Great Gate So Far Day 1
We got this gate to keep the dogs at the bottom of our staircase. We like this gate because it’s so tall that our lab Pyrenees mix isn’t able to easily hop it like most other gates. It took a little longer to install than I had thought. I wasn’t a big fan of the written instructions for assembly, but it comes with two little sheets of paper that you can hold up against the wall to know where exactly to line the screws. When you assemble the gate, I found it best to install all the mounting brackets on the wall, and then I put the gate on the hinge side and checked the top of it with a level to see where I needed to unscrew the top hinge more to make it looser so that way it was level. That is because at the bottom we have a board coming out so it’s a different length for the top than the bottom. Now that it’s installed, it seems to be a 5 star gate. If I change my mind for the worse, I will update this rating. But right now it looks sturdy and visually appealing. Great gate for the price.

Horrible INSTRUCTIONS and Coupler fits too tight.
Things I love about this product: It is very sturdy and once installed my dog cannot knock it down like the tension type gates. Second, it is very tall. Third, love the easy latch. My hands do not cramp up like trying to open other gates. Things I don't like: First, absolutely useless instructions. What we thought would take ten minutes turned out to be 50. Second, we almost gave up at the point the coupler should have snapped on. It is VERY tight and had I not told my husband to just try hammering it, we would have returned it. And lastly, if you have large base boards, the gate must be installed above it, leaving quite a gap at the bottom. This is not the case with tension type gates. We had to put a board along the bottom as our puppy could slide right under where the gap was. Thus, we tripped over the board until we got used to it. My concern would be that if installing above the baseboards, a small child could easily get it's neck caught inside the gap. Hope this helps!????

So happy to have this on our deck
Recently moved and needed something at the top of our ramp for the front deck. Very sturdy, very well made and once a person figures out how to open/close the gate, it's perfect! Obviously, I was not in attendance during my husband's installation but he reported to me it was ugly! He's 74 years old and to me, that means if he had to do this 20 + years ago, it would have been much easier. Lots of things we tackle would have been easier 20 years ago *sigh* Above pleased with this purchase. I didn't want a bottom frame to trip over like so many of them are designed with. Swings with ease and no effort.

Awsome buy
Great buy. I have a shepherd and she loves to throw herself down the stairs. Afraid of her breaking her legs we bought this. She tried tried to jump it, but she was no able to. She has tried to open it but the latch is tight and he bottom piece that holds it in place is does its job extremely well. We didn't read the instructions we watched a YouTube video. Made it easier to install.

Faulty Part BUT Awesome Regalo Baby Customer Service
I ordered this gate in November of 2022, and this part broke by March of 2023. I was really surprised that it lasted all of 4 months. I tried looking for replacement parts online, but had no luck. I was able to send an email to Regalo Baby's customer support team and they sent me free replacement hardware. They do have them for purchase so make sure to have few on hand ESPECIALLY if this is protecting/blocking both your top and bottom of stairs. Mine is in my kitchen doorway so it isn't a life a death situation, but I can't imagine this happening at the top of stairs keep a toddler from falling.

Sturdy
The gate works great. It was easy to install and has withstood my children standing on the bar trashing to escape downstairs. This is my second one and the only one I will ever use

Originally we thought that this might be to far from the floor for our little.escape artist pup. But we pleasently surprised at how well it worked. Pro: Quick and easy to install Secure and durable Great for bigger dogs Con: Could be to far from floor for smaller dogs unless you put the gate in your baseboard.

Perfect and so easy to open/close
I have always hated gates. I'm 63 so the thought of those darn wooden baby gates???!! Then I came to Amazon and im overwhelmed by this product!! I installed it by myself too(pat on the back!!)!lol it is structured very well and I had no problem w/ instructions. Yay Cogniforce! (Oops, that's another amazing product!!!!) ????????

Kind of useless if you have more than one young child
My two year old figured out how to open this gate within two or three days of it being installed. I'm aware that it's advertised as being for children upto two years old but I didn't expect it to be so easy for a two year old to open. I also have a one year old so if my two year old opens this she doesn't know to close it behind her and it does nothing to keep my one year old out of harms way. Hence if you are in a similar situation with two or more young children this is definitely not the gate you want. If you only have one child or are using this for dogs it will probably work just fine. The reason I choose this gate was because it's extra tall. If I had known the locking mechanism was the way it was, I would not have purchased it. I installed this in a hallway but under no circumstances would I want this installed at the top of stairs. In comparison to the gate I have at the top of my stairs it feels very flimsy. I was able to rig it up so that it's still useable by making it so that my two year old can't reach the locking mechanism but overall its a very disappointing purchase. I had to drill holes into some trim to make it work and in addition to that I have extra holes in my drywall that I need to patch because I had to move the latch up

Great Gate!
I bought this gate because it is the tallest gate I could find that was wide enough for the space I needed it for. Keep it mind this isn’t your conventional walk through gate. You can walk through it though ofcoruse, but for wide spaces it swings open very wide. This gate is actually great because you can take it off the wall when you are not using it which is what I love. It doesn’t clutter my space when I’m home and when I’m gone I put it up for my dog to keep her contained to the kitchen and is fastened to the wall incase she jumps on it. Highly recommend if they is what you are looking for.

Ignore the instructions
Bought this as a pet gate to keep my 80lb dog upstairs when I have guests. I read the instructions about 5 times and they are incredibly small and really confusing. So I ignored them and it was much easier to figure out. It came with strips of paper to tape to the wall with images of brackets. It was the best feature of this whole kit! Installed in about 5 minutes. Seems sturdy enough and I love that it swings both ways if I need it to. Not bad for $55!

model #1255b batch # YC R16136 problems Regalo Extra Tall 2-in-1 Stairway and Hallway Walk Through Gate, Black hinges seem to catch. The metal part is not bent to a 90* so it stays up and not letting it lock. The biggest problem I have and i'm really upset about is the lock is not ambidextrous as they should supply a right and and left hand and a center swing through lock. I have 3 gates and this one is by far the cheapest one made. The lock plastic is pretty soft and will ware I bet within 4 months ...I would never trust this gate at the top of any stairs due to the soft plastic lock. I'm using mine to stop my kids from going into kitchen and opening up my fridge and cupboards.
