Simple design, space saver, and sturdy
I'm glad I purchased the Delta Leonardo Single-Bike Rack for my mountain bike. Saving space in my cluttered garage and the need to reduce the need for me to pick up the bike as much as possible for storage are the primary reasons I made this purchase. The design is simple, the construction is sound, and mounted into the wall studs of my garage make it very sturdy. The reason I reduced my rating to 4 stars is that the instructions for mounting the unit to the wall do not present the best way to reduce stress on the front wheel over time due to bicycle weight. My mountain bike is not the lightest weight on the market (Trek 'Navigator'), and lifting it into position on the wall as well as putting the entire weight on the front wheel are two things that I wanted to avoid. So, after reading a couple of the previous buyer reviews and recommendations for installing this product, I altered my installation somewhat to make the Delta Leonardo Single-Bike Rack easier for me to use and easier on the front wheel of my bike. Since the location of my Rack is in my garage, I was not opposed to providing my bike's rear wheel with support to take all of the weight off of the front wheel. So, I first used a 16-inch cinder block placed against my garage wall to support the full weight of the bike as it stands on end against the wall. This is a convenient height (for me) to roll, lift, and support my bike against the wall. Next, I placed the front wheel support bracket on the bike's front wheel rim as I supported the bike in its intended position against the wall and marked the mounting holes along the perpendicular line I'd previously marked on the wall with my framing level. I was careful to position the Rack hook so that it held the front wheel rim without putting any stress on it. I'd advise anchoring the Rack using 3-inch deck screws into a wall stud for strength (however; with the bike's weight supported by the cinder block, I suppose a quality wall anchor would have sufficed had I not been able to locate the Rack directly over a wall stud). I then removed my bike from the wall and secured the Rack hook assembly with two deck screws. The bike was then returned to the mounted Rack, resting on the cinder block and I installed the Rear Wheel Bicycle Tray after marking its mounting holes along the same vertical line using screws (rather than the peel-off adhesive tabs that came with the Tray) for added strength. I'm very happy with how this installation worked and the ease with which I can now stow my mountain bike against the wall using the Delta Leonardo Bike Rack without having any stress on its front wheel. I would definitely recommend this product to a friend, especially with the above method of installation.

2 road + 3 MTBs hanging in garage. Add a strap for light wheels.
My husband decided it was time to organize the garage, which included getting 5 bikes off the floor and onto the wall. I looked at a number of options, including ceiling mount racks on pulleys and a variety of other strange options. This is by far the simplest, and by offsetting alternating hangers by about 6 inches, they fit pretty closely and come down fairly easily (it's all relative though - on the floor or horizontal on the wall is easiest). Our mountain bikes with 2 and 2.25 inch tires fit fine. The hooks are very stout, and you need to mount it into a stud or onto a 2 x 4 mounted into a couple of wall studs for it not to pull out. I also think we opted to use longer screws for mounting them than what came with the hooks. My only objection to this style of hanger (and its the same for all similar wheel-hung designs) is that when hung, the load on the front wheel is quite high, as a substantial portion the weight of the bike is carried on the wheel where it contacts the hanger, and it would be easy to damage a wheel or a spoke over time. Less likely for a MTB wheel, but a problem for light, skinny wheelsets. For my shiny new road bike with very light wheels, I added a long strap with an adjustable buckle behind the arcs that brace the wheel (see photos). When I hang my bike, I loop the strap back diagonally around the seatpost and cinch it up so no (or minimal) weight is placed on the wheel. If you get it just right, the wheel floats just off the hook. This is a bit of a fiddly solution, but it works great and I think my wheel will stay true. Another option would be to place a small bench just underneath the back wheel to support the bike and carry more of the weight there.

Did not come with rear wheel tray
I am disappointed that it did not come with the rear-wheel tray. The packaging says it's optional, but I can't find where to buy it separately. I want to hang my bike in the house, but without the rear wheel tray, I'm concerned about scuffing the wall.

Easy to install, great design.
Hangers were easy to install. I used the included screws direct into wood studs and they held fine. The screws aren't the best and would recommend using stronger ones as many others suggested. I did have one screw strip out and was a pain to replace. I hung road bikes, one of which has deep rims and it worked just fine for all the sizes, including my wife's bike. The padded hook does a nice job, though I don't know if it will last through multiple cold winters. The bikes are hung adjacent to each other and I had no trouble getting them on or off, I did not need to alternate up/down. The heaviest (70's steel frame) bike I mounted so the tire would rest on the ground, but others are doing just fine - the weight is displaced by the rear tire on the wall, so don't anticipate any issues with rims. Good quality product and easy to install and use - much better than other hangers I have seen.

Nice, but difficult to get on
I bought two of these for my road bike and my son's mountain bike. My road bike fits fine, but my son's mountain bike barely fits on the hook, and is very difficult to put up. Unfortunately, my son can't do it by himself. If your wheel and tire are more than 2.5", you may have trouble fitting it between the hook and the wall. There really aren't any directions for hanging your bike, and I found the process unintuitive. I found that starting with the bike's front wheel parallel to the floor and then turning it behind the hook works much better than trying to slide the bike along the wall.

Slim design is nice for smaller spaces
I bought this to put my bike in a corner of my bedroom. Space is at a premium in my apartment and this rack was a great solution. I wanted to hang it in a particular spot and didn't have the wall stud right there, so I used a wall anchor. It is holding up fine with 2 wall anchors. I would recommend finding the wall stud and using your own screws which I may have to do soon. It's been hanging on my wall for a few months now, but I worry the wall anchor I used will fail in the middle of the night while I'm sleeping or something. Not yet, at least!
