A lot of fun for two
In some ways a basic trick taking game but with a fun colorful backstory to make the car's interesting, and a few diabolical little twists that make for challenging strategy. My wife and I have had a lot of fun playing many nights after dinner, and one outsmarts the other back-and-forth. One will get an edge for a while until the other figures out the sneaky little tricks, bluffs and deceptions and counters with their own and then maybe gets a bit of a edge for a while.

Fun game… if everyone is a good sport
This was a really fun game. Very similar to rook, but for two people. I really enjoyed it. The only problem is because there’s only two people playing if one person wins, and then persons grumpy about it causes problems.

Great two person game
If you're looking for a new, easy to learn game geared for two people, this is a great choice. The artwork is terrific and the game is based on more traditional card games (trick-taking, trump suits, etc.), so it's easy for card players to pick up. I keep it in my tote bag for leisurely afternoons at the coffee shop.

Don't expect a quality box.
Very disappointed, as we were mainly buying this to replace a box we had gotten wet by accident. The box it came in was a very cheaply made travel type box, not the original, quality two piece box

Fun 2 player game!
My 10 year old enjoys this. It’s a fun, quick game.

Fun for 2 people
This fits the bill for an easy to learn hard to master 2 person card game. Throw the tokens away and just keep score on a piece of paper.

War Meets Uno
If you've never played a "trick-taking" game, this will be a little confusing the first round, but by the second, you will have a good grasp on the game. The name of the game is to get the higher number of your opponents suit, or trump his card by playing the suit of the decree. The twist is you can win just as many points being "humble" and winning almost no rounds, as being "victorious" and winning 7-9. But if you win more than that, a second twist, is no points! What seems pretty simple can get strategic and cutthroat as you sabotage your opponent by "making" them win. The the thing we were most confused by was what to do when the decree cards were all spent (as it's only 7 rounds), but in the end we just reshuffled them. Whether or not you are meant to play them as-is and just isn't in the rule booklet, so that makes it house rules. Its much like war in the fast paced gameplay, and how you are each playing and taking duets of cards. It's like uno in that you are trying to match suits and numbers, but there are special cards that change the game. For us, this took only 3 rounds of play, between trick points and bonus treasure points. I can't see this taking more than 4 or 5, and the rounds go very quickly once you are comfortable with game play

Halfway between a game of traditional Playing Cards and something like Love Letter..
My wife loves games you play with a traditional deck of cards, and I love deck builders and games like Love Letter (okay, she likes Love Letter too), but often we are at odds because I'm always in the mood for the latter and the former bores me. This is a nice compromise. Based on the item page I thought this was a game with every card having powers (like Love Letter, Brave Rats, etc) but no, some of the cards are just regular playing cards of a suite. Since there are only three suites and the suites are simplified the game has to be very well balanced to pull this off and it does. Gameplay is easy to learn smooth, and enjoyable. It's a little tricky to figure out if you want to win or lose every hand but that's where the strategy comes in (is the other player letting you win or trying to beat you?). You are supposed to play for a certain number of points/rounds but you can just play one round if you feel like it or keep playing if you're having fun, and that's a nice feature. I love the artwork but I just wish there was more of it or way I wish the unusual art was played up a bit more (the young girl wood-cutter was my favorite). Likewise I like the theme, I just wish there was more (maybe a complete story of some sort that playing the game helps to tell?). As it is, the 75% greatness of this game that feels a little incomplete is solidified by the fact that it's well balanced, high quality, and CHEAP. If the price were higher I would subtract a few points based on the fact that the game could be fleshed out a little, but at this price it's a steal. Grab it and enjoy along with Lost Cities and Guillotine.

Good 2 player game, but...
The Good: - The game is simple, well made, and fun, but suprisingly deep for that. It's easy to learn, and immediately familiar to traditional card gamers - Almost all of the illustrations are beautiful. The Ugly: - For some core gamers, the game might lack interest initially. Although I noted earlier that the game is suprisingly deep, it doesn't have the massive replayablity some games do. - You could easily replicate the game at home with a deck of cards. In that sense, the value proposition is relatively low. The Bad: - There's nothing bad per se about this game.

Great game for couples!
My husband and I love card and board games, bit is difficult to find simple card games we can carry and that are perfect for two. This game has everything we asked for: small Box, game is easy to learn, fun and competitive. I bought it for his birthday and we both can enjoy it!

Easy to learn
Very easy to learn but ages to master. The only downside is the cards are a bit flimsy. Great game and graphics though.

2 player game.
A good game. I wish it was for more players though.
