I used the Spartan for probably over 10 years, and it was still working, switched to this one
I discovered Maxpedition wallets many years ago, and I carried the other version for probably over 10 years now. It was still working fine, however I decided to switch to this one for the features. So far I am really liking this one, even better than the Spartan. This one allows me to include a Tile tracker, and its easier to insert currency than the Spartan. The velcro is seems very strong and will likely last a long time.

Initial Review: What I've Come to Expect
This is my initial review of the Maxpedition C.M.C. Wallet. It's replacing a trifold Rainbow wallet that I've had for years. It appears to be very well made - just what I've come to expect from Maxpedition. This is a bifold wallet with a Velcro-secured flap. The change pouch on the back side of the wallet is going to take some getting used to. I've never had a wallet that had one of those but I'm already using it and can see the usefulness of it. There is only one bad thing and this is about the only bad thing I have to say about this wallet after using it a just a few days. The zipper pull for the change pouch is really big and got in the way. If I carried the wallet change-pouch-out, it stuck out and printed through my pants pocket. If I carried it change-pouch-in, I could feel it all day, especially when I sat down. The zipper pull is simply too big, in my opinion. What I did was use some needle nose pliers and separated the top of the zipper slider enough so I could take the pull handle off and then closed it back down. The pull was just too big. I can move the slider up and down enough by simply pushing it with my thumb - no need for such a big zipper. If I feel I need something to slide it up and down with I'll use a piece of gutted paracord or something like that. That's it, that's the only negative I can find with this wallet so far. The Velcro on the pouch seems strong. It's loud when you open it it up. There's no way somebody could open your wallet in the same room as you and you NOT know about it. I haven't used the three elastic pouches yet but I'm sure I'll find something to keep in there. I like the way the load is distributed on this wallet. I know I'm coming from a trifold wallet so it's a little like comparing apples to oranges but this wallet distributes the load much more evenly than my old one. I don't feel like I'm sitting on a great big, thick wad of stuff. I also like that there are two currency slots in this wallet. I keep my to-be-used money in the front slot and my not-to-be-used stash money in the back slot. The size is about right. If it were any taller it would stick out from the top of my pants pocket but as it is, it fits just right. I had read and seen some reviews that the Maxpedition Spartan wallet was too tall and would stick out of some pants pockets. They must have gotten some comments and requests about that issue because this one is just the right size. As I've said, this wallet is new to me so I don't have a lot of feedback after much useage of it yet. I've carried it three days now. Should my opinion of the Maxpedition change after carrying it around some more I'll come back and update this review. But as of now, I would recommend this wallet. It seems to be a very well-made wallet: good design, strong stitching and solid materials. I hope it will last for years.

The belt coin purse
You can carry it in your belt and extract the coins you need easily in an instant. The wallet I had been searching for years!

By far the best wallet I've ever had, just bought another as a backup!
One of the biggest problems many people (including myself) have had with wallets is that they fall apart in one way or another. Either the wallet no longer seals or closes, or it rips, gets torn, etc. This wallet will have none of those problems. I bought a second Maxpedition C.M.C. Wallet only because it took me alot of time and effort to find a wallet as good as this and I'm afraid that if I lose the one I have right now, these might not be in stock any more. I've been a proud owner of this wallet for several months now and, as the reviews of others have described, it's "extremely" tough (which is good and what most of us want, of course.) I'm genuinely impressed. Right away I got an idea of its durability when I opened it for the first time...it has a solid seal that will always close when you want it to and it will stay closed, it won't open accidentally like alot of these other clumsy/floppy ass wallets. It has atleast double the amount of Velcro as most other wallets. I managed to somehow get melted chewing gum on my wallet (don't ask how) and the gum dried up seemingly permanently onto my wallet. I ran this bad boy through a full cycle of my washer machine and dryer...the gum stains were all gone and it took it like champ! I can't finish this review without mentioning the AWESOME zipper-sealed exterior compartment. This too has a really good seal, I haven't had not one single thing drop out of it...unlike other wallets. Exterior compartments are really good to have on wallets because they give quick access to items (such as change for a snack machine, for example) without having to open the wallet up and dig through stuff. On an average day I carry 2 usb flashdrives and about 2 dollars in change in the exterior compartment. There's also another really good zippered compartment inside. This wallet's 5-star ratings are well deserved.

Lot's of storage!
These wallets have lots of pockets and secure pockets. the downside is that it encourages the user to carry more things than they should. It can grow to a pretty thick size very easily. But if you need the secure storage this is the wallet for you. So far I have been using it for only a week but it seems like it could easily last a few years.

Nice looking wallet for fewer cards than I end up carrying
I wish this had more card slots and a mesh ID spot. Don’t really have a use for the elastic loops, or interior zipper pocket. I ended up putting fishing license and extras cards in the outside zipper compartment. Maxpedition products I have owned are good quality and this looks no different. Velcro is super secure. Just find it hard to fit all my cards and stuff into this conveniently. I’m going to use it anyway, until I can find that perfect wallet.

Almost great
Great product except for the zipper pocket. I love maxpedition products but this one just doesn’t meet the high standards.

Good, but large wallet
I wish they made a shorter version as it is very deep. I carry my wallet in my front pocket and due to the size it doesn't easily shift and can be uncomfortable resting my arms on my lap while driving or sitting, especially from the large zipper (I removed zipper pulls immediately). Overall, the quality is very good and it keeps everything secure. I also covered about 50% of the velcro flap and it is still very secure, and slightly less loud to open. Seller was good too, no issues at all.

the compartments are all designed in a useful way and can be utilized exceptionally
First off let me start by saying that this wallet was bought to put my old wallet to rest. The old wallet was hand crafted in nova scotia using deer leather by a man who hunted the dear himself, it cost me 200 dollars.... that being said, i'm experiencing a significant change in convenience and comfortability with this wallet that i would have never expected at this price point. The change compartment stitched to the back is an answer to my prayers because i no longer have to deal with loose change scratching stuff in my pockets, clanging around or falling in between couch cushions etc.. the compartments are all designed in a useful way and can be utilized exceptionally. the velcro would be a nuisance for most people but is thick and should have a exceptional longevity. All in all i give this wallet 5/5 stars and would choose this model over the spartan or encore model any day! this wallet also does not bend and brake my cards like most.... hope this was helpful thanks -jonnyg

Better than expected
It is one good wallet. The coin pocket is big enough. The only trouble I've had with it is the zipper on coin pocket - it is quite big and sometimes opens accidentally when I take it out from a tight pocket.

Very rugged
Great wallet ..lots of room for anything you need in it.It has an external pocket which I use for my TILE locating device and it works great.

Decent wallet but not as useful as it could be.
This is an okay wallet. Not the best Ive ever had but not the worst. For the money I would have like a couple more card slots. The cash pocket on the outside works but looks a little bit crooked and I do worry it won't last. This may just be a one off, but the workmanship is a little shoddy. The internal cash zipper is fine though. There are two sleeves for notes (One large outer and one smaller inner) doesn't really make any sense for UK notes, but can be handy for vouchers or the like. There are also a number of slots inside for USB sticks or similar objects to keep with the wallet that makes this different but not as useful as if they were were at 90 degrees so that you could fit a pen or small multi tool.... Overall It's a nice wallet for everyday use.
