NOT a replacement for the 3-bit set

I have a set of 3 DeWalt countersink bits. LOVE them (Amazon B0000225OU). I've been trying to find extra #8's to "set & forget" for the screws I use most often. I'm having a hard time doing that. I keep getting these tiny DeWalt or Bosch versions, made for some kind of "rapid load" system I don't have. (Have returned 2 packages, so far.) The DeWalt page says "replacement bits are offered", but I've yet to find them. Anywhere. The closest match I've seen to date looks like the MAKITA countersink bit (Amazon B078HPC88H). Ordering those now.

I like that the drill Chucks on to the actual counters thinking part so you don't break the bit as easily and the counter sinking part doesn't spin on the bit

Very sharp but included bit it too long.

I had such high hopes for this bit, but sadly after just a few holes it's become a pain to use with the included bit. The bit is too long for my use and as a result would loosen up while drilling. This caused the tips of the countersink cutters to break off. I did check the screws for tightness before use (I had to set the depth) so that was not a user error. I will say, it's getting three stars because it's very sharp and cuts very well. I did replace the bit with a different bit from a wornout countersink and have been very pleased with the results, and I would buy again, with the expectation that I'm going to be replacing the bit before first use.

Off the mark

I swear by Dewalt tools, but now and then they miss a step. The drill broke off (easy enough to fix), but even then, the sink was too big for a #8 screw and left a noticeable gap.

This thing is great for drilling pilot holes for soft wood like pine ...

Works with my dewalt drill flip. The bit can also be use as is you just need to make sure the bottom of the bit is not to low to allow the drill chuck to grip it tight. This thing is great for drilling pilot holes for soft wood like pine that way they won't crack. I used it to build my work bench counter top with 3/4 ply wood I sunk the screws that way I get a smothe top and nothing gets caught. Overall a great tool that every drill should accompany.

works better than most

I had a new kitchen to put in, and thought it was time to upgrade my pretty dated countersink. I like the fact this one has two set screws, as these things are always coming loose. This one cuts through the Hickory face frames of my cabinets like butter. Could it be better, yes, but for the price I think it's a decent value.

Buen filo

Llevo ya unos 250 barremos en melamina de aglomerado de 16mm y sigue con buen filo. Me hubiera gustado más resistente el tornillo para ajustar la profundidad, pero no me ha dado problemas. Volvería a comprar. Usé el del #8 para tornillo del #8 y queda excelente. Actualizo: se rompió la broca después de 750 barrenos en melamina blanca PBO de 16mm penetrando 1.5" cada barreno. Siento que perdió un poco de filo el avellanador pero nada del otro mundo. Definitivamente por el precio, volvería a comprar. No deja mal acabado como leí en otras reseñas, pero sí hay que saber usarlo para que no despostille el avellanador

Dull and inconsistent

It Made an ok hole not good ????, had to work very hard on soft or hard wood and the edge is not straight, left ruff edges and will most likely start burning soon , sad excuse for a bit , treat yourself to something more expensive if you value your wood

Para ser Dewalt decepcionante

Lo compré para un proyecto personal qué realicé en casa. Lo primero que pasó es que el prisionero viene muy flojo y como no viene la llave para apretarlo, se zafó al día de comprarla. Ok, pues empecé a perforar y avellana por separado. A las dos semanas la broca se rompió y ya sólo me queda la punta que avellana. Me duró dos semanas a lo mucho. Ahora buscaré alguna de otra marca qué sea resistente. Se aceptan opiniones.

No cumple lo que promete

El filo de la avellanadora es malo, por lo que el resultado es de mala calidad. Tengo una avellanadora DeWalt #6 que he usado por 4-5 años y tiene mejor filo y desempeño que la nueva #8. Si buscas un avellanado bueno, este no es el producto. Lo utilicé en MDF blanco de 15mm y el acabado es malo y por tanto feo.

No se puede regular el largo de profundidad en la broca

El avellanado es bueno, lo malo es que no puedes ajustar la broca, queda demasiado larga si utilizas tableros de 16 mm de espesor y quieres unir 2 los atraviesas he comprado otras marcas que si se ajusta la broca a la profundidad que desees
