Great cable stopper!! So much easier to install then the original style cable stoppers!!
I gave this item a 5 star rating because of the ease of installation and the quality of the product. If you have ever used these cable stoppers before but had one that was not divided in two piece. You know what a pain it is to get the looped winch cable through the tiny rubber hole. That was always a good 30 minutes for me trying to fight that cable through a little hole. Rugged Ridge has made this so much easier now! The rubber piece is divided into 2 halves and they bolt together with 2 bolts. I have one of these installed on my '12 CanAm commander 1000 ltd which has a steel winch cable. I did not have any issues with the size of the hole on this stopper and fitting the steel cable in-between the 2 halves. Seemed like a perfect fit to me. I also have one of these stoppers on my '08 Yamaha grizzly 700 which has synthetic rope cable aka blue steel. I did not have any issues with fitment on the synthetic rope either. Even with the cable saver nylon sleeve in the way. Was a great fit and does exactly what it is supposed to do. Very pleased with the product and it's construction. I would recommend this to any of my fellow side by side and ATV riders!

Works well
I purchased this cable stopper because it comes in two pieces making installation easier. Only gave it four stars because the instructions say to place the washer into the hole before bolting up the halves. The hole is smaller than the washer so the washer must be forced into the hole with an object. I pulled the washer into the hole by tightening the nut on the bolt on the other side of one-half of the Stopper. Cannot use both sides, as the bolt is not long enough. I likes how one can get the Stopper up close to the thimble on the synthetic rope where it is thicker at the splice. Would recommend to others.

Cable "stopper" might be a misnomer
This little bugger is good for keeping the hook on the end of your winch cable from smacking against your fairlead when the winch is not in use. Nonetheless, it is hardly a cable "stopper". ANY winch would just raise heck with this thing if you allowed it to keep on pulling once the stopper got up to the fairlead. The little bugger is a little difficult to install as the washers must be forced in to the hole. In addition, I found the bolts to be too long and I sawed them off some. I guess I'd have to say that the price seems a bit high for what you get. However, now that I have it, have it installed, and am careful about winding in my winch, it does stop the hook from clanking around against the fairlead.

Better Than Nothing
The bolts go beyond the openings on both sides and the rubber is so soft that the nuts spin inside the rubber once snug. I installed this on a 3/8's line. The crimped end off the loop holding the hook for the winch pulled half way through one time when I let off and it spun for an extra second. It pulled one of the nuts half way through the rubber. The rubber is not robust enough. But it is cheap. Got what I paid for.

Too small for synthetic line
Listed as universal and is of good quality, but is way too small for a synthetic line (mine is 3/8). You could drill out the center a little more (which i did) to get it to fit better but if I was asked to do it again I probably wouldn't. I've taken it off and its sitting on my desk now. Not really because its bad, but I just don't really see the need for it.

Easy to install.
I put this on a Badlands 12000# winch I installed on a car trailer. The biggest selling point to me was it splits in half and installing it on the cable was very easy, as you don't have to unspool the cable. I did have to drill out the center hole by bolting the stopper together, clamping it in a vise and a using a 1/2" drill bit before installation. I like the way it works and keeps the tow hook from going through the roller fairlead, I am going to install another stopper on the winch on my 1993 F250.

Dont need it
Provided hardware bolts and nuts were was longer than they should of been. No longer have this product on winch cable do to the damage it was doing to the fairlead.

Love the product, lost on the Prime shipping
If you want a good product, buy this. If you want it in the timeframe of Prime two day shipping, try another product. Good thing I really didn't need it in two days (or less sometimes), because it originally was listed as a THREE day delivery time, and still as PRIME, but it was four days before I saw it. this product's distributer should NOT list it as PRIME! I couldn't cut down the quality though. "PRIME" buyer beware. One last comment, I've had non-PRIME products delivered in three days or less. SAD!
