Solved my mustache challenge, but not much good for anything else

So, I'm going to be quite specific here. I bought this trimmer because I find it very difficult to trim my mustache with other trimmers. They work fine on my beard, but it's too hard to get the larger standard type comb attachments in the tight spaces under my nose. The result is that my mustache is too full, and I'm stuck with trimming the overall length just above the lip with a nail scissor. I specifically was looking for something where the adjustment aspect moved a small comb straight out from the trimmer to set the length without the longer diagonal comb(s) that can't fit under my nose. This trimmer fits that bill. I can get in the area and have good control of the length, with a good result. It does require a number of passes to do it, but in a small area, that is manageable. The problem is that it takes far too many passes to do the rest of my beard. Granted I keep it fairly short by today's standards, and it's thick and graying (which makes it more course), but the hairs don't gather well in the comb, and it took forever to do the job compared to my old trimmer. So I'm keeping it as an additional tool in the drawer just for my mustache but will use my other trimmer for everything else. If you are trying to solve for the mustache issue like I was, or you have a mustache w/o a beard, then it's a worthwhile purchase. 4 stars for that specific job, but if you want just one trimmer, it would be fewer stars.

Perfect gift

My husband was so tired of carrying a bag with different clips. He always keeps a 5 o'clock. Bought this as a Christmad gift and he loves it. He says it is convenient, the charge lasts a long time and perfect for travelers.

Robust, well-constructed, and the smart settings are great!

I mainly used this for beard, mustache, arm pits, and groin. Arm pits and groin you can use without the comb. For beard it worked amazing because you can store up to the four lengths and recall them as needed. I use a #3 and #4 guard for my beard which equates to approximately 9mm and 12mm respectively. I would recall those settings and just set it back to 1mm when I was done so it didn't try to spool up the motor to a raised height if I was using it without the comb. The blades cut well and stay sharp even with my coarse beard hair. I only had to drop a little trimmer blade oil on the blades themselves after a good cleaning around the year mark and I put one drop each in the gear slots where the guides for the comb are to lubricate the guide motors. I only did this because I noticed the comb was rattling a bit after the 8-9 month mark and the blades would get a little hot after extended use. The trimmer blade oil cleared up both. 2-3 drops on the blade and let it run for 15-20 secs while working it around the blades and 1 drop in each comb motor guide and run it up and down (about 9-12mm each time) a few times. Worked like it was brand new out of the box again. The only reason I'm buying a new one is it got used (by someone that wasn't me) and was allowed to get very wet under running water while the trimmer was running. Water got inside the trimmer while running and now the LED screen is messed up (I've seen other videos depicting the LED screen issue and they say it "happened randomly after a year or so". I'd be willing to bet it was due to getting very wet while in operation). This won't deter me from buying another one because it's THAT GOOD! The instructions explicitly state that while it can be put through running water to be cleaned it should only be done with the trimmer OFF and locked to avoid damage to the electronics. I would easily pay an extra $20-40 if there was an IP rated version of this trimmer with the same features. *Looking at you, Remington*

i must admit that i was skeptical about this beard trimmer prior to purchasing and using it, but after using it and seeing the results i have to give remington their props for designing a high quality product.

It makes your beard even! I love it

I have a full beard and I struggled with finding a good beard trimmer because they all left patches and bald spots.. but this one is so exact. The settings are a lot but I usually use anywhere from 3-10 setting, and I can choose exactly what I want. 3.2 MM? Sure! 3.5 MM? Sure! 2.8 MM? Yes! It's so cool, it's worth the money. It does only come with one guard thingy which is weird because I wished it came with 2. But other than that I rate it a 9.5/10. Don't put it anywhere near your lips without the guard on it because I knicked my lips on accident and it bled loloool.

Here are 2 scenarios where this is useful, if you answer no to either of these questions, find something else: 1) There is a global pandemic and everything else that can at least cut hair without pulling it out is completely sold out. 2) You lie awake at night, haunted by the thought that your manfro is trimmed to 4mm instead of 3.8 and would like a trimmer that solves this disaster in the least user friendly way imaginable. Review: It cuts hair. Where it fails is the most over-complicated, useless and poorly designed interface: To trim hair in 2 different length: 1. find the switch on the side, move it to unlock. 2. Wait for the trimmer motor to engage and extend to the last setting 3. fiddle with the up and down button, while it slowly counts up or down with the motor lagging behind. 4. press the on button 5. trim away. 6. press the power button again, to turn it off in order to be able to adjust the height again 7. fiddle with the annoying buttons again 8. turn it on again. 9. cut away 10. stop shaving, press the power button 11. engage the lock on the side 12. wait for the motor to retract the guard back down. Normal trimmer: 1. press on button. 1.a). rotate dial/move plastic head to desired setting (optional..) 2. cut 3. move dial again 4. cut 5. press power button to turn it off and throw it back in the drawer. Best part: you pay a whole bunch of extra money for the inconvenience! Hopefully this explains why i hate this trimmer.

Best Trimmer Ever

Throw out (or recycle) your old trimmer right now, because this thing is life changing. The biggest thing is the electronic & variable clipper guard—no baggie full of clipper guards under the sink anymore. It’s a close buttery smooth shave, ergonomic, touch screen, auto sleeps, easy to clean, and the battery lasts forever. Literally perfect.

The future of trimming is here

I would have never of thought about a motorized comb guide for a trimmer. This one works very well. It's a little bulky but still feels great in the hand and has a good weight to it. Very easy to use. The cut is perfect. So many lengths to choose from which I love. The 4 programed settings make it easy to fade my beard nicely. Without the comb guide the cut is good, but if you want a nice sharp line I would recommend getting a T-outliner ($20 from Amazon) for that crisp defined line. The only downfall is when you set it down for just a few seconds it turns off and when you slightly move it, it turns back on so I use the lock on the side for storage. I've used many different trimmers. Much better than those cheap light weight trimmers with all the attachments. My Whal trimmer was great and worked for almost 8 years so we'll see how long this one goes. If you're looking to just trim your beard this is the one to get.

Low quality

My Razor doesn't work after leas than 6 months, the display doesn't show anything and I cannot charge the battery. It was great at the first months, but after few months, now it is such a garbage! Thanks to Remington customer service, they replaced the razor but the same issue happened again after few months for the second device. I think there is a problem in the engineering level of this product
