My mom's hands are no longer cold!

These were a gift for my mom, who recently moved to Colorado, where we live, and has that condition that makes the tips of your fingers white and numb when you go out into the cold, even if you're wearing good gloves or mittens. I try not to buy on here, but Christmas was approaching, and I wanted to make sure they arrived on time — plus, it was a notably good deal, less than 50 cents per hand warmer. My mom cares about the environment; she is a vegetarian and a devout composter. I asked Google whether disposable hand warmers are bad for the environment, and the first result said no: "They are made of all natural ingredients and are safe for the environment." I did notice that the result came from a hand warmer company's website, but then, as I said, Christmas was approaching, and I didn't have time to research further. Now my mom puts a hand warmer in each glove as she sets out for a wintertime walk, and when she gets home, her fingertips are as rosy as ever.

Long Lasting and Perfect for My Purpose!

I tried these for the first time this winter but instead of using these warmers for hands I put 2 pads between 2 thin hot pads for pots and pans, placed the arrangement under a heavy ceramic dish, I use in my outdoor cat shelter for canned wet food, and nothing froze all season! The heat seemed to last for more than the advertised 10 hours and since food feeding was daily overnight the pads were perfect for that time period. I do use an electric double dish heater for water but this was an easy and inexpensive fix for the wet food. But, if I ever needed hand warmers for gloves/mittens this would be my go-to choice.

Once the warm up they are great!

As I mentioned above, once these little warmers get warmed up, they are great! They take just a couple of minutes to start getting a little warm, but not really warm enough to keep your hands or feet really warm. However, after about 30 minutes, they get REALLY warm, and sometimes even a little too warm to hold the whole time. The more you shake them in the air, the faster they warm up and the better they work. They do not get so hot that they could burn skin or clothing, but they do get really warm and stay that way for about 10 or so hours in my experience. Once you are done with them you can simply toss them in the trash without any concern of safety hazard. This case comes with a variety of hand and toe warmers and are great for the price.

Great value

This box is awesome. I buy them every year and save them for my son and I when he plays baseball. Some games are so cold and he pitches so I give them to him to keep his hands warm while he’s waiting to come in. I use them to prevent myself from freezing while watching. We also take them to Disneyland when it’s particularly cold that day. Feel like they last longer in a day than stated. No complaints at all! Box seems to last forever. Quantity and price make it a great value.

Necessary for cold days

These are the best. I purchase them in bulk for work because we run an outdoor food pantry and it can get cold. I hand out one or two to my staff and they help sooooo much. We don’t even use gloves. We just put our hands in our pockets with these and they warm is right up.

MUST HAVE

Favorite purchase!!! Can’t go wrong with these hand warmers that are air activated! I work over night so these are a necessity, and I’ve also bought these for my grandparents!

Take a while to work but heat lasts

Takes 20-30 minutes to start to heat up but the heat lasted about 12 hours. Great! Try them in your back pockets and tucked into your gloves.

Life savers for Ice Fishing with the kids... and for me!

These really do last all day. When I ice fish, I do not like to wear big bulky mittens or gloves! so I slip these into my light weight gloves and they help keep my hands warm all day. I also use them in my kid's mittens for Ice fishing and ski trips and they help immensely in limiting the amount of times I hear "I'm cold" and then feel the need to reply with "hi Cold, I'm Dad"... which makes everyone happier during those cold days!

IMO the best hand warmers

I've used these while hiking, camping and motorbiking. Even put one in my sleeping bag - below freezing outside and warm as toast all night. Definitely recommend.

Gets me through the winter night walks

I get through a great deal of these, almost every night I use a pair in winter and the surrounding colder months, as I'm in the habit of a long night walk before bed every day and would otherwise get frostbite, even through thermal gloves. I put one in each glove and that's that, toasty hands for the whole journey. These last a long time, if I start them at 10pm, they're still giving off noticeable heat at 7am the next day and remain at near peak output for at least four hours from the outset - they do get very hot if confined, might be too warm for some people in some situations, but I often keep them in my chest pocket or gloves and throw them in my bed when I get home to help in the night, no bother, just a good product. Disposable, yes, but it's essentially just a material pocket filled with iron fillings, for the main, initially sealed in a thin plastic wrap - they react with air to activate, the plastic wrapper is non-negotiable.
