A hit for the price

In an effort to do more cardio I was suggested by a friend to implement boxing into my weekly work out routine. Inexperienced in boxing I was tasked with finding a pair of gloves that would suit my beginner needs, nothing too expensive but of good quality. (As a boxing fan I am familiar with ringside products as one of boxing's major endorser.) After going through a few selections I settled on ringside's striker training glove. The glove itself is made of "synthetic leather" aka vinyl, but I'm not looking to take them to the MGM grand and fight floyd for 12 rounds with them, so I'm perfectly fine with that. They have a thick velcro strap securing the wrists for those intense punching bag sessions. The padding inside the gloves feel nice and snug, it comes with five holes in the palm area for ventilation but are almost useless due to their size. The stitching isn't the greatest but you get what you pay for, one thing though, I purchased these back in July and I do some intense bag work and they are still holding up, logo in front of the gloves are wearing off but who cares. Only complaint is that the stitching where the thumb meets the index finger was ripped upon arrival. Also, I am 5'11 200 pounds and I got these in L/XL (16oz) and they feel a bit big, just to give you an idea. Overall great feeling/looking gloves for training that won't put your wallet to the canvas.....get it?.

Great value

Great gloves for beginners! I wouldn't recommend heavy use (hours a day), or semi-pro usage for these gloves, but the price is lower than the quality. I've used them twice so far and like them. The tab is big enough to get them off on your own. I purchased a 12 oz set, which is small, but I have very small hands and am a beginner using them more for a workout on a heavy bag than physical contact. After doing my research in stores and online, I'm happy with this purchase. Also, I don't smell any odor as described by others. Further, I do think the logo will wear off as it is simple screenprint. However, the stitching seems to be pretty decent, the velcro strong, and the fit good. I don't think they have as good of an air flow as others I've borrowed, but at this price point, this is a very good value.

Therapy Gloves

I haven't had them for very long but they seem really durable and will save my knuckles as opposed to pounding on the bag bare handed. I use just for some good cardio. They are heavy but that just makes it a better workout. I have big hands and they fit just right. I'm 6'3 and they fit good. I'd definitely recommend them for anyone wanting to just punch the bag. The wrist support isn't supper snug but I think that's to give you room to wrap your wrists. If you got a lot of stress, it feels great just to hash it out on a bag. After ten minutes you'll be feeling a ton better. Get ya some, get ya a bag and have a nice therapy session!

Sturdy, well built, training gloves.

These are AWESOME budget gloves. I used to box in my younger years and now just needed something for the bag at the Y. These blew me away for the price to quality. I have big hands and these fit perfect. The padding is great. The velcro on the wrist is well sewed and can be tightened very tight without any fear of breaking. I've put a lot of hours on these really working the heavy bag and they are still holding up. I wouldn't hesitate to buy these or to buy these again.

Great gloves very well made

Awesome gloves for the price!!! Pros: - Size L-XL fits a little large on my medium hand but works for me as i dont like to wear tight gloves, If you do order a medium size - The price is AWESOME for this type of glove feels very sturdy and lasting materials - Very well made inside and out Cons: - None Over all i like this gloves, i used them on my Muay Thai and boxing class and they all liked this type of gloves so they ordered the same brand

Several hours a day still holding up! (Youth boxing program)

Owning a boxing gym, our equipment goes through HARD USE, meaning several hours on a pair of gloves a day by trained athletes! In the case of these gloves we wanted reasonably priced gloves for our new youth boxing program (less than 3 months training, 5-12 years old) they are doing great 4 pair are holding up suprising well.

I want to say about its size: it fits perfect to small women hands and my 10 and 12 years old sons. Quality is pretty good for that price. I bought two different pairs of boxing gloves: this one and "Everlast 12-Ounce Pro Style Muay Thai Gloves". We tried both of them and finally decided to switch Everlast gloves to another pair of these gloves but in blue.

Worth it...

Excellent quality for the price! Comfortable and durable. A lot better than my old 16 oz Everlast gloves.

Love them!

I bought two pairs for myself and my sister. We used them yesterday for the first time.They looked really big and overly padded inside but they felt so comfortable after punching 5-10 minutes. Our boxing teacher said they are great gloves and he said he couldn't believe the price. Obviously, they are great values for the price:) We can't wait for the next class:)
