Good feeder, bad choice on my part ...*
I didn't take it for granted that the birds by my place are big, too big to perch. That was my mistake as the feeder is very well made.

Not for a first time bird feeder
The hole for the seed to come out is too small for the birds that visit- I made the hole larger and now the birds are visiting. The seed gets wet too easily out in the open so put it under an overhang. It does hold a good amount of seed and comes apart easily to clean. I had planned to let it hang on a shepherds hook but it swings too much. I am going to change where I have this. This is my first bird feeder so perhaps my inexperience is showing.

Best wall/eve mount feeder so far
This is my second Perky Pet 101-5 Wall and Post Mount Feeder. I am very happy with these. I put it right next to another I had so that the Chickadees can hang out high under the porch. These only hang a few feet away from stairs, but I think that the reason the squirrels don't get into them is the way the railing meets the stairs and they just can get a good angle to jump. I also wind the perch with electric tape or waterproof bandage tape. The Chickadees seem to like it, and will just sit there and eat, especially when it's cold. In one feeder I have porch and patio mess free mix although it is not truly mess free. In the other I mixed sunflower and safflower. We'll see what happens. You can't put a heavy peanut mix in these because they will just get stuck. Overall these are one of the best feeders I've bought so far. The one has lasted 3 years without a problem, so now I have 2. And even in pretty high winds they have stayed put. Mine are just hung on nails.

Birds love this thing
I’ve had this for three months. Every time I fill it with bird seed, it’s like an aviary in my back yard. Took them a few days to find it ..but when they did the word got out around the bird community

Pleased overall and the birds like it too
Update: Feb 20, 2020 While the birds do like it, the narrow opening can get clogged and the plastic screen has cracks in it which is surprising given we’ve not had a very cold winter this far. Took several weeks for the birds to adopt it, it’s close to trees off our deck so they can flit in/out of it. The cardinal make and his mate have adopted it regularly. I use the Deluxe Wild Bird Treat mix in it. The cap keeps the rain out, a little difficult to clean out the inside at the bottom.

Great little add on with a Perch.
I love these feeders. I needed to add more feeders due to having to refill every 4 or 5 days. These feeders work Great for sitting right up against the feeder pole inside of the other hanging feeders. Of all of the Bird Feeders that I have, this is the very easiest to clean. Also the smaller birds, Wrens etc. can eat, and stay out of the larger birds, Cardinals etc. way. I have alot of Woodpeckers choose this one also.

Good idea, but poorly executed.
Materials leave a lot to be desired. product definitely seeking alpha. If hung by loop unit is so light it moves with light winds and birds. Unit can be more securely mounted using the keyhole in the back, but then the lid won't open because the top arcs back and will contact whatever its mounted to which makes filling it impossible. Perch places feeding birds at an awkward position to the food tray, (high and close). and all except the smallest of birds will cause the bottom tray to flex down. Somebody needs to go back to the drawing board on this.

Been looking for this exact feeder. Finally found it. Holds up well and comes apart for cleaning.
There was one of these already hanging on the fence post when we moved in to our new house 5 years ago and I loved it right away. The front plastic started cracking this year(we leave it out in all seasons). I looked at every store in the area and could not find one with a flat back with a notch to mount it on a nail in the post. Searched for 'bird feeder' on Amazon, no luck. I thought I would have to give up my post feeder. Searched for 'post mount bird feeder', and there it was, the exact same kind. Very happy! Birds love it, and it holds up well!

Nice item....shame about UK weather!
Nice item and birds seemed to like it. Unfortunately did not fair too well in rain and seed got very clogged which meant cleaning was messy. Returned with no issue.

Took a little time for the birds to get used to it.
I have several feeders in the garden including this one. The birds tend to choose this one last. It maybe because it's on a fence which restricts their view while feeding, I'm not sure. This is easy to fill and will only allow small birds to feed.

Very nice little feeder - nice design, and sturdy too. Has been out in our garden since summer and still looks brand new. Easy to fill up too!

Beautiful bird feeder
Flat back to this feeder ensures it's great against a fence, protected from cats. Looks good...birds feeding.
