch the floor, and apparently this is not good. The physical therapist said I should send it back and get one that is adjustable. Now, all of the good stuff! This chair is solid and appears of very very good quality. It rolls so easily that it does not even compare to the ones at the nursing home that my Aunt had to use. It is comfortable. The design of the chair is indeed perfect for a small person. I think you need to assess the height issue (my Aunt is about 5'2"), and the foot rest issue (could have just been me not being able to figure it out). This could be a great chair for you (or not).

Fantastic for the price, and then some... ...
I've had this chair for three months and have used it almost exclusively so to give me time to make an objective review. Overall it's top notch and well worth the price considering my former chair was in the thousands. It's well made, lightweight, and east to operate. My overall assessment is this: Pros: -Sturdy but lightweight -Leg rests easily removed (this important in order to get close to sinks, stoves, etc) -Armrests fold back well out of the way for easy transfer -Seat/back cushions are easily removed and washable/dryer safe. I've used the washer/dryer numerous time with no issue -Folds up easily for transport. -Narrow clearance even though the seat is wide Cons: (there are a couple, however minor, it's still a 4.5 star chair) -The seat cushions that come with it stain easily, anything will leave a mark, coffee, sweat, even water. They do wash out easily. -Mine has a tendency to pull to the left slightly. So in a shopping mall or large store it can wear you out trying to go straight. I'm pretty sure it's isolated to mine. It's a very good chair. If you shop around you can't find one with these features for anywhere near this price. I'd buy it again for sure.

Great wheelchair
I was given a Drive wheelchair by my Medicare equipment provider. I found it very uncomfortable, and my wife struggled when she had to load it in the back of the car. For me, the Karman Ergonomic was much more comfortable and 30% lighter. With fold-down handles, it collapses into a small package. Very well made.

Love this wheel chair!!
I love this wheelchair that I need if going anywhere with longer distances to walk, e.g. Shopping Mall. I have MS and simply cannot walk any significant distance. I like that is is Light enough that I can fold it and put it in my hatchback car trunk by myself with not too much effort, so at this point do not have to rely on other people every time I want to go somewhere. I just have to fold down one half of the back seats as it is a bit tight. It is a small car though so cannot complain. Also like that handles fold down compactly for storage in the trunk and in my apartment. You really need to purchase "anti tippers" to attach to the back between the large wheels separately for safety. Love the red color too.

this is the chair to buy!
am very VERY happy i spent the $$$ on this chair, so much better than the one the VA gave me....my only nit-pick is that it feels a tiny bit short, but i may just have to get used to it, or adjust the pedals (edit - pedals adjusted down, fits perfect now, best chair ever). it fits my 235# 6' frame very fine, and my wife is very happy that it weighs almost half of what my old one does, fits in my taurus trunk easily. the chair also has 'bumps / scallops' on the wheel grips, and that makes it easy to propel and navigate. it came a bit early as a bonus, so a win all the way around -very happy with my purchase, would recommend this wheelchair with no hesitation.

Very comfortable
Great price, comfortable and easy use. Arms down for when your partner pushes or arms up while you wheel yourself.

This was the best compromise, and held up well over a year ...
We searched a lot for a lightweight wheelchair. Overall, I think the product space is overpriced - the technology is there in bicycles, and cheaper as well. This was the best compromise, and held up well over a year of usage. The solid wheels/tires are the better choice - no need to pump, and the ride is acceptable, not bumpy.
