Slippery when sweaty

I bought a pair of these bars less than a decade ago and love them. Decided to put a pair on a new bike because traditional bars with stationary arm rests leave me unable to access my handle bars. The problem I discovered yesterday while ride in the humid heat is the arm rests don't breath or absorb sweat like other aero bars. This left them slippery and making them feel unsteady. I only use them to give my hands a break and duck out of strong winds, but I couldn't stay in aero long because I could feel them getting wet and slippery. At one point after being stopped for while I didn't noticed my forearms had become sweaty so when I went to put my arm in the arm rest it slid leaving me slightly unsteady. They could use some absorbent or wicking covers. The previous model I have do not have this issue. They would be find on cooler days, less humid days, or if you wear long sleeves. I may put some tape on the bars where my hands go as those were also feeling slippery as well. I don't really hold the bars but rest my hands on them so I don't want them slipping off. I do wish they came with some instructions but they are pretty intuitive for set up on your own. The only problem I am having is adjusting the distance of the bar once it is attached. I'm short and need it closer but even after loosening the screws it wasn't budging. Took a star off for the update on the pads that have left them slippery when sweaty. They would have received a five if this change had not been made or they came with custom covers. I might have taken a star off for the difficulty I'm having adjusting the distance, but I know it can be done and hoping it's just user error. I had to have my daughter help hold the bars in place for me and hold my front wheel steady. Perhaps someone with a stand for maintenance and accustomed to these installations would have bene able to do it themselves.

Need to be able to put them above handle bar. Only goes below and is to low. It works but not ideal.

Love these

Got these because my hands go numb after 25 miles. Switching hand positions stopped working for me needed to try other options. Purchased these because they are wide and spring up or of the way of the bars when not in use. I did need to get used to riding on them but I have good control of my bike on these. Recommend these for others after a couple seasons using them.

Check for forearm rest hinge pin retaining clips

Mine came without a retaining clip on the left forearm rest hinge pin. The end grove of that pin did not have enough clearance from the armrest to install the E retaining clip. The right side had one installed. Had to use Gorilla Glue to fix this issue.

i use it constantly

got tennis elbow, so to make it easier on the elbow on my roadbike i got this. the height of it puts me in the same aero position as gripping the lower grip on my roadbike the cups rattle when driving on uneven surface i had to use blue loctite on all screws as they kept coming loose (the screws has preaplied theadlock, but its not good enough)

A little work to put on, but not too bad.

Comfortable, I like to use as any hand positions when riding, and also to get tucked in when the wind is blowing against you. I ride back and forth to work and these work great.

Be careful with the screws

Bike cables around the handle bar area can make it difficult to get mounting screws lined up properly leading to a cross thread. Be careful. Jon at Profile design did a great job getting me a replacement part. Well done

Like the raised arm rests, seems stable

Using for my bike setup on an indoor trainer, have not ridden outdoors. Like the angles and raised arm rests. Takes up a decent amount of space to mount on the handle bar, but I can also use the front of the drop handle bars still if I feel like it (due to raised rests).

Easy to install

Was easy to install but had to make sure to tighten as it can move on you when really digging in.

Great CLIP ON AERO bar for cycling/tri enthusiasts

I like this aero bar as it allows me to take advantage of my regular handle bar and having an aero bar at optimum aero position as well. Obviously as a clip on you do need to break your aero position shifting gears but other than that it’s amazing. With the spring on the pads I’m still able to use the center of my handle bar for steep climbs.

Appendici profile desing

Molto belle fatte e fatte bene ... fanno il loro lavoro . Unica pecca a mio avviso , il sistema delle molle e dei perni che permettono l’alzata degli appoggi andrebbe migliorata , con l’andare del tempo le vibrazioni usurano i perni sboccolandoli , causando giochi tra di loro e fastidiosi rumori , che per chi sta in bici per giorni diventano insopportabili. Quindi per quello che costano un paio di boccole per limitare attriti e giochi ci starebbero proprio bene .

競技用機材

当方、別に競技志向ではないが、人気のない直線を楽な姿勢で走りたくて導入してみた。ハンドル幅が狭いのが好みであるが、ある程度取付スペースが要求されるので、ハンドルまで交換する羽目に。当方の機材がハンドリングのクイックさを売りにしているのと、タイヤの影響で良い路面でないと安心して姿勢を取ることができなかったが、素人でも空気抵抗軽減の恩恵について実感することができた。巡航速度で時速３キロは楽勝で違う。しかし見た目がかなり大げさになるのと幅広くなってしまったハンドルへの違和感のマイナス要素と、不安定になるので前傾を取る機会が少ないため得られるメリットが限定的なのを勘案して、１ヵ月ほどで取り外した。そのうちスポルティーフを組む予定なので、そのときに再登板することになるだろうと思う。

跳ね上げ、ハンドル一体

跳ね上げ式なので、ハンドルの丈夫が握れます。ハンドル幅が決まってしますので、右左別のモデルの方が人によっては、良い場合があるかもしれません。特にハンドル回りに、ライトなどをつけることが考えるとそちら選択肢に入るかと思います。エアロを求めるのであれば、こちらのモデルの方が、腕を畳めるので、良いかと思います。マイナス星１は、肘当ての位置を決めるまで、取り外しが少し面倒です。すべてのネジを外し直さないといけません。もちろん両方。なので、ポジションが決まるまでは大変です。パットのマジックテープも強く良いのですが、この時だけは、不便です。
