Works as intended, but disappointed

Purchased this mount and for to go with the new 17 inch kettle grill. Mounts just fine, but disappointed in the grill which makes this a waste of money. Unsure if I will keep or return.

It does half the job......

Fits into the Scotty mounts fine but there isn't enough support to hold the grill upright and level. Poor design for the end that supports the grill. For the price it should perform flawlessly.

looks cheap but is really strong.

Looks are deceiving, When I was looking at this to buy I thought it looked small and weak with sub-par materials but to my surprise, this thing is bomb proof. I would be willing to bet the Scotty mount itself would break before this device. once you get it out of the packaging you will thread it on to the heaviest part of the grill bottom and then tighten everything down with a couple wrenches. once you have it facing the direction you want and it is level with your boat you then tighten it down and forget about it. super sturdy and nearly strong enough for a child to sit on.

Works great, allows different positions

This works perfectly. I needed a grill mount that would allow me to swivel the grill out for cooking, and back in for storage. The mount has a dozen or more positions that lock it in tight. Boat bouncing doesn't knock it out. For extra safety, there is only one position that allows insertion/removal. Very secure, strong. I used the Scotty "round" flush mount socket for it. Very strong, take up very little space.

Misleading advertising

Completely misleading advertising, I waited forever for this mount so I could use it for BBQing on my boat did come with the BBQ top mount like it showed in the picture just a bar with splines! Your gonna say it was in the description ? I can't even locate the top mount from Scotty so I can use it ......complete waste of time and money.
