It's a good kit
I used this kit with an Eddyline Merlin LT, about a 15' kayak on a 2004 Jeep Wrangler with a soft top, on a 2011 Honda Odyssey plus on top of a pop-up camper. As long as you tighten the straps tight, really squishing the foam blocks, it's not going anywhere. The Jeep was a unique usage because the soft top only had the bars for support/hard area for the foam blocks, i was able to use the back frame bar and the windshield frame for support. I took it down the highway and had no complaints. It also was on the camper for a total of 7 hours up and back on route 95 to Maine...for $50, it works well.

Not suggested for cars without roof racks.
For the cost it's certainly okay. It comes with all the straps you need and stows in a bag when not in use. The blocks also fit round bars, aero bars, pretty much any rack crossbar. If you have a bare roof I recommend against using this. Within a few inches of the front and back edges of the roof, the roof didn't dent when the kayak was loaded on it, but the blocks aren't thick enough to prevent the keel from rubbing against the roof. This causes scratches to the roof. Moving the blocks towards the middle of the roof dents the roof. Also, the instruction manual was adhered to the inside of the package and tore trying to remove it. TL;DR: If you have crossbars, it's worth a buy. If you don't, I'd save for a rack.

Great product
Ok, I'm going to be 100% honest about this. I am fairly new to kayaking so I didn't want to invest a ton of money into it. I have a ten foot swifty kayak and I drive a 1999 Toyota camry. With my current car, I knew that it wasn't worth the price to get a roof rack. I decided to try my luck with this product. Overall, this straps down the kayak pretty well. I didn't have any problems with it moving around and the set up was easy to do by myself. This comes with everything you need. The straps themselves are very sturdy and the foam blocks did not budge after my kayak was strapped down. This is a cheap and effective way to haul a kayak.

I have a Honda Element and it works great..
Was looking for an inexpensive way to transport my kayak around. I have a Honda Element and it works great......you do need to be a bit careful loading it on in that as your sliding across the foam blocks, they can detach from the railing if you're trying to shove the kayak across too quickly. Just need to do it at a slower pace and then no issues.

Otherwise it is a good product.
Does not come with four blocks as stated in description. Otherwise it is a good product.

It takes a little practice to figure out how each kayak rides best on the pads
Reasonably priced package. It takes a little practice to figure out how each kayak rides best on the pads, but once you get that down it works extremely well. Easy to lift your kayak onto the roof pads if you use your open front door with a towel or pad on it to rest one end of the kayak on while you lift the back on to the roof.
