The best embossing powder I've ever used!

It's the best value for the money. It's transparent, holographic effect beats every other brand I've tried. I make handmade greeting cards and I won't use any other brand.

Literally just glitter…

Glitter can be fun and all, but I was really hoping for an actual holographic effect with this product. I suppose the large chunks of glitter are “holographic”, but they don’t melt together at all and the result is very similar to what you would get if you sprinkled children’s sparkles on Elmer’s glue. If that’s the look you’re going for, you can get a lot more bang for your buck at the dollar store.

Gorgeous but only for special projects

The holographic effect is truly striking, and is wonderful for adding sparkles to the tips of waves, snow, splashes from waterfalls, etc. (using an embossing pen). However, the product is very thick and does not work well at all on stamps with much detail; they look like rather interesting ink blots! For the certain projects, I know I will be using this frequently and have already gotten recommendations and questions about it. I also have a clear sparkling embossing powder, which is much better for detail work, and quite pretty but lacks the sheer drama of the holographic powder.

My bottle was spilled everywhere when opened! Be careful opening & shipping takes forever

This wasn’t at all what I expected it would be like. I had more of a silvery color holographic in mind, and this is like a clear/white/pinkish color. It is still pretty though, just not what I expected. Shipping took FOREVER to come from China, and then when I opened it it had leaked all in the plastic and powder went everywhere! Now my carpet and myself are covered in glitter for probably the next year... and I lost a TON of the powder so I didn’t even get a full bottle. (See photos) I wish this showed up better and weren’t clear and so sheer. It’s pretty much clear with the pink/yellowish glitter and not thick at all. But it is decent and I will still use it. I just won’t order it from here again.. IF i end up liking it more and decide to purchase it again. As of right now, I doubt I’ll ever buy another in this color. Will update review if anything changes.

My New Favorite Embossing Powder

I am just getting used to using embossing powders in my card making and paper crafts so I bought this mainly just to expand my collection for future use but I always make a "swatch" of each powder so I can know the texture, finish, and color of each one. After searching this one I can't stop using it. I love the holo effect you get, the texture is smooth, and it shows up beautifully. I will be ordering many more powders from Ranger now to expand my collection even more.

An interesting effect

Actually a pretty nice product. I mixed a pearlescent powder with some soft acrylic gloss gel and painted a piece of heavy Arches with this mixture. When it dried, I applied a piece of very fine handmade abaca paper (which has short, colored strands of string embedded in it) over the gelled page with PVA glue. Once this dried, I applied embossing medium with the stamp of my choice on the abaca paper, then shook some of the holographic embossing powder over the stamped image. After removing the excess powder, I used a heat tool to set the embossing powder. The effect is really striking: the stamped image glimmers and floats quite delicately on the abaca, but the gelled medium underneath the abaca can be clearly seen through it, along with the embedded pearlescent powder that I added to the gel medium. I am very pleased with the result.

Good powder but came damaged

I love the powder and it works great. The only thing is it has a crack on it. I don't believe it to be the delivery buy the company that made its fault. I did loss a little powder but not a whole lot so I am just gonna keep it . I do recommend and I hope you have better luck then I did because it is really nice stuff.

Good quality embossing powder

This embossing powder is WHITE and really stands out on dark colours. It is very fine so suitable for use with complex stamps. Recommend

Works well for embossing – Nice metallic grey but spreads out when heated

The Ranger Gunmetal Metallic Embossing Powder works well. It coats well and embosses nicely. I'm happy with the product and like the colour. I've tried this embossing powder on light and dark coloured cardstock using a clear embossing ink pad. It has a darker metallic sheen which is quite nice. To note, however, the embossing powder does spread when heated so it may not be as appropriate to stamps with fine details. You can see, in the picture posted, the difference in the gunmetal and a different gold powder I had on hand using the same ink pad and technique. Pigment inks also work well for use with embossing powders as they are a little thicker and take longer to dry than dye inks. However, being a darker colour embossing powder, it will overtake whatever colour your pigment ink is. Overall, I'm happy with this embossing powder. I really hope you found this review was helpful for you!!

The Ranger Holographic Embossing Powder works well. It coats well and embosses nicely. I'm very happy with the product and will not hesitate to purchase again when I run out. The embossing powder will last quite a while as you can apply it fairly heavily and shake off the excess back into the container for next time. I've tried this embossing powder on light and dark coloured cardstock using both a clear embossing ink pad as well as coloured pigment ink. I prefer it's effect when using the pigment ink as it allows the colour to be visible while providing a nice effect. The effect changes depending on the angle you look at it. Pigment inks work well for use with embossing powders as they are a little thicker and take longer to dry than dye inks. Overall, I'm very happy with this embossing powder. I highly recommend this powder to other embossing enthusiasts and will not hesitate to order it again. I really hope you found this review was helpful for you!!
