Works good but sometimes leaks

It’s works great. Has an easy to adjust dial a breath and the mouthpiece it comes with is pretty comfortable my one complaint is that is has a habit of filling with water whenever I turn upside down or face the surface of the water. Not really fun to get a mouthful of water sometimes but still a god reliable piece for the price

I have been using this at work, I'm under water working on boats at least 5 hours a day, 5 days a week. I've been using this reg for the past 6 months steadily, and it is working great. The only little thing is that if you're tank is over 3000, it will chatter a little until the pressure drops a bit. I don't know why that is since the 1st stage should drop the pressure to the same thing no matter what the tank pressure is, so it may actually be a problem with the 1st stage. So considering you can't get an expensive reg rebuilt for this low of a price, and I have put at least 600 hours on one in 6 months with no problems, I would say it is definitely a good, dependable second stage regulator. And when it finally does break, I will definitely buy another one.

It's not bad, for the price, for a secondary but it has chatter in it when inhaling other than that it serves its purpose

Rubber Tastes Alright

It works great and looks good. I don't know why flavor was an option in this review but I guess rubber doesn't taste that bad.

I HAD A REALLY BAD AND UNCOMFORTABLE EXPERIENCE! BE AWARE!

I am a dive instructor and I was curious to see and try such a cheap octopus on sale; so I bought one for my student as she was looking for the best value for the dollar. I was curious to touch a $60 octopus, but I totally regret my bad decision and I will tell you why: 1. The octopus and the hose did not arrive attached for me to use (as it appears in the picture), although it might appear as an easy operation to do, it doesn’t make me comfortable to do it; it gives you a feeling of insecurity in a piece of dive equipment that is meant to protect a diver in case of emergency. 2. The hose length is way too short and it was indicated in the brief description that it was close to 36’’ (even a little shorter than what was mentioned), but when you place the hose next to one that is 39’’ or 39.5’’ (the normal length of an octo hose) you realize that if you need to use the “second air source” to help your buddy, every single inch is needed. 3. The hose for this Palantic says 350 PSI and it says do not exceed 350 PSI. The hose of my octo says do not exceed 500 PSI, and the hose of my reg says do not exceed 550 PSI; 150-200 psi more is a lot and I prefer to be and stay in a safer situation. 4. I have noticed that the hose and the octopus do not have any CE markings or indication, so I wonder if this item would pass any serious certification or test, including a cold water one; also, I have no idea where I can register my item in case a recall is needed as there are no indications for this. 5. The hose and the second stage arrived with no kind of “instructions” or “warnings” or “tips for maintenance” and not even a country of origin appears on the product, giving a further sense of a poorly made piece of equipment; Once I received the octopus and noticed all of this, I have done some further research online and found nothing about a Palantic brand so I think it will be impossible to change parts or get any kind of service if needed, and that is a big limitation for me; the only company that sells this product is named Scuba Choice, and I wonder which kind of protection and liability can be given to the user in case something occurs? Ultimately, my student has been able to use this in the swimming pool during her first class, and for the open water class, it was better than nothing. But, I absolutely would not recommend to her or anyone else to use it while diving in the sea. I suggested that she buys another one from other, more reputable companies. The reason I wrote this review is because I care about divers and I felt guilty about my suggestion to purchase this; I kind of wanted to justify the poor decision I made. It’s better to spend some more money and dive safe and happy, rather than save a few dollars and feel uncomfortable that your equipment is poorly designed, made by an unknown brand somewhere in the world with no potential care, attention and love for the user.

I just dove with this octopus yesterday. I'm very pleased at all depths and conditions that I encountered. I bought a $300 Poseidon Octopus a few years back and was immediately disappointed and ended up tossing it. I have a feeling that this is a much better investment.

Works Great

Works excellent, good quality, mouthpiece fits good. I changed the spring in it to run a lower air pressure (60psi) I have roughly 12hrs on it with my surface air supply setup without any troubles. Easy to purge and breathe through.
