Wow. Just, wow.

Just looking at this out of the package, for the price I paid, I can't believe the quality of this bag. (I got a lower price because it's red instead of black...go figure?) The sides and the chain loops are heavy leather. Sturdy stitching, The ends are heavy vinyl, and the top is actually vented, which is awesome, so moisture doesn't get trapped and whatever you fill it with doesn't get all mildewy. The hardware is heavy duty, and the chains are attached to a swivel. All you need is your ceiling hanger, and you're in business. I plan to line this with something soft (an old blanket or a sheet of foam) and fill it with rubber mulch. I will update this review once it's in use.

Filled properly its gym quality and inexpensive

Its great if you are willing to spend the time to fill it with rags or other soft material. I do however wish that it was larger so more mass could be filled into it without having to add artificial weight like a sand core.

Favorite part of my workout!

This is really well made! Everything is triple stitched and reenforced. It was a bit of a learning involved on how and what to fill this sucker with, but was worth the time to learn. Don't be dumb just look it up and don't fill the whole friggin thing with sand. Hands down my favorite part of the workout, zero buyers remorse!

Not bad, but a hassle to fill, just buy a filled one

Not too bad,,, leather is rough,, not a smooth leather at all. A real headache to fill,,, do your self a favor and buy a refill bag,,, don't believe me, then ask someone else who's done it and they'll tell you the same thing. I did. This bag will do the trick tho!

A little pricey but worth it

Good heavy bag

Admittedly I’m a beginner but this bag is standing up to everything I’m dishing out. The real leather is particularly nice and will last forever. No issue with the fasteners or the supplied chains and rings. I had to secure my own ceiling mount, but once that was done, hanging the bag was easy, albeit a two person job. As with any unfilled bag, it will only be as good as the filling. Checked YouTube and found a number of suggestions. Settled on using 70 lbs of sand in seven, 10 lb ziplock bags interspersed with fibreglass insulation. Had to repackage once to get the hang of it, but now everything is working well. Total weight, including chains is just over 90 lbs. Would recommend.

Yes, it's actual leather

Given how many "leather" items are advertised on Amazon which turn out to be synthetic, I was skeptical that a bag at this price would be actual cowhide leather. But it is, except for the top lid. This bag seems very sturdily made, with reinforced stitching at the hanging points. I filled it with a mixture of rubber mulch from Home Depot (3 bags of about 20 lb each), 40 lb of rubber sandbag pellets, and some old towels interspersed with the other materials. The final weight is around 110 lb. You'll need to use gloves or tape your hands with this bag, since the surface has texture, but overall, this is an excellent product.
