A must buy if you like the original
About eight of my friends at work play this game every day at lunch. We have about a dozen games to select from, but this has been our favorite. The expansion brings the challenge up several notches. While the original game is fun in unto itself, the expansion is a must. It is a more fun because it is not just dwarfs vs saboteurs, now most dwarfs have competing goals. There are blue dwarfs, green dwarfs, crystal hunters, bosses, profiteers, and saboteurs. It is now no longer obvious if a player is a saboteur or not, and even if they are, they might not be your biggest threat! It takes us about an hour to get through 3-4 rounds. The rules are a little confusing, but after a few rounds, you'll get a better understanding and will create house rules to tailor to your group. I would recommend playing the original game a few times first, to get used to the mechanics of the game. If you enjoy the stand alone game, you must get the expansion.

this expansion lends a good deal if complexity to the game which i appreciate. we have now played several games in which we thought we all knew who all the characters in play were, only to be surprised (and therefore short on gold) at the end of the round. the expansion does lengthen the game a bit, and the role of the geologist is not very interactive... (although the right geologist can make kife a pain for the dwarves if you have the right kind of group.) the profiteer is a major wild card player, and the boss is just odd.. not sure how to play him yet. all of the new attacks and defense cards enrich the game and also balance it - we had found that in small group games there were too many attacks and not enough defense in the original deck, but that problem is remedied here. my kids love to play thus with us and we are still enjoying saboteur after a few years of play.

The base game and expansion of saboteur is incredibly fun. 2-12 players with the expansion, so many possibilities, and so much fun! Highly recommend!!

Great party game, quick and fun for up 12 players. Who's your friend & who's your foe? Till the end, you'll never know!
This fixes the imbalance of the base game, adds new characters and makes the game even more fun and hectic than the original, a must have if you like the base game. I only recommend to learn the base game first and play with it for a while before moving on to this expansion. It is a little more complex to learn (more rules) so it's easier to do it step by step.

Great expansion, highly recommend if you liked the original Saboteur
Great game. If you love the original Saboteur, Saboteur 2 adds a bunch of fun additional characters and path cards. The rules are also slightly different but all of the changes add to improve the game and make it more fun.

If you are boared of playing Saboteur 1 over and over, this is the way to go, otherwise the orginal is better in MHO
I find that I tend to play this game with new people who have never played before. The expansion is definitely for avid players so I still prefer the original to the expansion, its just too much going on and the original is so easy to teach people, the expansion leaves them confused. If you play the original all the time this expansion may be a great addition for you.

Misleading photo and description
The photo and title are shown Mayfair Games publisher, but in reality, I got VR Distribution. If I wanted VR Distribution, then I would order from a different seller. The game itself is great! One of my favorites. I played Saboteur 1+2 for a long time and wanted to add Saboteur 2 to my personal collection. I'm gone gift this version to a friend and hope to find an honest seller that actually sells what he offers. PS. The different publishers make exactly identical versions of the game, but for a collection to work - I need to have the right publisher. :)

Love it. Better to play with seasoned players. Wish box was bigger so you could just add all cards together in one box !
