Fantastic design idea!

I've used several leak detectors over the years, and this one has a really novel design. I wanted to detect a leak from the back of a refrigerator, and the slender cord design allows monitoring narrow spaces in a way the standard boxy ones don't.

The connectors are a bit bigger than the alternatives. But otherwise, these seem as good as they are.

Sensor doesn’t work for entire length

Set it up and dipped it water to test what the reaction would be like. Nothing happened. Put water in the sink and kept lowering sensor in. It didn’t activate until half submerged. It will work as an extension to add a working sensor cord to.

Works with D-Link DCH-S161 leak detector

I bought this to use with a D-Link DCH-S161 leak detector, which also uses a 3.5mm connector, but comes with a single-point sensor. The two work together perfectly, even though the D-Link uses a 4-conductor connector, and the Honeywell is a 3-conductor. I assume D-Link uses the 4-conductor connection as a standard on other sensors. In the photo, the D-Link plug is on the left, and the Honeywell is on the right. Now I can detect water anywhere along the 4' extension cable.

Does what it should do

I like the extra length added to the rope that came with the sensor. now it reaches all the way around the unit and we can catch a leak on any side. During maintenance, the AC guy spilled a blob of water on the rope by accident and we definitely know it works!

Saved me a couple times

The added length helps me use one sensor to provide cover in front of my ac/furnace, water heater, and water softener. Much cheaper and simpler than adding multiple sensors.

A little expensive but effective

Considering the price for what it is, it’s obvious it’s expensive because it’s the only option. 35$ for a 4 foot cable is outrageous. Nevertheless, it’s not a lot of money and it works super well.
