Paint spills galore, but beautiful colors

These are beautiful colors! My favorite is the magenta, a rich and vibrant cool-toned pink. The brown is also great to have so you don’t have to mix your own. The colors seem to be slightly more concentrated than the Color Splash, which is the only other liquid watercolor I can find that isn’t ruined with a thickening agent (which makes them impossible to bloom and spread as watercolors should.) (NOTE: Liquid watercolors can be further concentrated by leaving the tops off with a dust cover in a very safe, pet and children-free area, to further evaporate and become richer colors—Don’t leave them in the sun as they might fade.) After trying these out I don’t think these are necessarily worth the higher price tag, but they are beautiful and a pleasure to use nonetheless. These are usually more than double the price of my beloved Color Splash. All colors in this set are identical to the Color Splash 10 set except magenta, brown and black. I will just buy those 3 separately in the future and keep using CS (unless they ruin the formula and add thickener!) The huge negative is all but 2 of these leaked, the green being the worst offender. I lost about an ounce of several colors and it was a huge mess taking them out and rinsing them off. The seals were still on, for all the good they did, and a lot of the lids were loose. The green even somehow got in the lids of some of the other colors! (Maybe that’s the “Magic” in Color Magic.) The labels are now all stained and hard to read. I’ve ordered color splash 4 times now and haven’t received a single spilled color, so Sargent art should take notes about their packaging and put a better seal on these.

Leaked in shipping, missing red, vibrant colors

Leaked in transit. Watercolor all over every bottle. Labels are now all black and hard to read. Missing red. Two oranges were sent. I like the product. Colors are vibrant compared to other comparable liquid watercolor I have used. Just disappointed in the shipping and packaging of wrong items. Bottles should really be individually bagged.

The set had a leak!!!

The product itself is awesome, however, the packaged arrived and several of the bottles had leaked into the box, which then leaked all over the other bottles... it was a real mess..... most of the bottles were savaged, and I am able to use.....

Could have been better variety of colors

I did not have any trouble with shipping at all, as other shoppers had indicated. It came very thoroughly wrapped in multiple layers, in a well padded and strong box, so absolutely no leakage. Something to note is that these bottles come with a top that allows you to dispense one drop at a time. I had purchased pipettes that were commonly purchased with this set, but now find I have no need of them. In addition, I received two reds and two blues, but no green. That was disappointing. With the large range of colors available for this product, I could easily have gotten a green and an additional fun color such as magenta, fuschia, coral, or pink. Still, the product is high quality, and works very well for the homemade slime I intended it for. Depending on the color desired, 5 to 10 drops in a 5 ounce container of clear glue is all you need. Thus, these 8 ouncers will likely last through many, MANY projects. yay! (the colors I actually received were red, red, orange, yellow, turquoise blue, blue, blue, violet, brown and black)

A joy to work with!

I use these in an art class I teach and love them! They go a long way for sure. The colors are great...very saturated! I don't water them down, but you could. The students love them and a lot of the parents have asked what watercolors I use. I had never worked with liquid watercolors in the classroom before so I wasn't sure how to distribute them- what I ended up doing was getting the little plastic condiment cups with lids and would have a paper plate with all the colors on it. I would have 2 students share a plate and only put a few squirts of the paint in there and hardly ever had to refill them. They are fun to work with! My only complaint was when I was squirting the liquid into the cups, there seemed to be a bad seal on most of the colors and the liquid would leak from the threads of the lid. It seemed like I was wasting a fair bit of the liquid just from that. There was a tiny bit of leakage from on the colors when being shipped, but I luckily didn't have the big mess that others describe.

Product will remain vibrant through multiple washes

Product arrived in good time, well wrapped and with no leakage as noted in some other reviews. Now for the product. It states it’s washable, which I assumed meant it would clean up with water. Not so much. Two days later, lots of hand washing, even with steel wool & I still have rainbow hands. It also stained my jeans & kitchen counter, even though I washed it up immediately. Possibly what they mean is that you can use it on anything and the color will remain no matter how much you wash it. The upside? The colors are vibrant and beautiful, just make sure to wear rubber gloves, an apron & lots of plastic bags.

The leaking was AWFUL

The colors are gorgeous. Too bad they are packaged so horribly that it leaks ALL over the bag, the box, and anything the box touches. It's such a shame because the colors are so vibrant. Even when you use them they leak. So both packages I bought I returned. Wish the sellers cared about packaging them better.

Love the colour

These paints are wonderful. The colours are vibrant and my students are amazed with their artistic creations. Only negative- some of the paints leaked in transit. Had to clean the mess in the box and plastic wrapping. Everything needed to be rinsed. Result was less paint in those bottles.

Packing was a mess, colours just ok

Wow....these arrived in a mess from several leaking bottles, soaking all the labels and the outer box, all requiring major cleanup. All the bottles had loose seals leaving less than full amounts of more than half of the colours. The colours are just ok, making these more pricey than what their worth given packing standards (I see from other reviews this is a common issue.) Too bad, as other Sargeant paints I have bought have been great.

Vivid bright colours.

Great product for good price. The colours are vivid and very easy to use and apply being in a liquid form. I use them for mixed media projects.

Be prepared to get dirty unpacking!

You'd think for the price of these, they would at least make sure the lids were fastened tightly before shipping. They leaked all in the box and it was a total mess to unpack... not to mention all the wasted product!
