Exactly what my old grill needed, especially for winter

The media could not be loaded. I have a very old Weber which has performed well over the last two decades. The burner, manifold, and regulator are all new OEM, so I was disappointed that it still had a hard time getting hot enough to sear meat in the winter. And it was not so great when the weather is warmer, either. I used to replace the tank long before it was empty since the grill was really weak. This adjustable regulator has solved these problems. There must be a reason that non-adjustable propane grill regulators are, I think, about 1 psi. Probably for safety reasons. But if not, I don't know why propane regulators are this low - why aren't they 5 psi and have good enough valves to handle it to compensate for cold weather and low fuel supply? Anyway, I got this adjustable regulator to get my grill hot enough in all situations, which I think would be about 3 psi (a wild guess). In the video, I turn it up to about 75% of the way. As you can hear, it sounds like a jet. Of course, I would never use it this high for more than a few seconds because it might be dangerous. Heck, who am I kidding - of course I am going to use it this high the next time I want to quickly sear sous vide meat. Note that the video is so decreased in quality that it is almost not viewable. I start with it at what I think I will normally use it - about 25%. I then turn it up to 50% for a few seconds, then 75%, before turning it back down to 25%. Update: It has now been over 4 months since I got this regulator and still going strong. At the time I got it, I was ready to swap out the propane tank since the pressure was so low. Getting this adjustable regulator allowed me to open it up enough to compensate for being less than half full such that I used the same tank on a regular basis (once every week or two) for over 4 months more and I am just running out of propane. This regulator will quickly pay for itself by being able to use the full tank of propane as opposed to swapping it out early when the pressure gets too low.

works perfect for my Weber Q1200

I bought this at the recommendation of an online blog. Basically instead of using Weber's fixed regulator, I'm getting this to replace it so more gas can be pushed through to heat the grill faster. This does not disappoint! When adjusted, even on low the flames are too high. I'm glad I got a variable regulator. The only drawback is that there are no obvious markings to show how much pressure is being let out. I've used a Sharpie just to get a frame of reference drawing from the red knob to the unit. I realized I marked it too high when I started cooking as the low was still too hot while grilling. The length is long. Perhaps I should have bought it slightly shorter but it works well because I can loop it around the base of the grill and it'll tuck into itself so it doesn't dangle. I also wish the hose was more flexible. I can see this stiffening up and having memory making it more difficult to use when the temperature drops outside. Otherwise it's a solid unit.

no converter included

i bought this unit to replace the leaky unit that only lasted one year. when i got it i then had to order the converter to eighth inch female end. thought that the same company would give me the proper replacement part. but i still love the gasone turkey fryer, with double ring gas burner it gets up to temp in a flas.

Be carefull

This is very good and usefully. But be really carefully when use cause it could be dangerous if not would be mice if have a lock to keep it in place or something like that

Leaky.

This product was used in my shop on a forge. It lasted a few months and began to leak.

FINE Adjustment

I bought this for my propane smoker after the dog chewed holes in my rubber hose. She won't chew through this metal one. Quality built. The adjustment on the regulator is tricky. I almost blew up my smoker, gas was running through like a jet engine. After some TINY movements of the red knob its set perfectly. It works like it should. I recommend this product.

braided hose not well finished. Wire protrudes at crimp

Poor quality no instructions were provided. just a hose and regulator in a plastic bag. easy to install. No markings on the regulator to show adjustment direction to increase / decrease flow. All of this can be figured out by trail and error if you have a basic knowledge working with regulator and pressurized gas. I would not recommend this product as DIY regulator. Biggest problem poor quality of the hose crimp at flair nut end. Dangerous sharp stainless steel wire protruding at crimp. Will cut you if not super careful.

Does what I need it to do

Has good range of control for my DIY firepit. Can crank it high or keep it low to save fuel. The last one I had from a different brand the regulator knob broke off after a few uses. This ones feels a little sturdier but will see how it holds off

Leaks

After an hour our propane range at our cabin stopped working. The connection to the regulator looked odd and I could smell a lot of propane. I diluted a bit of dish liquid and within 3 minutes the entire regulator was covered in bubbles. Very disappointed in this product and I will be returning it.

Do not buy this!

Great product for first 3 uses and on the 4th use, the hose caught on fire. My guess, the rubber melted and leaked out of metal braiding. Past return date so all I get is a bad review.
