Not for Cameo 4

Bought to use with my cameo 4 but its a lot thinner then the slot. Found a easy fix by taping with some washi i had lying around though. Other then that buy if your looking for an adapter and dont mind that its not really "right out of the box" ready.

Instructions not the best, but they work

It took me a while to figure out how to use these. Once I figured them out, they seem to work fine. I can see how the threads could be stripped out pretty easily if you do not put the pen holder in correctly.

Works with almost any pen

I bought this a few weeks ago and absolutely love it. I have tested it with thin markers, standard ballpoint pens, Pilot G2 pens (they have a rubber grip), and even a standard Sharpie. The holder comes with three different chucks, for lack of a better word, in small, medium, and large. You slip the pen into the appropriately-sized chuck, slide the pen into the holder until it touches the cap on the other end, then screw it in. When you screw it in, the 'fingers' tighten around the pen for stability. Insert into the machine's tool holder and sketch away! I use this to draw my standard bullet journal pages then glue-stick the pages into the journal. They come out perfect every time. If you're using multiple colors it is a bit tedious to remove the tool, unscrew the chuck, remove pen, insert next pen and align, secure chuck, and reinsert into the machine. That's not such a big deal when you consider you can use almost any pen of any size and you're not locked into using the stubby pens that Silhouette sells. The Silhouette pens are definitely easier to swap out - remove color A, insert color B - but I'm not sure how much ink is really in those and when you consider that you can buy a box of 60 stick pens for $5 from Amazon and the Silhouette sketch pens are a little over $1 each (based on MSRP of $19.99 for the 18-pen starter pack) it's a no-brainer that this accessory will pay for itself pretty easily.

Not for Cameo 4!

This pen holder is only compatible with Cameos 1-3, if you have a Cameo 4 this will not work. Nowhere on the listing does it say there is a difference. Don't be like me and open the package before realizing it won't work so you can't return it. Boo on the seller.

En la decripcion no decia bien cual era la version del soporte y seleccione el que crei que era de la cameo 4, pero me llego el de la 3, con suerte a esta tambien le sirve le recomiendo mejorar la descripcion del producto.

Must have for Silhouette!

Works perfectly. Much easier than the silhouette pens that are all dried out and barely work half the time. I can use my regular gel pens! I’m never going back!

A 'Must Have' product for Silhouette users!

This product is a must have if you like to use pens & markers in your crafting! I was able to do delicate font journaling right on my scrapbook paper with 100% satisfaction! I have rheumatoid arthritis and have a very hard time hand writing my own journaling and I don't want to print it out on a little card to add to the layout so this works perfectly, the writing is printed directly on the 12x12 cardstock base and is perfect every time, as long as you use spell check :-). This pen holder fits a multitude of writing instruments so I'm sure you will find it works with whatever you have.

Love these. I've used multiple pens and felts so far, and they work great. I do recommend that you have at least one REAL silhouette pen on hand to ensure that the point is at the correct spot. Some pens are a bit small so you have to place them in the correct position in the tool. You could probably use the blade tool for that but the pen is a bit easier to gauge.

Great way to add variety to projects

I'm still figuring out the nuances of the different pieces but so far so good. I can't seem to secure a Sharpie fine tip pen as per a video but have other roller pens that work. The holders seem to not screw all the way down into the white holder.

Seems okay

I've used it a few times with sharpies and it works fine. Be sure not to screw the adapter in too tightly or it could break, also use the correct size for your pen/marker.
