Just what I needed
These envelopes are great and perfect what I needed them for. I’m mailing out my wedding invitations which have some embellishments on them and wanted something a bit sturdier than a regular envelope to protect them from getting damaged in the mail. These are true to 6”x8” size and made out of a thick cardstock, there’s no inside padding. My invites are 5.5”x7.5” with a little bit of thickness to them (about the thickness of 10-15 photos) and they fit snuggly in these envelopes. I wouldn’t really recommend anything much bigger than this otherwise it may be a too tight a fit. The total weight was around 3.10 ounces in which my invite was probably half of that. I thought I would be able to use a couple 2-ounce stamps (at $.71 each) on these but good thing I double checked with the post office first. Postage for domestic first-class mail came out to be $3.50 each. The postal worker assisting me advised that the envelope was considered a “special mailer” since it didn’t bend so the cost was a bit more than regular mail. On the upside, it did come with tracking so at least we’ll know for sure they got delivered!

For mailing flat items
These would tend to be called "photo mailers" or "media mailers" for photos or DVDs, etc, but I bought these so I can mail a couple of homemade flattened face masks at a time. I did the math, and when a flat letter is mailed it is one low rate, but if it is a 1st class package it costs several dollars more (though still less than Priority). So I slide the flat masks into the envelope and pay the first class postage for a first class large flat envelope, at (currently) $1 for the first ounce and .20 for each additional ounce. The package itself weighs the first ounce but the masks are light, so they usually ship for about $1.40. You can't do this with lumpy objects and it really does have to mail flat.

Nice photo mailer for 5x7 photos, documents, or cards
For the price, I feel these are worth it. I was able to send family members 5x7 school and sports photos quite easily. Granted, I also enclosed Christmas cards. I would recommend these mailers. Mine did not come in the box shown with this item. Mine were shipped in a cardboard package carton. Once you open the carton, unless you rubber band it closed or re-tape it, the 25 envelopes will need something else to keep them together and orderly. This is the reason for a 4 star rating vs 5 stars. I have not ordered other photo mailers online, so I do not have others to compare this particular one to. I would use this for sending photos, documents, or cards. I would not use this for rough or textured items that might puncture the mailer. These are only cardboard mailers. They do not have any bubbles or packing inserts. You simply remove the paper strip, fold the top over, and seal using the adhesive. The sealed envelope is then opened with a pull tab.

Tight fit but works perfectly
Size is a little smaller than expected, does not fit 6"x8" mylar bags, had to fold them down to fit the width. The outer measurement is exactly 6". However, this does make it the cheaper mailing rate as it fits within the 6 1/8th" allowance. So, this is sized for 5"x7" contents. I am customizing the blank surface for my branding and acrylic paint works nicely on them. I would prefer the craft paper/cardboard look, but the white does show colors on it vibrantly. My packaging looks unique and distinctive. I did stencil on top, and had a little difficulting with the bottom layer of paint not adhering but it worked well with my designs. The mailer is nice and sturdy. I am confident my products will be shipped safely. The adhesive feels secure as well. My items were a tight fit, but worked.

These are rigid mailers
I sell Greeting Cards and Prints. I use these to ship small items, and they work perfectly. They do not easily bend. I just wish I could fit more in them. Because they are so rigid, you can't fit very many 5x7 Greeting Cards in them, and in those cases I have to use a larger and more expensive rigid mailer.

Would recommend
I actually like that it’s not rigid. It’s just stiff enough for shipping stickers/ art prints without adding too much weight. All envelopes came glossy white and clean. The adhesives were strong. There’s a logo and ‘made in china’ printed on the bottom but I just cover it with stickers. Looks high quality especially for the price. I would repurchase when I run out.

Safe and Secure
I love them. I have received kudos for using them for shipping sports trading cards. I can even ship for under a buck using the new ebay shipping program!! NEVER has a card been damages and I have went thru over 100 of them. Use the shipping label on the back where they seal as an added tamper proof security measure, not that it is needed.

Glossy Envelope
This is the second box of rigid mailers that I've bought. The previous were larger, but of the same material and manufacturer. I use these to mail out paintings that I don't want to be bent during shipment. The mailer itself is fairly stiff (though I include additional shipping material to keep it from bending). The envelope material is a little glossy, so when I stamp my return address on the envelope, I either have to use alcohol-based ink or cover it with a piece of clear tape to keep it from smudging. There is an adhesive strip at the top for mailing and a tear tab for opening. The adhesive is strong, as I've barely had to press the envelopes closed and never have any issues with them sticking. I can fit 2 5x7" pieces of art inside the envelopes, though I usually just stick 1 in with a piece of chipboard to keep it rigid. Overall, for the price, I'd say it's a great deal.

Decent mailers with some drawbacks
My thoughts on these mailers: - they are pretty darn rigid! I have yet to receive any complaints about my prints arriving damaged so that's a good sign that these mailers will stand up to postal sorting systems. - as a result of being rigid, these mailers are quite heavy. They are 42g each so when I mail even 1 print out with stamps, I need to pay for the oversized rate. - the size (6x8) refers to the outside dimensions. The inside/ usable dimensions are smaller, approximately 5.75 x 7.5 inches. Note that the bottom where the fiberboard is folded to make the mailer is quite stiff so it's hard to push something all the way to the bottom. It was possible to put a 5.25 x 7.25 inch piece of cardstock in there, but it felt a bit too snug for my liking. - the protective lining strip only covers the portion of the mailer that has the glue which makes it very difficult to peel it off to expose the adhesive. - the listing photo did not match what I actually received, although the product still did what it was supposed to do. At the time of purchase, the photo showed a mailer with a brown interior and a longer protective strip but what I received was a white interior with a tiny protective strip. Even now, the photo is not entirely accurate because the way the paper board is folded is not the same as what I got, which is a combination of the small strip from the all white version plus the folding design of the brown interior version. - when I fold over the flap, I often find that the outer paperboard cracks at the fold line. Maybe it's a little too rigid and doesn't take folding or bending well, but it looks a bit unprofessional to see. Luckily, the cracking only looks to be at the surface layer and doesn't seem to affect the function. I got these mailers at a discounted price (approx. $0.45 each) that was comparable to other mailers that I've purchased at a similar price point. However, based on my impression, I feel that they are too expensive at the current price, and would recommend waiting for a sale. tl;dr 3/5 overall; they certainly do the job well enough, but I thought the quality was not up to my standards.

MUST READ
I was hesitant to buy these because of mixed reviews, but thanks to the return policy I took a chance and I'm so glad I did! WOW! These are SUPER sturdy. They are solid and well made. They'll be perfect for mailing out handmade cards from my Etsy Shop. As a new shop quality control is important to me and having my item arrive safely is more important than the purchase itself. I have such peace of mind sending my product in these!

Perfect for mailing handmade cards
I use these rigid mailers to mail handmade cards to my friends and family. While they do require extra postage, they are more than capable of keeping their contents safe and un-mangled. The surface of the mailer is easy to write on with either pen or Sharpie, or you can also adhere mailing labels to it. The adhesive flap stays closed even when sent during super hot or very cold weather.

Cracking at the edges
The ridged envelopes arrived pretty quickly but there was a slight issue with the edges of each envelope as if they were begining to crack at the seams. I don't think it will affect the sturdiness of them but it definitely is slightly worse quality than other ridged envelopes that I've purchased before.

Required 4 stamps to post
I was happy with the quality of the mailers, however my one issue was that they are too heavy and ever so slightly too big to be considered letter mail, which meant it cost a lot more to post than I expected! (4 stamps). I was using them for sending greeting cards, and found one could fit up to 5 cards. However because of the postage cost I would not buy these again and will be looking for a lighter mailer.
