I don’t like

I bought this a couple of years ago. I never had to drill holes or modify it for the step to work correctly because I installed it the right way the first time. Other people install it backwards and it messes up thinking you need to drill holes and modify it. The trash can was extremely easy to put together and we step on this thing so many times a day. It’s very durable. I just do not like it because it’s easy to get food behind the bag into the container. I rather have a removable top and the ability to use a step. The pricing on this is actually pretty high compared to other similar items with similar size that is automatic open lid with better bag control. I use 30 gal drawstring bags for this and instead of tying the bag, I use a bottle cap with cut + slits to keep it in place and not have to mess up the strings. I may use it for laundry and buy another trash can

Giant can with foot pedal!

I had about given up on finding a can this size with a foot pedal. We have a six-person household, "normal size" kitchen trash cans overflow in the blink of an eye, and the outdoor-sized one I had before looked tacky and grossed everyone out having to open it by hand. This one is great. You have to work a bit to get the trash bag hooked around it, but it *looks* like a proper kitchen trash can while still being industrial size. Not sure on longevity though, I've had a lot of foot-pedal cans end up with broken pedal mechanisms, but I'm happy enough with this one to just get another when and if that happens.

Too Big!

I wanted a trash can for my office/studio that was a little bigger than standard so this 17 gallon can looked like it would work. I bought 20 gallon kitchen bags to fit in this can. Long story short, the can is very wide and so I would have to use a very large bag in this can. The 20 gallon bags which should be bigger than the can, are too narrow to use with this can. I did not measure the can, but it looks like it is bigger than 17 gallons. Also, it is a small thing, but this can came needing assembly. Not just snapping the lid on the can, but putting the foot peddle mechanism together and installing it in the can. I have never had to assemble a trash can of any sort ever. This can is too big for my purposes and so it will be used in the basement as a backup can if our regular can gets broken. I will have to find another can for my office. This can looks neat, the lid is huge as is the opening, but finding bags that fit it will probably be a challenge and you will probably end up going with a 30+ gallon bag so that you can actually fit the bag over the top of the can.

Good, but not easy to assemble

This is a very sturdy can but putting it together involves prying (directions say pray ????instead of pry) the sturdy parts. If you are strong, it may be easy but for one woman who is not super strong, it is difficult. I did get it together.

Sing a Song About a Trash Silo M MM M M DA DAA

Who doesn’t need a trash silo? It is so much sturdier and looks like it will be much more durable due to its thickness, than the 13 gallon trash cans. If you don’t want to use the foot pedal, you can lift up the lid by hand. Installing a 30-gallon trash bag inside the can is very easy. Slip it around the top of the can and hook the bag around the side hooks and you are done. I am amazed at how much more trash the bags hold in this can than what we were getting from the old 13 gallon can. We are taking out the trash once every 3-4 days a week instead of every 1- 1 1/2 days. The cost of this new trash can will pay for itself very fast and save us a lot of money in the future. There’s only two of us at home now, but we’ll have a house full of kids and grandkids this weekend. I’m looking forward to seeing how this bigger trash can works for us all. And finding out if our almost blind grandson can discover how to get it open and fish out things since it’s taller than him. I’m sure you will find yourself singing the joys of this trash can.

Love this trash can!

Our dog would occasionally grab stuff off the top of the trash can when it was full so we needed a trash can with a lid. Bought this after a lot of looking and let me say it has exceeded my expectations. This trash can is quite a bit taller than my last one so it allows the bags to be filled up with more trash. So I am now using about 4 less trash bags every month! Pretty cool I tell you what.

Exactly What I Needed

To those who used zip ties to hold the foot pedal linkage together: YOU PUT IT ON BACKWARDS! Just turn the long piece of linkage around and it'll work perfectly. This can is perfect for Kirkland's blue 30 X 33inch trash bags or any other 90l ribbon tying bags. The side hooks do a great job of keeping the bag fastened to the can. Also, the can has a slow closing function that makes it even easier to use. A very simple, but rugged design. I can see it lasting decades and I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

I've seen spacecraft assembled with more ease!

So after 15+ minutes of trying, I finally managed to get the lid assembled. The instruction manual is no help. I was lucky enough to buy two of these things. Assembled they look great. I hope they function as well. Note to Safco: Have them come assembled or don't come at all!
