Neat Design!
I purchased this based solely upon the design with the "mason jar" type glass. I bought this for my mother as she LOVED feeding the humming birds. Unfortunately, she died just weeks after gifting this item so it was never used by her. I tried it late last year in my own yard, but saw very few birds. I'm anxious to set it up again this spring and see what happens. It's easy to clean and take care of. I would buy another if I have luck this spring/summer.

Hummingbirds feeder
To feed the hummingbirds on the first try it cracked on me can I replace it for free ?

Great feeders
I like these feeders and have 4 of them. I like them because they are easy to clean and more importantly they are easy to fill! Wide mouth. And the birds prefer them to the red feeders I used to have.

Very nice looking but has issues
While this was a very nice looking feeder it has proven over time that the finish on the inside of the reservoir degrades resulting in fast discoloration of the hummingbird food which may or may not be harmful to the birds

WIsh it is red mason Jar
The mason jar is sturdy, but humming birds seem to like red instead of blue. I wish the jar is light red and so are the flowers around the base. Overall, I saw humming birds visit the feeder.

Almost Perfect - Best we have used so far.
We bought two to replace a couple of 6-hole feeders that were popular with the hummers but were a pain to fill and impossible to clean. After we started with the first two we replaced the other feeders with another pair. We run six quarts a day through four feeders. They are easy to fill, and don't require major cleaning if you hit the bottom of the feeder with a shot from the hose before you fill it. It is the most practical design we've used. There are two caveats: The bail is useless. Too short, and it won't stand up to go over a hook. I bent a piece of #12 copper wire to make a large loop that will hook over our shepherd crooks. The other issue is it is possible to cross thread the base to the jar if you don't pay attention. That causes a leak between the two parts of the base when you flip it up to hang it. Update 8/2021: The bottom that holds the syrup is powder coated, not galvanized. The ring that holds the flowers is galvanized, but it isn't leaching into the syrup. We still are running about 6 quarts per day through 4 active feeders. We bought 5 more of these feeders. The local Rural King sold a batch for less than $10 each so I bought them all. We swap the active feeders out weekly. 5 or 6 cups of sugar to a gallon of water is their rocket fuel. They eat tons of bugs for their vitamins. Fuel can be any color or even clear. They will drain the older rusty feeders with paint peeled off the flowers as quickly as the shiny new ones. Most important is not letting hummers starve with all feeders empty. When we can't refill in a timely fashion we have to put out additional feeders to keep our birds fed. After three years the problems are that the bale is too short to hang on a hook, and the ant traps that Perky pets makes have to be replaced every year. The hooks on the ant trap get brittle (UV) and can drop the heavy feeder in a storm. If the pop rivet on the bottom gets loose a hammer and punch will tighten it up and stop the leak. . These feeders are for people who want to adopt hummers for the summer. If you feed them they rely on the food and will gather and reproduce to use up the available food. With these feeders we have seen less fighting and more reproduction. If you suddenly stop feeding your colony of birds they will seek other sources. These are by far the most hygenic feeders we have had in 30 years of hummers.

Chinese Junk!
Great when it was new but after one season the feeder lid rust. Useless now...the birds won't feed for it.

Quite a heavy hummingbird feeder. Hummers in my yard seem to prefer the smaller feeders
This is a very heavy bird feeder empty so it gets challenging for a short woman like myself to hang when full of nectar. My backyard hummers seem to prefer the smaller feeders, so I've had to dump the unused & spoiled nectar down the drain. It was a nice try, but it gets no takers from the hummingbirds in my yard.

It was awesome while it lasted but I would not recommend this feeder.
We have been using this feeder for a couple of weeks. Other than loving the look of it we purchased this one because it is made out of metal and glass rather than plastic. The hummingbirds love it. But after washing it three times and hanging it up this week it's started to leak where the metal base meets the metal top with the flowers mounted to it. It's been handled gently each cleaning and I can't see a reason for the leaking other than poor tolerances between the two parts. There is no seal at this connection, just the pressure of the metal against metal. I've taken it down, cleaned it and carefully put it back together. Still leaking.

Not actual red glass, but painted/glazed exterior red on glass
I bought 2 thinking actual red glass. Came placed upright in open, used Amazon box with another customer's info all over shipping label, proper bubble wrap/packing (1 base barely screwed on, 1 base on so tight nearly could not get off, but, zero plastic, all parts some type of metals - so no direct hot sun, hopefully no rusting). Love the size (equivalent to actual Ball/Mason wide-mouth jars) and my hummers will go through it in a couple days. Placed outside in the usual spot, next to old smaller feeder this morning - hummers not happy about them - yet. Will try to update on quality in a few weeks.

Glass broke Be Very Careful unscrewing base.
In process of changing nectar started to unscrew base jar broke pieces fell into sink. Didn’t cut my hands or wrists but almost. I am asking for a refund on this product. NOPE REFUND NOT AVAILABLE. Birds didn’t like feeder I feel. Not sure if they can taste metal but hardly and nectar taken for 2 weeks NO REFUND AVAILABLE.

Doesn't hold liquid and birds hate it
It's a great looking feeder, but the metallic finish is already coming off, it won't hold any liquid (it's just slowly dripped a huge puddle onto my patio), and I've watched hummingbirds fly up close and take off - not sure if it's the metal like some people are saying. I have now read about how feeders are okay with metal as long as the nectar isn't making direct contact and tainting it - which this one is.

Disappointed pet enthusiast
The glass is painted and peeling after less than a season of use. You put the sugar water solution in and the water rusts everything inside. The bottom tray is plastic coated to try and prevent this but the manufacturer made the top plate of a galvanized metal and rivets which rusts everything inside. We already complained to Perky Pets and got replacement Hummingbird feeders which are all clear glass and plastic. Don't waste your money on this model. It looks good but does not perform.
