Good as is, could use a slight improvement.

I got a couple of these for mail sorting at home and have them attached to the side of my fridge. PROS: 1) Really like how the magnet provided is a big adhesive sheet magnet. Its big enough that it almost fills the entire back panel (the black portion). 2) Sturdy. I haven't attempted to drop test or break this thing, it's held onto the fridge with no problem - but the clear plastic feels very sturdy. 3) Wide enough to fit magazines and larger mail, deep enough to keep them in - BUT NOT TOO DEEP! This is key. Nobody wants to have to get their hand stuck trying to get some mail that fell down the rabbit hole. Plus being clear front means you will always see it. CONS: 1) I really wish this was all one piece. The black backing has hooks that hold the clear bucket. 2) Black plastic backing is obviously a weaker plastic than the clear. Seems like it would be the first thing to go which sucks because that's the only way for this thing to attach. 3) The clear bucket has no back to it. A little hook up from the bottom then it's all open to the fridge/cabinet/whatever. I understand that this could be a "feature" so you can take it off and access things easily, but I see it as a flaw. All in all, the CONS I have are really just nitpicking. As long as you don't plan to spike this thing and it stays put, it's a champ. Definitely serves its purpose.

Good durable product

Hesitated to purchase this because I thought it was a little pricey, but I am pleased with the product I received. Came well packaged and although there were no included directions, I was able to figure out how to attach the magnet (sticky) and back without much trouble. I could see how this might be confusing, though and my reason for giving it four stars. The plastic is super thick and does seem like it will hold up well. I have kids and a clumsy husband, so this is important. The magnet is strong and I have put it on the side of my fridge where I created a school station with calander and notes about upcoming events. I have a three ring binder, four white board markers, and papers in it now and it holds without any slipping.

They are NOT unbreakable but read on for a hack

As a classroom teacher, I am using these for storage of items for younger children such as work choices and headphones. The magnet is ALMOST strong enough to hold, but if they get bumped wrong, they can fall (as two have in the last week) and had broken. Amazon replaced them. But, I thought about it and realized that there was a way to (hopefully) fix it so they don't break again when they fall. If you use 2 pieces of clear packing tape to attach the back magnetic panel to the clear front panel, they will not swing freely and therefore don't pull at the magnetic back at funny angles. This seems to have solved the problem and created better structural integrity so they don't get bumped and fall off the magnetic surface again. So buy the product, use the product, but (if I were you) tape the product!

Great, strong product...weak magnet

Perhaps I put something too heavy in (I had it mounted on my fridge), because after a couple of weeks it just fell down and won't go back up, even with nothing in it. I'm sorry this happened, and figure perhaps it's due to the humidity in our area??? LOL I have no idea, actually, but am trying to come up with a good reason other than a possible flaw in the magnet itself. I"m sure I can find a way to velcro it up to help out with that, but just wanted to share my experience.

Didn’t work for me

Unfortunately, this broke within a few days of having it. I had to rig up different magnets to make it stay on my whiteboard. I only had a few light folders in it, so I am unsure why it didn’t hold better. The plastic cracked from it falling a few feet.

Worth 5 bucks

Primarily, the problem is that the file is awkwardly short, causing paper to droop out rather than stay confined inside, it arrived scuffed, and is designed as cheaply as they apparently could make it. In addition, I would like to address the supposed unbreakability of this product. To be clear, one swift smack with a hammer, one punch, one ruff gesture of any kind, and this will shatter like Napoleon's invasion of Russia. Now, one might ask, why would any of these Napoleonic activities be happening in an office? Is it not fair to say that is unbreakable by any normal office activities? Yes. True. Unless your office is full of mosh pits and fight clubs, it is unlikely that this product will ever break. If your office is full of those things, please send me an application. So in short, as long as this file is kept to the normal office file activities of sitting quietly by and never being touched by anything, it will never break. But once you finally lose it with the droppy papers sticking out the top brushing you as you walk by and punch it straight in its clear plastic face, it is done for.

It fell off my fridge and broke

I got this to help with at home learning. Unfortunately the magnet was not quite strong enough to keep the tray up on the fridge and when it fell off it broke. This would be OK for a handful of papers but not for anything heavier than a couple of magazine

Works as described, but...

The magnets are strong.. and holds a lot.. but there's no magnet along the bottom edge, which means it's easy to shift it slightly and drop paper through the bottom back. I'll probably buy a bit of magnetic tape and put a strip along the bottom. My suggestion to anybody buying this product is cut a small strip off the provided magnets and put along the bottom along with the intended sides..

Double sided tape is weak

The product is well made except for the double sided tape. It doesnt hold the tray after placing in about 12 letter style sheets. The contacts us page on Amazon won't take my Toronto phone number. I will have to buy some better tape now

Was not impressed opening up the package to find the item was covered in scratches. Definitely seems like it is a used product. Returning asap.
