Works great, but front entry cover doesn't fit right

I bought two of these and generally they work quite well. Previously, I used the crystal litter with normal litter boxes, and switched to these self-cleaning boxes because I was awful about scooping the litter. My cats took to the boxes immediately and seem to tolerate using the boxes for longer before replacing the litter than they did before. They also don't have any accidents around the house anymore. Additionally, I no longer have to worry about my dog trying to eat the cats' waste, because the self-cleaning cycle moves the waste to a hidden compartment before she can get to it. The only qualm that I have with the device is that the flap that moves up and down to block off the waste compartment is impeded by the front entry cover. The flap is always able to move up and let the rake move the waste away, but sometimes the cover prevents it from closing all of the way and there is a gap of a couple inches under the flap where the waste is exposed. This happens to both of my litter boxes so I'm fairly certain it is a design flaw rather than a manufacturing issue. Ultimately, this doesn't really bother me or my cats, but is likely a much bigger problem if you are more sensitive to the smell or you purchase the top entry model (which I imagine has the same issue but worse).

Helpful and perfect for me

I have major depression and sometimes find it hard to do daily tasks for myself so I started using the older version of this little box when I got my cat so she will be well taken care of. This year she chewed the cord for the older one so I decided to upgrade since it's been 3 years and I don't regret it. This newer version has an app to track her usage and remind me when to change the tray which I admittedly struggled with before since I wasn't cleaning it daily. This way she can be happy and healthy and I'll know when something is wrong. She also used it right away but she's been used to this type of box since I rescued her. My sister also purchased this newer one when she saw how useful the older one was for me and she loves it. Highly recommend!!

My cats & I loved it!

I ordered the WiFi comparable litter box based on other customer reviews. Unfortunately the “unsmart” litter box arrived even though I had paid for the “smart” litter box. I have returned it & will order it again as soon my refund comes through. I really like everything about this box! No muss, no fuss, and it really seems to last a long time even with 2 mature cats. Now I’m buying cat furniture to hide it in instead of buying the coveted top version.

About a 0% chance it will last 30 days as advertised!

I have really bad gag problems with stuff like smell and similar things, so when I got my first kitten I figured this would be perfect! At first, it worked decently well (Mind that the little one was only 10 weeks old at this point). She took to it really well and likes the crystal litter. However, I very quickly realized that there were problems. First, while it does help with odor control at first with a fresh set of litter, in about a week there is a veeeeeeery obvious smell that starts wafting from there. If that was it though I would still love this. It was once she got older that the bigger problems started. First it was the fact that 1 pack of litter can barely last a week. It gets so full that it literally starts to flow over the front edge of the bin. Second is the litter gets into the inside and I have to completely take apart the machine in order to get the motors to work and have the thing actually scoop. Also as she got bigger the crystals really started to get stuck into her paws and I find them over the entire house. This happens regardless of how many litter mats I put down. Finally while it does a decent job at dehydrating the poop like it's supposed to, it essentially just lets the pee pool on the bottom, and the smell of that get really terrible. Overall it seems like this is made for smaller cats where the litter will actually have a chance to do it's job. I have already ordered a new litter machine, but I really wish I had just done that in the first place.

It's the most beautiful invention of all times. My two cats are using it like a champ. I set the timer to go off 20 mins after use and it's a dream. I don't smell cat litter or them pooping. I stay up on the change out of the crystals. All I can say it's magical. They were very close to be throw in the woods when they poop lol. I like it so far.

Litter gets stuck onto paws

I don’t find this litter box to be very sanitary. It doesn’t really “rake” away all of the poop pieces and merely breaks it down, which then gets mixed into the litter and then gets caught into the cat’s paws. The cat tries to clean its paws onto the sides of the litter box (so we always have poop marks around the litter box) but I also always find litter crystals on the paws. I wonder what kind of debris they’ve been spreading all over the house. What am I doing wrong? This has been a stressful purchase, and it’s not a cheap one!

Easy to set up but difficult to get the cats to like it.

Easy to set up but difficult to get the cats to like it. I even tried placing old litter mixed with these crystals. Any ideas? For the most part, the unit is quite nice and I love the self cleaning, electronic rake. One downside is that the base is cardboard so look out for occasional leaking pee.

Pretty good but needs a price adjustment for refills ASAP

Likes: super easy to use, way less odour from cats (2), feel at ease leaving the cats for a night or 2 knowing the litter is cleaned often. So far the cats have had zero accidents where as before they had minor ones. Cleaning is Fairly quiet and doesn’t scare the cats Delivery for new refills took longer than expected but I was able to scoop out poop to throw away for longer use of box. Dislikes: the price for the refills…. Not sure if it’s really sustainable financially. Box of 3 for $65.. vs my $12.99 litter bag that would last a couple months. Not eco friendly with lots of waste from refills…. The reusable tray is $70… seriously?! I tried other trays but they don’t fit. The pebbles/crystals end up all over and I step on them- gross and annoying. Same as regular litter but larger pieces. Advertised as cleaner but I somewhat disagree. At first the cats did not use it dispute me trying everything- mixing their old litter in the new box and new crystals in old litter, litters side by side. Finally removed the old box and they were fine using the new one. Size- it’s large. I cannot find a litter enclosure large enough to fit it so it’s hidden. My last box fit into a bench designed for litter boxes. Overall, would recommend for people who seriously hate cleaning the litter box or go away often. It has been very helpful this summer.

Huge Improvement From Other Pooper Scoopers And Very Quiet!!!

What a difference from other Pooper Scoopers. I live in a converted RV Tiny home, and I wasn’t even expecting this box would be very quiet, which has been a welcome surprise. Since the box is in a locker space that has a catdoor to my bathroom on the inside, and a catdoor to the Catio on the outside, I need to move the Catio to access the box, so the electronically monitored version, eliminates the guessing. Also, this litter doesn’t require frequent topping up, every 2nd day with 2 cats with clumping litter, it only requires the changing of the litter. Since I have a bad back, the lightness and the less moving of the Catio to access the box, eliminates injuring my back. I purchased the matching tray, reducing the cost, and so much easier to clean compared to other automatics and other litters. The cost of the litter however is more expensive, but in my case, cheaper than a chiropractor, and far less and lighter waste to the dump, as there is no garbage service where I live.

Great fit for any space

I currently live in a one bedroom apartment and was worried about the odor of a litter box. I've loved the absorbant crystal litter, the slow cleaning mechanism (my cat watches it like a hawk when it cleans but isn't scared of it), and the ease of throwing out the entire box every 25-30 days. Tip for new buyers: my new cat took to it immediately the same night I brought him home but I left the box unplugged for two weeks. I'd advise getting your cat used to the box 1st, but in my experience there was no fear of the cleaning sweeper after a few times running it. Seeing the info on the app eases my mind while I'm away from home as well! 5 stars.

Worth the jump if you can afford

From other reviews I’ve noticed people commenting on a few things, so here’s my take on those issues. Price - yup, definitely more expensive to run than traditional litter Scent - smell freeeeeeeee, right until the last few poops. Then just as smelly as normal litter, but 95% of the time smell free and if I didn’t want the 5% I could change the tray earlier Walking on balls - yup, think tiny Lego, they’re annoying, but just as annoying as regular litter Timeline - my two guys are going through it faster than the ads claim, but I do not care! This litter is ridiculously easy to use, I never have to touch cat litter or wash the bottom, super clean and sooooooo much better for smell. I am obsessed with it and it’s worth the high price point for what I am getting.

Works but....

It does scoop, but you have to change the litter so often because it smells like pee so fast that you might as well just be doing the scooping yourself. There is only a small amount of litter in the boxes so with 2 cats, you really need to change it weekly which makes it very expensive. I bought more crystal litter to use with it but again, you end up scooping yourself. Not worth the expensive price tag. I'd return if my window hadn't already closed.
