Perfect cage for travel, for sleeping, or other occasional short periods for a medium-size bird or smaller.

My Congo African Grey Parrot joins me for a day at work once a week. I had the large, portable cage that collapses down into its own plastic base on wheels. I found that large cage was too cumbersome and heavy to break down to take home for thorough cleaning as regularly as I'd like, so I decided to find something smaller that I could lift and take home more easily. Despite its small size, this cage has been perfect. When my grey is in the cage at work, he doesn't move around that much. He's entertained by singing and chattering with me, and watching the activities of what goes on at work with all the other people. I rearranged the toys and rope perch that was in his previous cage, and he adjusted to it within hours. I would not recommend this as a permanent daily cage for a medium-size bird, because it's really too small for a bird that has to live in it 24/7. It would be like a human being forced to live inside a walk-in closet or a large bathroom for most of the day and night. A permanent cage should be large enough that it's more like a studio apartment for a human.... there needs to be enough space for the "TV and recliner, computer and desk, books, kitchenette and eating area". This cage is great for short periods of time or weekend travel.

it is VERY sturdy and well made

I. Adore. This cage. Seriously, it is VERY sturdy and well made. The tray is lightweight and super easy to clean. I love the way the feeder cups are secured: we have had latching doors in the past that my bird could open and these he can't budge. At all. The whole thing is made of metal (base, grate, tray, bars) and has held up very well. Although it is really too small for an African Grey, we have our Timneh in it. We have been in a very difficult situation and have had to move in with family and had to make the choice of giving him up or trying a smaller cage. He has actually been pretty happy in it. It is big enough that he can hang from his toy and flap his wings without hitting the sides of the cage. It is certainly strong enough to keep him in. Honestly, I think even when we move back out and he can go back into his big cage, I will keep this for sleeping in and traveling... or I may keep him in it and invest in a substantial play gym instead. Cannot rave about this cage enough!

The cage is a perfect size for a nighttime cage and for travel

The cage is a perfect size for a nighttime cage and for travel. Since the bottom grate tends to collect bird droppings, those of us who choose not to use the grate results in a large space at the bottom of the cage where the bird could try to squeeze out. Your other cages don't have this gap and my only recommendation would be that you consider eliminating that space in your future manufacturing process. Otherwise, the cage meets all of my needs. Thank you for building quality products.

Parrot cages

While these are not ornamental cages people desire, those people probably don't really want the parrots as a pet. These cages are plain, simple, and perfect for both of my parrots. Honestly, I don't think the parrots care. Anyway, my parrots are my pets and I don't think they really concerned about the cosmetic appearance of their cages. Bottom line, these are the most practical housing for my pet parrots.

Good cage

It's a good travel cage for my African grey. He likes the cage. It's good for sleeping too. I'm happy that all the pieces are metal and not plastic.

Very Stout - You Won't Be Sorry...Read Review

Very robustly built. Welded steel bars...not thin parakeet cage bars. Perfect for a LARGE/BULKY travel cage or if you take care of your own avian issues than a perfect hospital cage. Just order proper infrared light and you are set. Not a full time cage due to bottom grate's closeness to debris tray.

Parrot Cage

I bought this cage as a back-up cage for my bird and it worked out great. It is constructed very well and I feel comfortable putting my bird in there.
