Learning Resources Nice Quality Bullseye Safe-T Compass
Learning Resources has put together a nice quality Bullseye Safe-T Compass. This is certainly much safer to have around than the ones with a big freaking spike sticking out and the other side that holds a pencil that you have to keep adjusting. It is so easy since you can set the clear bulls eye over the point you want to start with and then adjust your slide in the ruler to where you want your circle and stick a pen or pencil in to draw it out. Make sure you do not push the bulls eye part out as it does not go back together and stay that way after that happens. Overall, a great tool to have around the house or send to school with the kiddos.

Lifesaver
I bought this to add in battle map making for tabletop reoleplay. Very happy so far and if it does eventually break, replacement is very affordable.

Needs practice to use correctly
These were a great option for working in a detention facility where having the standard metal compass is not an option due to facility security. However, my high school students found them to be clunky to use and they didn't like them. I think with some time and practice they may eventually change their minds since it's better than the electronic versions which they didn't care for either. Our technology is outdated and clunky so I think this is going to be the better option for us.

Good
I bought this for my son to use for math homework, and we haven't had any problems with it. Granted, he just finished algebra 1, so we haven't needed it a ton yet, but this is very close to the style I used in school as a kid, and I always had good luck with them.

Pretty cool little tool.
I haven't used it yet in my journal, but I practiced a few circles and it seems to be pretty easy to use. The protractor part is quite tiny, so I wouldn't use it in architecture or any technical drawing that needs to be 100% accurate.

Nice concept
I was in need of a tool that draws circles but doesn't leave holes in my paper, like a regular compass. The idea behind this product is great, move the slider to set your radius and away you go. The execution, however, was not very good. Like others have said, unless the slider can be clamped down to stay still, your circles will come out uneven despite your best attempts. Even if you only want this product for quick circles that look 'good enough', the rotating piece at one end where the picture shows someone holding it down with their finger isn't great either. It's very hard to spin this piece and as a result you have to use force to complete a revolution, which practically guarantees that the slider will move while in use. This can be remedied by the use of another pencil to 'pin' the compass down while the other pencil marks the circle, but since the hole in the rotating bit is larger than the end of a pencil it still comes out wobbly. I will say, though, that I like the mini-protractor on it. If I weren't so bad at drawing circles this would be a 5-star product.

I use it for drawing.
For me it’s more practical with this for making cercles. You can choose the exact diameter of your circles. Probably Good for mathematics too. The only thing is it’s really small … I mean really.
